New York socialite, Poppy Baron, has guarded her secrets for decades. With only a few months to live, she vows to heal her relationship with her daughters and to come to terms with the two decisions that have forever haunted her. This novella is the final installment of the Gilded Flower Saga. Readers will finally get to learn how Poppy Kent became Poppy Baron and how her daughters paid the price … the price for her love affair with Gustavo de Lima.
Poppy first appears in Gilded Lily as the manipulative Baron matriarch. Throughout the Gilded Flowers Trilogies and Wildflowers Series, the fate of her daughters, Lily and Dahlia, and those linked to her world, became intertwined as each of the young women’s love stories unfolded.
Not all relationships have their happily-ever-after, but real love transcends everything—even death.

5-star review
Golden Poppy by Vivian Winslow is an unforgettable romance story! It’s the 5th book in the Wildflowers series and is by far my favorite from this author. This series finale was heart wrenching and it left me feeling all kinds of emotions from happiness to sadness. I feel like a part of me is missing now that I’ve finished the series, with every new release I became more and more invested and I just can’t believe it’s over. Vivian’s writing style is so clear and free flowing that it makes it so easy to jump right into and with all of the detail it feels as if your right there with the characters. This series has been added to my list of all-time favorites.
Poppy is a character unlike any other, she’s brutally honest and ruthless but under her hard and tough exterior she’s a broken woman who has endured so much pain and loss, yet she somehow remains strong. Poppy’s story is intense, action-packed, full of love and loss and with all kinds of twists that I never saw coming. I feel so thankful that I got to read this series and to get all of the answers to my questions. It’s books like these that fuel my love of reading.
I would absolutely recommend this book and series to anyone looking for their next romance read, it’s one you won’t want to miss!
Just an amazing capstone to the series. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading the entire series and Golden Poppy did not disappoint. The characters are well-developed and messy. The plot is steady. I found this book to be captivating and I couldn’t put it down before I had read the last page. Just excellent.

5 Stars!!!!!
I am at a loss for words from this fifth and final book of the series. The story has come full circle and all the lose ends have been tied up. I even had to use a tissue or two. This is definitely one of my top 15 best series.
It is always sad when a series comes to and end and even sadder still when there is death, but this ending was very fitting of this series. Poppy’s life may have come to an end but in this finale book her family and extended family and friends have all the loose ends tied up and everyone also comes full circle. I was so moved by this ending and I am sure I will be reading this book over and over again
‘I love thee to the level of everyday’s most quiet need, by sun and candlelight…I love thee with the breath, smiles, tears, of all my life…I shall but love thee better after death. – Elizabeth Barrett Browning” This is the quote before the prologue, before the first page of the first chapter and is such a beautiful way to actually describe this book of one woman and her life’s reflections and regrets.
Poppy is, quite frankly, a bitch. “…I like interacting with the salespeople. They’re friendly because they want my money. when you and your sister are being nice, a part of me takes it as pity.” You see, Poppy is dying, she knows it, her family knows it, every one knows it and this is her story. “…the cancer combined with her age has pretty much destroyed any filter.” Poppy is also acerbic to the point of humor “What would you rather I do? Sit around here and sing Kumbaya while holding hands with you and your sister?”
This fifth and final installment of the Wildflowers Series shows great insight into the woman we’ve seen in the past books. It gives us the opportunity to see the “how” and the “why” of her personality… “And they never lived happily ever after.”
This was a well developed series that I think is important to read in order (I started reading out of order and understood fully after I read book 1).
I will warn you though, parts of this series will rip your heart out while other parts will have you sighing over the romance of it all. Kind of like life.
Golden Poppy by Vivian Winslow is book 5 in her Wildflower series and brings Poppy’s story full circle. In this book we will learn how Poppy became the woman she is today and finally get some much needed answers to questions that have been plaguing readers from the moment we meet Poppy. This is a story of hope, healing, and above all it is a story about love. This was a fantastic read and if I could give it a rating higher than a five I would. The characters throughout this series have made themselves at home in imagination and to finally get to see the why behind many of Poppy’s actions makes me look at the rest of the series in a brand new light. An excellent final chapter for an exceptional series of novels
Golden Poppy (Wildflowers Book 5)
By: Vivian Winslow
5 out of 5 stars
The story Golden Poppy (Wildflowers Book 5) by Vivian Winslow is a novella and the final installment in a series that I have loved since I read the first book. This story centers around Poppy Baron. It is about how she came to get the last name of Baron and of her love affair with Gustavo de Lima. Poppy’s character appears frequently in this series and she is a woman like no other. She is strong, independent, knows what she wants, and can be manipulative as well. She pushes ahead with her life always reaching out to grab what she wants, even when her thoughts and memories are haunted by past actions. She doesn’t like to be dependent on anyone. This story tells about Poppy’s past and just how formidable she is. I loved the part of Poppy who I believe still holds onto the idea of romance and true love. My emotions went up and down the entire time that I read this story. It is a story that you don’t want to miss out on. It is a book that pulled me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put down until I had read the final page. A story that will have you feeling sadness, angst, and romance. It is a book and series that I would highly recommend reading.
Golden Poppy by Vivian Winslow is the heart-breaking conclusion of her Wildflowers series. It is also the conclusion of Poppy’s life. Please, do read the other books in the series before you pick up this amazing book as there are so many moments/events here that happened in previous stories and we get a totally unexpected and mind blowing perspective to.
It still boggles my mind how Poppy evolves from the cold hearted and manipulative Baron matriarch to the stubborn woman dying of cancer who tries to make amends with her daughters before it is too late. What makes the story so enjoyable is that we get it through the eyes of Poppy and both of her daughters – it allows us to get deep(er) into who Poppy is and was and she gives us so many answers, even to the questions we did not know to ask …
The writer has given us characters that make us weep and laugh and feel with them and we all learn to accept that we are mere mortals and we have our limitations and we do make mistakes … there is a lot of reflection and while reflecting with Poppy, one also starts taking a harder look at oneself’s life … it reminds us that we do not know when our time is up …
Do you yourself a favour and read the series and I guarantee that you will be carried away for hours!
Golden Poppy is the last addition to the Wildflower Series written by Vivian Winslow. This novella is where you learn the gritty details that Poppy will have to relive and rehash in order to move on and get the forgiveness she needs. Poppy has done some bad things in her time just like Gustavo has, and both of their significant others. Their children were the ones to pay the ultimate price though. If you weren’t sure how you felt about Poppy after reading Wild Poppy but the end or Golden Poppy you will not have any doubts. After reading about Poppy and Williams relationship it makes you realize how much she has sacrificed of her life, And also just how many mistakes she made. I’m sad to see this series end but I loved all the characters.
I can’t even begin to explain how good this book is. It’s the last book in the series and it’s sad, heart breaking, and beautiful. This novella just has you flipping pages hoping and praying everything works out. It was an amazing ending to the series. I cried and I smiled. This book is a much needed read. I feel this whole series needs a reread because it was that good. So sad this series came to an end, but it was such a powerful ending you won’t want to miss reading.

Four Stars
I can’t even imagine the pain and betrayal Poppy felt throughout her life. Family is suppose to be there to love, help and protect. Poppy received none of that. Its amazing she didn’t end up worse. Loss can turn anyone into a completely different person. I was in shock while reading this story. Once again the author draws you in and makes you feel what the characters feel. You feel that your at that table with them. You feel apart of their life. Every book I have read so far from this author has been well written and truly captivating.
Golden Poppy by Vivian Winslow is book five of the Wildflowers series. This book is the final book in the series and boy what a way to wrap it all up.
This book really brings so much into perspective. You see why Poppy is who she is. You get a look into her past and what events unfolded to create Poppy Baron. A lot of this book is Poppy’s reflection of her life, looking back at what happened. Poppy doesn’t have much longer and she truly wants to repair the relationship with her daughters. This book really brings it all together.
There was so much suspense and intrigue in this book. You can’t put it down. The characters are well written and they come full circle eventually. I really enjoyed the final installment to this series!
Vivian Winslow’s Golden Poppy is the final story in the Wildflowers series. This contemporary romance was a stunning and captivating series to read. The author was highly talented in how the characters were portrayed throughout the series, but coming into this final part, I was heartbroken knowing there wouldn’t be more, but at the same time amazed with how brilliantly this entire story was told and unfolded. Poppy’s story is not for those looking for a fairytale story from start to finish, this is a story of choices and how they impact your life, lives of author and what choices you make when they are required. Wildflowers is one of the best series I have read within the last several years.
Golden Poppy by Vivian Winslow is book 5 in the Wildflowers series. I really enjoyed reading this beautifully sad ending to this series. Poppy is a great main character! She has many ups and downs in her past and we are able to share them with her.

What a way to end a series…Tie everything up and shed some tears…
I sincerely enjoyed reading this whole series, Poppy’s history really shed a lot of light on who she became in her life, although she didn’t always do the right things, her strength to always overcome came through loud and clear.
This whole series had so many different characters and I did enjoy each one, some of the stories I enjoyed more than others and Poppy’s was my absolute favorite.
I can’t wait to see what else this author has available and will be keeping watch for future stories from her.
Awesome!
“Golden Poppy” is the final book in the Wildflowers and Gilded Flower series’ by Vivian Winslow. I only read the Wildflower series and had no problem keeping up with characters, but make sure you at least read that series before reading “Golden Poppy.” I didn’t initially realize that the Wildflower series was a direct continuation of the Gilded Flower series so now that I’ve fallen in love with the characters and the world Vivian Winslow has built, I need to read the rest of it! This story finally tells us more about the mysterious Poppy Baron and what turned her into the cold person she became. She went through so much in life and just wanted a happiness she could never hold on to. She is a very complex character who I really enjoyed reading about. I’m a bit sad about the ending, but that’s me. The story did feel like a well- rounded conclusion to the series, and I loved it. Poppy needed to have her story told and it was a beautiful but heartbreaking one. I can’t wait to read the Gilded Flower series so I can read more about these wonderful characters. I give “Golden Poppy” five stars!
