#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER “High-powered, intricately wrought suspense.”—Janet Maslin, The New York Times “Hold on tight. . . . This novel will give you whiplash as you rabidly turn pages. . . . May be [Lee Child’s] best.”—USA Today New York City. Two in the morning. A subway car heading uptown. Jack Reacher, plus five other passengers. Four are okay. The fifth isn’t. And if you think … plus five other passengers. Four are okay. The fifth isn’t. And if you think Reacher isn’t going to get involved . . . then you don’t know Jack.
Susan Mark, the fifth passenger, had a big secret, and her plain little life was being watched in Washington, and California, and Afghanistan—by dozens of people with one thing in common: They’re all lying to Reacher. A little. A lot. Or just enough to get him killed. A race has begun through the streets of Manhattan, a maze crowded with violent, skilled soldiers on all sides of a shadow war. For Jack Reacher, a man who trusts no one and likes it that way, the finish line comes when you finally get face-to-face and look your worst enemy in the eye.
“Propulsive . . . [Child is] an expert at ratcheting up tension.”—Los Angeles Times
“A top-notch thriller.”—Booklist (starred review)
“Edgy . . . thoroughly engrossing.”—The Miami Herald

Always a great action packed adventure with Jack helping the underdog in need of help
I don’t think Lee Child was capable of writing a bad book! I hate to finish his books, as they are so interesting, so full of detail with Reacher such a capable, interesting character
Any story about Jack Reacher is worth my time reading. I read for enjoyment.
Typical Lee Child story with of course Jack Reacher
I love Jack Reacher. He is the one I turn to for comfort between more “serious” books. Lee Child’s writing is terse; his details are well researched; his realistic settings are integral parts of his stories. Here the story begins on a New York subway with heart stopping action and continues to build. To me, Teacher is a modern day golem sent to save those in trouble.
Like Jack Reacher books
Not nearly as good as the Reacher books of the past. Most of the book is very slow with worthless minute detail that added nothing. Had to wait until the very end for any
action.
Love all the Jack Reacher books. He is a very interesting character.
Right up there with the best of the Jack Reacher series.
I absolutely love the Jack Reacher series. Well written and always engaging
Have read and loved every Jack Reacher book by Lee Child. I’m always on the look out for the next one. Write faster, Mr Child!
This is a typical Jack Reacher barn burner of a story. It is well into the series, so Lee Child has matured as a story teller. If I were not a Jack Reacher junkie, I could probably walk away and not look back. However, Child employed the new, for him, expository trick of telling the story in 1st person. It doesn’t give any further insight into Reacher, but it is an entertaining wrinkle that kept my attention.
I loved it.
Jack Reacher books never fail to entertain.
My first Lee Childs Jack Reacher book. I’ve already gone back and downloaded the first book in the series, that’s how good it is. I highly recommend the book and series if you like a laconic, kind of mysterious main character and lots of action.
One of my favorite Jack Reacher books!
Exciting
Very well written with a good plot.
Always the same, but entertaining.
Jack Reacher is a complex character in his simplicity. The story twists and turns. The dialogue is crisp and sharp with hidden meaning. The gripping action and movement within the story holds the attention — can’t stop reading.
