“Empire of the Lotus” by Dorothy Dreyer, is a series that blends epic and urban fantasy with and Asian themed apocalyptic world into one of the most original stories of the moment. “Golden Mage”, the third installment on the series continues the story around Mayhara and the reincarnation of the Empress, deepening the story, adding some new elements of world-building, and exploring the characters in the story. This is perfect continuation the epic story, with a wonderful glance at the personality and attributes of all characters involved.
The epic fight between the elite mages and Kashmeru is rapidly approaching, Akutake (the comet) is almost here, marking the moment in which Kashmeru would be able to escape his prison and destroy the whole world. Kashmeru is still locked in the hidden tomb, but he will never stop to seek his freedom and pursue Lakshmi. Salina and Huojin face their destiny as golden mages, a task specially hard for Huojin, who is still recovering for her injuries, both physical and psychological. Meanwhile Mayhara, Jae and Shiro are seeking the arcane daggers before they fall in enemy hands, a task the Mayhara and Jae find hard to concentrate while fighting their flourishing love.
Dorothy Dreyer has crafted a beautiful, multidimensional world, populated by a great variety of characters, filled with description and detail and a mix of Indian, and East Asian mythology. A clear recommendation for fans of dystopian/fantasy stories with an Asian background.

Golden Mage, Empire of the Lotus #3, by Dorothy Dreyer is the ongoing incredible story of the Mages pulling together to save the Empress Lakshmi from Kasmeru.
Although the Mages, and their magic, have been outlawed, they must assemble and fight for the very humanity that tried to destroy them. As each Mage is located and added to the fight, their stories get woven into the whole, and you learn more about this fantastic world. Incredible 5-star read!
Again another exciting edge of your seat story. I love how each character has flaws but they seem to try and overcome them. The budding romance of Mayhara and Jae is awesome sweet and so innocent at the moment. The Emerald Mage is next and I wait in baited anticipation for it to finally be here.
