#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER “High-powered, intricately wrought suspense.”—Janet Maslin, The New York Times “Hold on tight. . . . This novel will give you whiplash as you rabidly turn pages. . . . May be [Lee Child’s] best.”—USA Today New York City. Two in the morning. A subway car heading uptown. Jack Reacher, plus five other passengers. Four are okay. The fifth isn’t. And if you think … plus five other passengers. Four are okay. The fifth isn’t. And if you think Reacher isn’t going to get involved . . . then you don’t know Jack.
Susan Mark, the fifth passenger, had a big secret, and her plain little life was being watched in Washington, and California, and Afghanistan—by dozens of people with one thing in common: They’re all lying to Reacher. A little. A lot. Or just enough to get him killed. A race has begun through the streets of Manhattan, a maze crowded with violent, skilled soldiers on all sides of a shadow war. For Jack Reacher, a man who trusts no one and likes it that way, the finish line comes when you finally get face-to-face and look your worst enemy in the eye.
“Propulsive . . . [Child is] an expert at ratcheting up tension.”—Los Angeles Times
“A top-notch thriller.”—Booklist (starred review)
“Edgy . . . thoroughly engrossing.”—The Miami Herald

I found Gone Tomorrow to be another great Lee Child read. In the middle of the night, Jack Reacher is one of just a handful of people riding on the Manhattan subway. He notices a woman on the train who exhibits all eleven of the traits developed by Israeli Intelligence to identify suicide bombers. Reacher attempts to involve the woman in conversation, at which point she pulls out a pistol and blows her brains out. Reacher now sets out on a quest to deal with an Al Qaeda terror cell — in true Reacher style. A great read with a very bloody ending!
Love Child’s books about Jack Reacher!! Hate the movies…
typical character development great read
Typical Jack Reacher adventure. Could hardly oppuut it down.
I missed this when it came out and I never miss a Reacher book.
Pretty good story. Reacher sees a suicide and wonders what could have been so bad in this woman’s life. The more he digs, the more complicated it gets even involving a government coverup.
“Warning Spoilers” My rating for this 13th book is 2.5 stars . I liked the beginning. I liked Reacher’s upgrades. My problem with this story too much talk about politics & not enough action.
Another great Lee Child book. It may not be my favorite but it gave me a lot to wonder about.
Classic Reacher!
What can you say, Jack Reacher probably the favorite character written about today. This one was going back to the way the first Reacher books were and I enjoyed it much more than the last couple of books but I will keep buying them because he is the best story line going today.
Lee Child books ALL seem to be excellent reads with well developed characters
Jack Reacher is a great character
Great Book
I read and enjoy everything Lee Child writes.
Typical Lee Child/Jack Reacher. Essy reading and short enough to finish quickly.
Reacher once again gets involved in an escapade that doesn’t involve him. He encounters a woman on a train. Her actions and those behind them take him on a series of encounters that seem to be endless. He resolves the problem, despite help from the alphabet of government agencies that strive to make everything about him and insist he has the answers. Check out this intro, it will keep you going…!
