Ethan,I wasn’t expecting to find you. The night was only supposed to be a celebration for my friend, but I couldn’t stop my heart, or body, from being drawn to you. Then I got to know you and you chipped away every wall I’d built around my heart. You don’t know how many times I found reasons to talk to you.To see you. It has to stop. There’s this distance between us I can’t control.Damn you and your … stop.
There’s this distance between us I can’t control.
Damn you and your dimple for being so irresistible.
I wish I wasn’t so gone for you.
Olivia,
I knew I wouldn’t be able to let you go the night you walked into my bar.
Everything in me screams to keep you close.
I’m ready to move forward, to stop making excuses to see you, but I know you need more time. You’ve created this distance between us to protect your heart, but you have to know it’s safe with me.
The moments you give me aren’t enough. I want you forever and I’ll stop at nothing to make it happen.
After all, I’m so gone for you.
Gone for You is the first of three standalone contemporary romances in the new All for You series. There’s elements of brother’s best friend and friends-to-lovers romance with a love that’s built over time.

I love all of Jennifer’s books because they all leave you with such a happy feeling. I loved everything about this book however I felt as if the book was a bit rushed and I would have loved for it to slow down a little.
I feel that this book could have used a little bit more character development but over all the book was a great read. The conflict in the middle was very rushed and I didn’t feel like it added to the story line what so ever. I feel like there could have been other ways to create the conflict or introduce the new characters. I also felt like the conflict wasn’t talked enough about for it to resolve.
I like this book because it was a quick and fun read. A slight cliffhanger at the end which I am sure will be resolved in book 2! I would read this book again and I would recommend this book for others to read
Jennifer Van Wyk you woman are just damn amazing. Your words were spell boundin. I fucking loved this book. It was hot and naughty. It’s deep and Emotional. The dialogue is beautiful and banter so captivating….
Liv and Ethan are so adorable, their hearts and souls are so beautiful.
Ethan is a bar owner and my kind of Alpha. Olivia has major trust issues. Watching her learn to drop her walls.
These two have such a believable, trusting friendship watching that turn to love was just awesome.
Ladies trust me when I say that the side characters are so so amazin. They will grab your attention and you will love reading them as well.
Grab this book ladies….
I love Jennifer’s writing so much! Olivia and Ethan’s story is a bit different than her previous books, but I love it! A little steamier and a lot more laugh out loud moments. My favorite part of Jennifer’s writing is how she really gets you hooked on the cast of characters! I want more of them all!!!!!
This was okay for me. This is a first for me from this author, and while the writing was okay, I felt like there wasn’t a whole lot to this story. Ethan and Olivia meet years before, and then meet again at Ethan’s bar. They don’t live near each other, so this is a long distance getting to know each other. While I loved their banter with each other, it just seemed like nothing really happened. They push each other away when their feelings get too strong, and it drove me crazy. I understand the cheating thing, but you can’t judge one person because of something someone else did. The ending was sweet for Liv and Ethan, and there was a little cliffhanger there, but it would be more for Rex’s story.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
I’m a sucker for a love story in which the hero and heroine fall fast and hard for one another. It feels like the ultimate love story, and Gone For You is one of the best I’ve read. Ethan and Olivia have an instant connection when they first meet, but the timing is all wrong. Ten years pass and they run into each other by chance, and they pick up right where they had just begun on that fateful meet-cute years ago. You’ll love these two and their tender, steamy and emotional road to happily ever after that takes a few unexpected twists and turns to keep you guessing.

I only discovered Jennifer Van Wyk last summer, and after the few books I’ve read it is clear she is becoming one of my favorite authors. Her words are beautiful, addicting, and full of emotion, ensuring I am completely engulfed in each book, soaking up each and every word. Gone For You is no exception, and days after finishing I can’t get it out of my head.
This book checked off everything I love in a book – romance, humor, emotion – as well as mixed all my favorite genres into one incredible story. Brother’s best friend, friends to lovers, second chance, they’re all intertwined with a perfect bow, ensuring I love every second I spent reading it.
Liv & Ethan are my new favorite couple, each amazing characters on their own, but together they are amazing. I loved that their relationship grew through texts and phone calls, building an unbreakable bond & off the charts chemistry that was nothing short of explosive when they actually came together. Each was far from perfect, with baggage and issues just waiting to break them, and I just couldn’t get enough of their story.
The supporting characters were seamless additions, bringing in perfect doses of friendship, comedy, and glimpses into who Liv & Ethan were beneath the surface. Going into this book knowing it was the beginning of a new series I had my hopes & theories of what was to come, and I’m so excited that it looks like my wishes are coming true! I can’t wait to read the upcoming books, and hope to see a lot more of Liv & Ethan in the future!
Gone For You is now one of my favorite reads by Jennifer Van Wyk! I instantly fell in love with Ethan and Olivia. Their chemistry and connection was quick and hard, not to mention hot and sweet! Ethan is just the sweetest! He checks all my boxes for the perfect book boyfriend! Olivia fun and sexy without even trying! Together they mesh just right. I loved their banter, sarcasm and quick comebacks! Everyone needs to read this new book and series! I am super excited for what is to come!
Jennifer Van Wyk’s books just keep getting better and better. If brother’s best friend romances are your thing, this book will check all your boxes. If they aren’t your thing, they will be after reading Gone for You!
Ethan is a swoony hero and Olivia is a sassy heroine. After meeting once ten years ago, Ethan and Olivia run into each other again. Sparks flew back then and they definitely fly now!
You’ll want to read this in one sitting so you can find out how things turn out for these two characters!
Do you need a swoonworthy, sexy, emotionally mature and protective hero with a heart of gold and brilliant sense of humor? Do you want to read about the most amazing, caring , sassy and beautiful girl who is just scared to fall in love? What about an epic story of love , life, friendship, family and second chances? Well I have just the one for you. Jennifer Van Wyk’s new contemporary romance, “Gone for You”.
Olivia met her brothers friend and neighbour Ethan for few awkward minutes in hallway at seventeen years of age. But the moment is etched in her memory forever. Now ten years later they meet again in The Flying Goat, a bar Ethan owns. They feel instant connection with each other. But they have tons of issues. Olivia has trust issues and scepticism about relationships from her parents’ divorce. Ethan has a lot of abandonment issues. They gradually but surely fall deeply in love. But their hangover from the past is threatening to destroy everything.
I love Olivia. If I could bat for the other team, I would propose to her. She is hiding so much pain and anger behind her chirpy and sassy demeanour. She loves with all her heart but scared to let go completely. Ethan is perfect for her. Oh this guy is totally prince charming. Well not so gentleman in bed but otherwise he is someone you dream of. He makes Olivia so special. He is special. I do hate him a bit for breaking Olivia’s heart. I was just so sad when it happened. But all is well when it ends well.
Jennifer Van Wyk’s storytelling amazed me. She switched from flirty hilarious conversations to deep emotional moments to sexy sizzling chemistry effortlessly. Her writing is very vivid, detailed and visual. The scenes played like a movie in my mind. The characters, the extensive secondary characters and solid plot made this one a great read. I was totally lost in the pages.
Received ARC for Honest Review
Talk about the almost perfect guy. Ethan was dreamy, swoony, etc etc. Olivia was not too bad herself. These two met the funniest way and Ethan found out she was his best friend 17 year old younger sister. Fast forward 10 years and they run into each other. At first he doesn’t recognize her but when he does a friendship is developed, that then turns into more and it’s very swoony. They both had things from their childhood that was sort of similar but it didn’t quite mess things up; just a little bit on Olivia’s behalf but it was understandable. Ethan had the heart of gold and Olivia had the best older brother in Owen. He was amazing and I can’t wait for him to find happiness. He actually played a part in these two relationship that made me like him even more. Ethan and Olivia got their HEA but it ended on a twist which we will see resolved in Book 2 with another character.
4.5 Sassy Stars!
I loved this book, the characters, The Goat, the Sass, the “feels”, the second-chances, the banter and everything between. It just felt homey, down to earth and relatable. There is so much I can say about this one, but for now I just suggest you pick it up and ENJOY.
This was the first book I have read by Jennifer Van Wyk, but it certainly won’t be my last…
LOVE! I am a sucker for a good brother’s best friend story and Jennifer Van Wky completely killed it with Gone for You! I love Ethan and Olivia! I love the budding love between them. The texts and calls are my favorite parts of this book! Such a sweet read! FIVE STARS!!
My first book from the author.
Liv and Ethan ‘s story is sweet, cute. They both are beautiful people. I really liked them.
Evan is perfect. Funny ,strong, charming, generous, loyal… He’s ready to do everything for his relationship with Liv to work.
Liv is adorable and kind.
That’s love at first sight for them. The chemistry between them is strong and beautiful.
But sometimes i found them a bit childish.
And most of all… until nearly 70% nothing really happen. They learn to know each other, that’s cute but a bit boring so i skipped some scenes. When finally something happened my interest was lost.
So a 3 stars for me.
This small town story is so beautiful and beyond relatable. Jennifer created such a great storyline with instant attraction but timing and life doesn’t work on our side but sometime later these characters get their chance and it’s sizzling and so enjoyable.
I’m totally gone for Jennifer Van Wyk’s love stories! Her words flow effortlessly, the characters are always fun and interesting, and the storylines make me smile and swoon.
Olivia and Ethan have a short but unforgettable chance meeting with instant chemistry, but that’s where it ends. Fast forward ten years, when she walks into his bar, they discover that time has done nothing to quell their intense attraction. Their undeniable connection quickly leads to a relationship with no label because Liv is afraid to commit and she has her walls firmly intact, but luckily Ethan has the patience of a saint. Unfortunately, they don’t live in the same place forcing them to get to know one another long distance. I loved their getting to know each other phone conversations…pretty hilarious!
This book was funny, sexy, steamy, and although I was waiting for the angsty part, it was completely different from what I was expecting. The added unexpected twists were a welcome surprise. With an element of best friend’s sister/second chance/small town romance and not just one, but two “meet cutes”, this book hit all the marks for me!
As always, love the tie in with characters from her other books.
4 stars!
Jennifer Van Wyk is an auto-read author for me. Her stories are sweet, sexy and emotional with minimal angst and drama. They make me swoon and fall in love, and her heroes are to die for! And she has delivered another fantastic read with this book – add in the brother’s best friend element, and I loved it!
Olivia was just 17 when she first laid eyes on Ethan. She was visiting her older brother, Owen, and Ethan was his friend and neighbour. They shared an immediate attraction, which was squashed when Ethan discovered how young she was, and then her brother told Ethan to keep his hands off. Both of them knew nothing could ever come from it.
Fast forward ten years later and Ethan is now running his own bar, and then in wanders Olivia. The spark between them is still very much there, and this time Olivia is all grown up. After a night of banter and flirty glances, Ethan asks her out and so begins a glorious, romantic, swoony and chemistry-filled love story. Neither Ethan nor Olivia hide their attraction, they follow their hearts and revel in being together, and we get to see every glorious moment of it! The teasing and banter, getting to know each other, spending time together and the sizzling, steamy chemistry, it’s intense and gorgeous and they embrace it with open arms.
“How can there be so much between us already?”
“Don’t know. But I trust my instincts and they’re telling me to hang on tight.”
Olivia is only in town visiting, she lives four hours away, and though they don’t define what’s going on between them, neither is ready for it to be over, so their relationship continues over phone calls, texts and skype, and again, we get to watch as every encounter brings them closer and closer together, and it’s really beautifully done. I laughed at their joking and swooned at the romantic stuff, and I felt it all along with them as they fall hard.
But Olivia is scared. She’s had a difficult life and she’s been through a lot which has left her frightened of fully giving herself to somebody, and she’s put walls up to protect herself. Ethan is aware of this and though he is struggling with personal issues of his own, he is pure perfection as he supports and cares for Olivia, fighting for his girl, and I loved it!!
“I’m scared, Ethan.”
“I know you are. Push past it. I got you and won’t let you fall.”
“I’m already falling.”
“Thank fuck.”
On one hand it all seems to easy and natural, but on the other, their fears and scars from the past have left their mark and there is some drama and angst as they work through it all. There are twists and turns and more than one surprise, and it’s really emotional in places, but they have friends and family who are loving and supporting them through it, and I loved watching them work through it all to find a happy ending.
This book is the beginning of Van Wyk’s All For You series, the next book is for Ethan’s friend and fellow bartender, Rex, and I’m assuming that Owen will also get a book. The story setups are already there, and I’m so freaking excited for what’s to come! Fans of Jennifer’s will also love the tie-in with her previous books (Olivia’s best friend, Lily is the daughter of James from A Better Place), so that brings that whole crew into the mix, which was a really fun addition.
I love this book. It’s sweet, funny, sexy and swoony, and I’m eagerly awaiting more.
4 stars!
Wow, wow, wow!!! Ms. Van Wyk never ever disappoints me. I’m glad that I found this author and her work through a friend. Because it led me to one of my must read authors! And every book by Ms. Van Wyk just get better and better. Liv and Ethan, oh my heart after reading them. I was addicted and couldn’t put them down. Their story, just guys! Seriously!!! You need to pick up and read now. Liv challenges and sticks up for what she wants and I LOVE it! She’s strong and just a spit fire. Ethan is swooney, oh so swooney. And he’s the perfect match for Liv. Just seriously *sigh*. To date this is my favorite by Ms. Van Wyk and I can’t wait for the next story! And if you’ve been with this author from the beginning well you’ll find yourself enjoying even just a little bit more!!
Another fabulous read by one of my favorite authors!! I loved Olivia and Ethan’s story! I love that we got to see characters from past books too!! Olivia and Ethan have a lot of hurdles to jump to find their HEA…starting with not even living in the same city. I was hooked from the first page…this book was a perfect start to a new series!
Get ready to be gone for this book and don’t have anything to do once you start because you will not want to stop. Ethan and Olivia first meet and are captivated by each other but Ethan finds out she’s only 17 and one of his friend’s sister. Then they meet again 10 years later at Ethan’s bar. The chemistry is still there and even better. When he sees Olivia for the second time, he is so blown away by her that he immediately has to get the first date on the calendar and he doesn’t wait till like dinner but breakfast.
Ethan has been through so much in his life that you would almost expect him to not even want a woman in his life except for no strings. Olivia has had a couple of bad relationships where she wasn’t treated good & didn’t have the best role model relationship with her parents so she doesn’t believe that you would ever be gone for someone. Their first date at the diner for breakfast was so good. You’ll be laughing so hard one minute and then swooning the next.
Their undeniable connection quickly leads to a relationship but yet it’s not really a relationship because Liv is afraid to commit to anyone. At one point he thought “…I have an extreme level of patience. Because anything worth having in your life forever is worth the wait.” Can you say swoon worthy? I literally was like oh if only there were men like that.
So they get to know each other through some amazing phone conversations since they don’t live close to each other. Those phone conversations are the absolute BEST!!! They learned so much about each other and had such quality time talking and just getting to know each other. I literally died laughing when he had her guessing something while on the phone and she said “You had a good poop”. He was like “Wow. There’s really no subject off limits now, huh?”. I thought I was going to die. You can’t help but just love them as a couple & root for them.
This book was funny, sexy, steamy, and although you know there is going to be some kind of complication, it was definitely not what I expected. Those added unexpected twists were a welcome surprise. It’s also great to have the tie in with characters from Jennifer’s other books.
So it was yet another AMAZING book and make sure you pick it up (and any of Jennifer’s other books if you haven’t read them). I love everything she has done and Ethan (with the dimple) and Liv were amazing. I can’t wait to read the next ones in the series. I’m hoping we will get to hear more on Oliva’s brother Owen and Ethan’s friend Rex.
I absolutely loved this book! Olivia and Ethan’s story is a slow burn romance that will make you smile from ear to ear. I loved how they met years ago and had instant chemistry but couldn’t act on it at the time. Now years later, fate has brought them back together for their second chance. It was heartwarming to see how much Ethan loved and cared for Olivia. He knew she was hesitant when it came to relationships and he took things slow for her and made me swoon so hard. I loved their epic text messages to each other, their easy back and forth banter and the intense, undeniable chemistry between them. Add in the unforgettable secondary characters and you have a charming romance that will stick with you for years to come. Don’t miss out on this beautifully written book!
