Ethan,I wasn’t expecting to find you. The night was only supposed to be a celebration for my friend, but I couldn’t stop my heart, or body, from being drawn to you. Then I got to know you and you chipped away every wall I’d built around my heart. You don’t know how many times I found reasons to talk to you.To see you. It has to stop. There’s this distance between us I can’t control.Damn you and your … stop.
There’s this distance between us I can’t control.
Damn you and your dimple for being so irresistible.
I wish I wasn’t so gone for you.
Olivia,
I knew I wouldn’t be able to let you go the night you walked into my bar.
Everything in me screams to keep you close.
I’m ready to move forward, to stop making excuses to see you, but I know you need more time. You’ve created this distance between us to protect your heart, but you have to know it’s safe with me.
The moments you give me aren’t enough. I want you forever and I’ll stop at nothing to make it happen.
After all, I’m so gone for you.
Gone for You is the first of three standalone contemporary romances in the new All for You series. There’s elements of brother’s best friend and friends-to-lovers romance with a love that’s built over time.

Another fantastic book by Jennifer!! I love how she puts such emotion in her writing. Also, putting crisis’ that can happen to anybody in any given day. That makes the book come to life for me. Ethan and Liv were meant to be together from the moment they set eyes on one another. However, they had wait! And then, boom! Once meeting again their relationship takes off! The chemistry these two share is off the charts. Both them had issues to over come. Insecurities for Liv and abandonment issues for Ethan. It took some interfering from family and friends to help these two see what they have for one another after they almost blew it! Appearances of people from her other books is always a nice surprise. I feel like it pulls them all together! I really enjoyed this book and I recommend reading it!
Gone for You is sweet and swoony. It is a slow moving, friends to lovers story that follows Ethan and Olivia’s journey of discovering the depth of their feelings for each other.
“I have an extreme level of patience. Because anything worth having in your life forever is worth the wait.”
At the beginning of the story the characters felt very young and almost juvenile. The pace of the story seemed a little ‘lazy-daisy’ until well after the halfway point. But when it picked up pace, it had me caught up and flipping right up to the end.

Gone For You was the best way to start reading Jennifer Van Wyk’s books. I was hooked from the beginning and my interest did not fade as the book went on.
When Olivia and Ethan first meet age is not on their side. Him being way older and her being jailbait. The next time we hear from them it has been a decade and they both have gotten what they want out of life so far.
Everything about Gone For You is incredible from beginning to end. I fell so in love with Ethan and Olivia and how well they fit together. Jennifer’s way of writing was captivating and realistic. I highly recommend one clicking this gem.
I have said it before, and I will say it again, this author has a way of writing about swoony heroes and sassy- as all get out heroines that take on a whole new term for what a romance character should be. Gone For You is a perfect story, filled with witty banter, plenty of chemistry, and friendships that have stood the test of time. Written in Dual POV, this author wove the tell of two people who seem to be meant for each other. Gone For You was written beautifully, with plots you do not see coming. This author did a great job of not letting them drag chapter after chapter. Which allowed Olivia and Ethan’s story flow at a wonderful pace.
Olivia is a different kind of character, but in a good way. She is quirky, and rambles when she is nervous. Some of the things she says is off the wall, but hilarious at the same time. When she is comfortable with someone, she doesn’t hold what she is thinking back in the slightest, no matter what. She is a die hard breakfast person with a love of writing. I want to say as bubbly as her personality is, she is a tad shy, but in a cute way.
Ethan was straight perfection. I loved how even though he thought he was different, he didn’t let it control is life. He has the patience of a saint, with a huge dose of chivalry. He is understanding, sweet , attentive, heck I could go on and on. The one thing I adored most was his heart, and the softness that he had to him. He has the kindest personality I have ever stumbled upon. He also kinda quirky when he is comfortable with someone, which made him even better.
Have you ever felt like, with just one look you knew instantaneously that one person was going to change your life? Have you ever felt such a connection to someone, that you just knew that person was your soulmate? That is all it takes for Ethan, the moment Olivia steps into his bar he just knows, she is his forever, and he will stop at nothing to make that happen.
* I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK.
*REVIEWED FOR REVIEWS FROM THE HEART
I really really enjoy how this author writes. She has the phenomenal way of connecting you and integrating new with the old and i loveeeee it. Which also its my favorite trope as well! Brother’s best friend so that made this eveeeen better it was the cherry on top. So anyways i loved Olivia and Ethan. They were so good and steamy of a read. But there was so much more which i will not disclose because you need to read this one for yourself, im not spoiling it. But do not you’ll fall for Ethan, will you want to throttle a character or 2 during this book, yes? But the laughter and the love you experience or feel will be well worth that!
All the feelings!
This book started out super cute, but it sure didn’t stay in the super cute rom-com trope! The author did a great job at delving into the emotions of two commitment phobes trying to make a go of a long-distance relationship. I love the way this book unfolded! Gone for You was my first book by this author, but I’m heading back for more! I love her writing style!
As usual another great story! The story of Ethan and Olivia is both sweet and sexy. The chemistry is great, though they are both stubborn. I’d love to see more of the story between Lily and Owen. I can’t wait for Rex’s story!
This was a fabulous quick and easy read. I loved the instant chemistry between Liv and Ethan and really enjoyed how they got to know one another. You don’t want to miss this!
A great follow on from her previous series and I’m very excited for the next book!!
Oh boy I have to say when Jennifer Van Wyk let’s her imagination go wild be prepared. We see two people who are so in tune with each other yet afraid to take the leap in love. Two people who have seen love in a way that well is making them cautious now. I loved that Jennifer Van Wyk shows us a romance not filled with sex right away but a friendship that blooms to sinething they never thought would happen for real. True love. So loved it.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
I didn’t love this book and that disappointed me because I usually LOVE all of this author’s characters. I found Olivia annoying. Very annoying and immature. Her back story and her parents back story, unbelievable. I thought that the entire distance part of their relationship was contrived. Olivia is a writer. She can write anywhere, it wasn’t even like she had to travel to research articles – she wrote clickbait for social media! I’ll read the next book because I have a sense of loyalty to this author and because Rex’s character intrigued me. The supporting characters here, including Austin and Samantha made the story and developed Ethan’s character,
Jennifer Van Wyk writes small town romances that you just lose yourself in. Gone For You is a brother’s best friend romance that is full of sweetness, sexiness, laughter and some angst filled moments.
I could not get enough of the chapters where Ethan and Liv were getting to know each other. My cheeks ached from smiling so hard while reading these. I have done the long distance thing and can remember all of those conversations filled with a mix of meaningless questions and deep thoughts.
Jennifer’s characters feel very real to me. Like you could easily walk into a small bar, meet them and hang out and have a good time. They aren’t perfect. They are flawed just like everyone we know. These are my absolute favorite people to read about!
This is a book you will simply enjoy as you read!
I have been a fan of Jennifer Van Wyk’s since book one. I won From the Ground Up in a giveaway and immediately loved the author’s writing style, her characters, and the world she has them living in. All of her books (so far) are standalone stories, but she likes to give us glimpses of our favorite characters from past books in each consecutive one. So that’s a neat little perk for continuing to read her books!
Gone for You is Ethan and Olivia’s story. They first meet when she’s 17 and can’t forget about each other. He’s her older brother’s friend and neighbor. Ten years later, they meet again in Ethan’s bar, and it’s like no time has passed when it comes to their attraction to each other. But they both are carrying so much baggage, the odds seem insurmountable.
While I absolutely adore Jennifer Van Wyk’s writing, this was not my favorite story that she’s written to date. And it really is hard to say that. But no matter how much you like an author, and no matter how talented that author is, there will always be books you love more than others. And for me, this was not my favorite. It’s still well-written. The characters are still well developed. I still loved the world she has them living in. I just didn’t connect with them as much as I thought I would. The part I DID love was that the time spent apart was spent really getting to know each other. After living a REALLY long distance relationship with my now husband, I know that if a relationship like that is going to grow and to continue to work, that’s how you do it. But just because I didn’t feel a connection to these two characters, that doesn’t mean you won’t. This review is simply MY opinion, and I absolutely think this book is worth your time and your money to figure out YOUR opinion.
NICUnurse’s Rating: I give Gone for You by Jennifer Van Wyk 3.5 stars. It was kind of a bummer to feel like I didn’t connect with these characters and this story in the way I have with her past books. That said, I still wholeheartedly look forward to her next release!
Meeting Ethan years ago left an indelible impression on a 17-year old Liv’s heart. Now, years later, she sees the gorgeous guy again, and it doesn’t look like he remembers her. But it doesn’t matter, because it’s not like she would start something with her brother’s friend, even if he did recognize her. She’s got relationship fears. He’s got abandonment issues. The two have no business being in a relationship with those kinds of demons, anyway. Right?
Hmmm…Gone For You didn’t really work for me. It’s not a horrible story, or badly written, I just didn’t find it terribly compelling or very interesting. I also didn’t particularly like either Liv or Ethan. I found them both a bit boring, as well as the story, and not a whole heck of a lot happened until the end when Ethan suddenly snapped and went off on poor Liv. That was the first time in the story that I found something exciting happen, unfortunately, it wasn’t a positive kind of exciting, as Ethan was an asshole in that instance. Both characters had too much baggage and I didn’t find their reunion very convincing, nor were their I love you declarations very convincing. All in all, I just didn’t find myself liking or connecting with Gone For You and its lead characters.
Oh my happy heart. Gone For You was ridiculously addicting. So good that I read it in a day. From the first comical meeting, I knew I was going to be rooting for Liv (and Ethan too).
I liked Liv. A lot. She was smart and witty and scared. The relationships in her past had left her burned and skeptical to give love a try again. But the she stumbled into Ethan’s bar. Ethan- her brother’s friend. The guy she met years ago that captivated her young heart. The guy who made her doubt all her fears. But Ethan wasn’t without his own demons. However, a lifetime of loss didn’t make him shy away from Liv. He handled her with care. He knew she needed it. But he had needs too. And the biggest one was a future with her. In his home and heart.
There was more than one revelation that rocked Liv to her core as the story unfolded. But they only proved to show her how right her and Ethan were for one another. And Ethan had some making up to do too. Thankfully, he had Owen and Rex to help him wake up and see the error of his ways.
Gone For You was smartly written, funny, steamy and a fresh take on the brothers friend, second-chance romance. And though the chemistry between Ethan and Liv was instant the build of the relationship was nice and slow. The entire cast of characters that Jennifer Van Wyk crafted for this series played a part in getting these two to fight for what they wanted. And I can’t wait to see what is in store for this crew next.
I cannot say enough about this book. It was perfection! I’m pretty stingy with five stars, but if I could give this more I would. From the story line to the main and secondary characters, I loved this book!
Olivia and Ethan first met ten years ago, but Liv was only 17 at the time. Fast forward ten years when they run across each other again and decide to let life just happen. Both of these characters have some major events from their past that they let become roadblocks, but will they let those deter them or fuel them?
There is a sort-of cliffhanger at the end, but it just starts to lead to what will be the next book. So don’t worry, it just leaves you standing on the cliff, not hanging over the edge. Totally worth it anyway!!
Gone For You by Jennifer Van Wyk is the first book in her All For You series and I loved it! Though it is a new series and can be read as a standalone, long-time readers will enjoy catching up with some old friends! This was a sweet and charming story with some angst and all kinds of feels.
Ethan and Olivia have undeniable chemistry from their first encounter and every time afterwards. Both of them hit it off immediately. I loved their easy banter and how they get to know each other. They live in different states but know what is happening between them is worth taking a chance. But when you have two people who have been hurt in the past, can they truly let the other in?
I loved Gone For You by Jennifer Van Wyk. It was so freaking charming and a delightful read. I devoured this book in one sitting! The characters were imperfect and struggled with personal issues, but together they were amazing. I am excited to see what else comes in this series.

Happy reading!
I really enjoyed reading Ethan and Olivia’s story. Several years meeting for the first time, they run into each other again. Ethan is captivated by her and she by him. Living a few hours apart gives them time to slowly build their relationship. She doesn’t want another relationship. She’s seen too many fall apart and had her own issues. He thinks he’s ready until finding out information that changes his whole world. They have to work though things that happen in their pasts to get to a place they can have a future. But can they do it?
I’m a huge fan of the slow burn and if this book didn’t give you that (10 years LOL), I don’t know one that does!
Ethan & Olivia meet when she’s 17. A chance encounter as she heads to meet her brother. Once he realizes she’s 17 and her brother, Owen, is his friend/neighbor – it’s a no go.
Flash forward 10 years when she happens to come into The Goat and sparks fly. I enjoyed watching them discovery each other, reveal their feelings and why they were afraid of those feelings, and grow as a couple and as individuals. Their romance was hot, but they had sweet, tender moments and there was also some humor.
The supporting cast was fun and I hope we see more of them! Oh and – ummmmm, that secret about Olivia’s parents? Yeah, didn’t see THAT coming!
Can’t wait for the next installment!
Absolutely loved this book! Jennifer really knows how to consume you with the plot and characters to where you feel like you’re there and these people are your best friends. I didn’t want it to end!! I loved Olivia and Ethan. Thier first meeting was the best, but thier second meeting was a close second. Their banter and chemistry together was so good! Looking forward to the next in the series!!
I LOVED IT!!!
Reading a Jennifer Van Wyk novel is similar to savoring a decadent treat. You absolutely cannot wait for that first taste, you enjoy every single morsel along the way, but as soon as it’s over, you’re hungry for more and immediately feel the absence. Her characters and her passion for small towns just resonate with readers, making you yearn for simpler times, a slower pace, and the comfort of true love.
This is book 1 in the new All For You series, so if you are not familiar with JVW’s previous works, feel free to pick up Gone For You and get lost here. It is so well written, that you need not fear that you’ll feel out of the loop if you do not have a history with her other stories. Ethan and Olivia hold their own in this book. However; I highly recommend that you make the time to go back to where it all began and read From The Ground Up and those that followed. You’ll love them too! Jennifer knows heartfelt romance and she’s guaranteed to have you smiling at the end. SIGH <3 <3 <3
Now, having stressed the heartfelt component as I did...let me assure you, the heat factor in this book was A-game material!! Ethan was the perfect blend of charming & chivalrous, with just the right dose of dirty possessive caveman!! Gawd..I wanted to crawl into this book myself and shove Olivia outta my way. Let me at em'! LOL!! Honestly, you run the risk of overheating reading the sexy, playful, and witty banter that goes back & forth between Olivia & Ethan.
When one smart mouthed woman and one Hotstuff man are insanely attracted to each other, it's storm season y'all and it's gonna blow your Kindle covers off!
Where Jennifer excels is in giving romance readers a genuine story to fall in love with. There is always a great plot that furthers the budding romance, so the storyline never feels stagnant at any point. Her stories aren't mere boy meets girl, boy falls for girl, boy and girl ride off into the sunset and live HEA. Ethan and Olivia both have insecurities and baggage that they need to face and deal with. In addition, there is an absolutely shocking twist that I never saw coming! I applaud Jennifer for running with that plot twist head on, because it added so much to the end story and gave readers something else to remain curious about in future releases. I'm excited to see how that little development will play out.
As if one major plot twist wasn't enough, we were actually given two in this book. This sets up one heckuva interesting storyline potential as we eagerly mark our calendars for the release of book 2.
I can see the steam pouring off of my eReader already!
I abhor spoilers so you won't get any from me here...sorry (not sorry) if that's why you read reviews.
What I'll say instead is: Don't try to convince Ethan that lightning doesn't strike the same person twice, because he knows differently. Ten years ago he was struck by a beautiful young girl named Olivia when she appeared at his apartment building. She was too young, and also the little sis of his friend Owen, so he had to let her walk away. Ten years later, a mesmerizing young woman appears at his bar upending his world, and sending an electric current through his veins. He'll do whatever he has to in order to heal them both, and keep her for all time. No matter how many flying goats, fairy godmothers and pumpkin coaches it takes!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you one-click this and all other JVW works ASAP. If you've fallen into a book funk slump; these books will surely turn that around! They are simply wonderful.
