#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER “High-powered, intricately wrought suspense.”—Janet Maslin, The New York Times “Hold on tight. . . . This novel will give you whiplash as you rabidly turn pages. . . . May be [Lee Child’s] best.”—USA Today New York City. Two in the morning. A subway car heading uptown. Jack Reacher, plus five other passengers. Four are okay. The fifth isn’t. And if you think … plus five other passengers. Four are okay. The fifth isn’t. And if you think Reacher isn’t going to get involved . . . then you don’t know Jack.
Susan Mark, the fifth passenger, had a big secret, and her plain little life was being watched in Washington, and California, and Afghanistan—by dozens of people with one thing in common: They’re all lying to Reacher. A little. A lot. Or just enough to get him killed. A race has begun through the streets of Manhattan, a maze crowded with violent, skilled soldiers on all sides of a shadow war. For Jack Reacher, a man who trusts no one and likes it that way, the finish line comes when you finally get face-to-face and look your worst enemy in the eye.
“Propulsive . . . [Child is] an expert at ratcheting up tension.”—Los Angeles Times
“A top-notch thriller.”—Booklist (starred review)
“Edgy . . . thoroughly engrossing.”—The Miami Herald

There aught to a law!
Reacher rules!
Every book by Child if worth your time to read!
I enjoy the Reacher character. He’s tough but has a good heart.
I have always enjoyed Lee Child’s books. It has been a while since I read this book, but I know it was to the high expectations I have for Child, Connely, Coben, Stanford, Kellerman and a slew of Scandinavian writers and others. You can’t go wrong with Jack. Excellent Character. It is fun reading how he interacts with various communities he encounters with his toothbrush. One of 3 or 4 authors I buy the 1st day their books are released.
One doesn’t read Reacher for literary style but Jack is exciting, scary, and he satisfies some deep, dark urges for the reader.
Jack Reacher at his best.
Reacher is the best, a travesty that Cruise plays him on screen
I’ve read every Jack Reacher book and seen the movies. Love, love, love this character.
Really like the Reacher series
The best, as always. No one else can imitate Jack Reacher!
Once you read a Jack Reacher book, you get hooked. Glad I found Lee Child–I recommend any of them.
Would it be too sappy to say can’t get enough..?
Classic Reacher
The Jack Reacher novels always deliver!
Sometimes a girl has to set the cozy cat mysteries aside and read an action novel. For an action-hero, tough-guy with a strong opinions about right and wrong and no problem setting the world straight, Lee Child’s Jack Reacher is my go-to main character. I am compelled to say here and now he is in NO WAY like Tom Cruise. Tom is short, dark haired, “cute,” and in my opinion kind of a drip. Jack Reacher is a big guy, over 6 feet, with light colored hair, and wreaks of testosterone. He’s so tough he can punch out a pick-up truck (different book).
Mature audiences – PG 13 or older.
Violence – at some points a little more graphic than I care for.
Sex – Jack likes women. No seedy details, but there’s no question about what’s happening.
Language – limited strong language.
Plot: Reacher is on a NewYork subway late-late at night. He spots a woman who, according to his military training, is sending out all the signals of being a suicide bomber. The clothes are right, the attitude is right, but the time and place are off. It’s no where near rush hour and the train is carrying only a few passengers. Should he approach or not?
What follows thereafter is a fast-paced, intricate tale of espionage and counter-terrorism.
The story does not disappoint.
And, oh my goodness, if you’re looking for super-realistic, get over it. This is entertainment.
What seemingly started as merely a “gum shoe” action story exploded into an action-packed struggle. What I prize about Jack Reacher adventures is his calculating, intuitive ability to size up how to react . . . long before his opponents. Amazing amount of keen, minute fore-thought goes into Lee Child’s writing. I chuckle every time I see Tom Cruise’s Jack Reacher brawls. Tom, I love ya, but Lee Child’s 6’ 5” 240 lb. Reacher could dribble you like a deflated basketball. Still, Gone Tomorrow is one hard-to-put-down, unpredictable thriller.
Great Read
