#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER “High-powered, intricately wrought suspense.”—Janet Maslin, The New York Times “Hold on tight. . . . This novel will give you whiplash as you rabidly turn pages. . . . May be [Lee Child’s] best.”—USA Today New York City. Two in the morning. A subway car heading uptown. Jack Reacher, plus five other passengers. Four are okay. The fifth isn’t. And if you think … plus five other passengers. Four are okay. The fifth isn’t. And if you think Reacher isn’t going to get involved . . . then you don’t know Jack.
Susan Mark, the fifth passenger, had a big secret, and her plain little life was being watched in Washington, and California, and Afghanistan—by dozens of people with one thing in common: They’re all lying to Reacher. A little. A lot. Or just enough to get him killed. A race has begun through the streets of Manhattan, a maze crowded with violent, skilled soldiers on all sides of a shadow war. For Jack Reacher, a man who trusts no one and likes it that way, the finish line comes when you finally get face-to-face and look your worst enemy in the eye.
“Propulsive . . . [Child is] an expert at ratcheting up tension.”—Los Angeles Times
“A top-notch thriller.”—Booklist (starred review)
“Edgy . . . thoroughly engrossing.”—The Miami Herald

I liked it, but it definitely seemed a falling-off from earlier Reachers. I missed learning anything really new about the hero. I probably wouldn’t have minded so much in a short story, but over the longer span of a novel, I definitely felt the lack.
I flat LOVE all of the Jack Reacher books & I’ve read them all, so far. Please keep writing, Mr. Child!
Jack Reacher!!!!
Like all of his books great read always to short but always good.
I am a fan of all of his Jack Reacher books. This was typical, can’t put it down. Great “hero”
Just short of being a comic book hero, Reacher offers virtually pure escapism. It’s probably even money whether Jack NMI could out-detect Batman, but I figure he could kick some serious bat fanny. There’s an ineffable something that keeps Child’s hero from slipping into pulp-grade schlock, and I’m never quite sure what it is. I do know I’m hooked, though, and I refuse to worry about it.
Another Jack Reacher book! what else can I say?
If you’ve read one Jack Reacher book, you’ve read them all. Love Jack Reacher, hate the formula.
I like all the jack reacher books so naturally i found this one to be a very good read
Not sure which Reacher novel this is, I’ve read all of them, keep me coming!
Another great Lee Child Jack Reacher read
A plus read and author
It’s Jack Reacher. What more is needed to be said. Read it, you’ll like it.
I always enjoy Lee Childs and especially the Reacher series
Jack Reacher does it again
I have read the entire series, and loved each book for their uniqueness.
Worth the read. The first 80% was a chronicle of who can I trust. The last 20% became a bit predictable.
Not his best. But still a good read.
Another gripping Reacher novel. How Child keeps coming up with fresh stories for his main guy is beyond me.
Hooked on Jack Reacher!
