It took one man, one day to shatter my life.
Parents murdered. Home burnt to the ground. Kidnapped by an honest-to-God Warlock. My introduction to the magical world took everything from me, leaving me reeling.
Being branded as a murder suspect makes life outside of my supernatural refuge impossible… unless it’s in a prison cell.
When Shifter royalty approaches me to help her son and heir … it’s in a prison cell.
When Shifter royalty approaches me to help her son and heir claim his birthright, I jump at the chance to have a purpose beyond escape. Not that I have a choice. At least the scenery won’t be dull. Rory Leone is as gorgeous as he is volatile.
I’m supposed to tame the beast so he can rule, but
being a human entangled with the royals of Grimm Hollow puts a target on my back. When Rory shows he’ll protect me, every female with an eye on the throne sets their sights on me. Their goal: take me out.
It’ll take everything I have to stay alive but I can’t let them break me.
As Allya would say: Bring it.
**Tales of Grimm Hollow can be read alone or as a series and are adapted as modern paranormal retellings of Grimm Fairy Tales.**

I love Beauty and the Beast retellings, and this is probably my favorite. I was super excited to go back to Grimm Hollow and see how our human was doing. With her wit, nerdy charm, and shifter best friend she thrives. I especially looked forward to every scene between her and her beast. I read this book entirely too fast. My only complaint is how short it seemed. I know that cliffhanger ending is only lending to the brilliance of the next installment, at least I hope that’s the case.
this was an interesting twist to an old tale. I didn’t read the first one and had no trouble catching up. I will read the first but this one sounded so great I had to go at it first. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite fairytale and it’s always that one that draws me in. The characters were interesting and I loved them both from beginning to end. I felt so bad for Rory and the issue with his inner beast. And honestly, his mom had to be partly at fault. I swear she did everything she could to make him unstable. that or she was the dumbest parent ever. or most clueless. And Mae omg I loved her. She is smart and curious and logical but she cares. I absolutely loved their story. There should be more!
OMG! So I waited so long to read this book because I was partial to Scarlett Huntress. I can honestly say this book was fan-freaking-tastic! I still get to keep up with Allya and Jason and fall in love will new characters. Mae is such a wonderful character. Then there is the scrumdiddlyumptious Rory, soon to be king of the jungle. The life that LeAnn Mason breathes into her characters is absolutely stunning. The possibilities are endless with Grimm Hollows. There are so many characters I hope that get their story told. This is a MUST read book.
Great book. Couldn’t put it down.
Golden Beauty (Tales of Grimm Hollow Book 2) by LeAnn Mason is an amazing story that I have read. This is book number two in this amazing series that I have loved reading. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about magic and paranormal.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
If you need a good book to read and be swept away from reality for a while, then this story is for you. Mae is a fun and smart girl who just doesn’t realize how special she really is (even if she’s just a human). Her friendship with The Scarlett Huntress is just amazing and how she takes everything in stride speaks of just how strong she really is. And let’s not forget about Rory…. Mae is perfect for him….
From the very first pages of this book you will be hooked and won’t be able to stop reading it. I can’t wait to see what LeAnn has planned for us
Mae knew her best friend Allya’s home life was bad, but she didn’t think it was the kidnapping, murder, and arson kind of bad. When Allya’s dad takes only one day to ruin Mae’s life. But maybe her new life doesn’t have to be too bad either. With archives full of knowledge just waiting for her, and her best friend by her side, Mae thinks she can make her new home. Who knew there would be a brooding lion prince waiting around the corner, and a shifter queen who believes she is expendable.
Mae is me. Thinking about something else instead of watching where you are going, listening to the birds or living through the music on your phone. Reading for knowledge and experience, and blurting things out, a little too soon. Maybe her knew life can be less lonely when she isn’t the only different person in town.
Wow! I absolutely loved this story! The chemistry between Mae and Rory, the friendship between Mae and Allya, the magic, the suspense, it was attention grabbing from the first page.
Stunning storyline and plot, riveting characters and world building that keeps you glued! I can’t wait to read the next book!
I love this fairytale retelling! This book has drama, suspense, romance and magical elements. I love Mae and Allya’s frienship. My favorite character is Rory! Couldn’t put this book down! Can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
I’ve read a lot fairy tale retellings, and Golden Beauty is a step above most. I love how relatable Mae, the mc, is. Especially, as she navigates a town full of Supernaturals that are stronger and faster than her, forcing her to play upon her strengths–including those that are considered as weaknesses. I really appreciate how much Mae grows in the span of this book and how she gains more self-confidence amidst dealing with her grief and confusion. I also love how LeAnn Mason beautifully weaves in favorite characters from Scarlett Huntress, allowing a nice glimpse of those last scenes from Scarlett played out from Mae’s POV, and branching out from there. Not to mention, how well written her relationship with Rory is. It feels “real” because Rory’s own reservations and fears are clearly there, even if those emotions are, at times, masked behind anger and aloofness. However, the fact that Mae and Rory help each other grow and flourish is another factor in their relationship feeling more realistic. I’m definitely looking forward to Ivory Inferno and seeing what LeAnn Mason has in store for Bianca’s story!
I don’t like to give away much of the book with spoilers in the reviews so I will keep this short and sweet, as far as fairy tale retelling’s go I liked it. I liked the way the story’s flow into one another and I hope that the others in the series do as well. I know with the first book Scarlet Huntress there was a little more details into the next book and a little more information about Mae in that book that carried over, I however did not see that much for the next book and I hope that it comes back in the 3rd. I also liked that it is not the typical retelling but that they are younger and they need to grow up, I think I would have liked just a little more of the cute puppy love that comes with a YA book. But all in all I give it 4 stars and can’t wait for the next one.
Golden Beauty (Mae’s story) was just as good as Scarlett Huntress. Beauty and the beast re-imagined and told with a quirky and fun edge to the story. I love the characters in Scarlett Huntress and now we’ve been introduced to even more great characters in this new book. Mae and Rory were such a delightful couple. She was nerdy and accident prone, he was broody and grumpy. She was the perfect beauty to his beast. The morning after they found her in the woods had me laughing out loud at Mae. Maybe she should have been called “red” for the amount of blushing she did. The ending was a little bit of a bummer but I can’t wait to see where that leads and what happens next.
Just wow! This book sent me on an emotional roller coaster that had me in tears, cheering on the heroes, and cussing out the villains’. LeAnn Mason proves once again that she can capture your mind and heart with her characters and leave you not only satisfied but also begging for more. Just like Red and Jason’s story, Mae and Rory’s story has everything I would want. I cannot wait for the next installment of this series to come out!
Be still my beating heart!! This is my favorite Beauty & The Beast retelling ever!!! It’s based off the Grimm version with just little hints of the Disney version here and there.
I love this series of retellings, taking place in the magical world of Grimm Hollow. The characters are so well written, and I am totally in love with Rory!!!
LeAnn Mason never disappoints me with her writing, and I HIGHLY anticipate every book she writes!! I cannot wait for the next Grimm Hollow story, Ivory Inferno!!!!!
I highly recommend starting with Scarlett Huntress, book 1. The world builds from there, as do the characters. There’s a slight overlap, where we see a pivotal event from both sides at the beginning, which normally worries me, because many authors change minor details. Not LeAnn.
I couldn’t put this book down and had to force myself to not continue rereading it at the expense of my grades.
Make is smart. Incredibly smart. And practical. The supernatural world doesn’t fit in with her original mindset but she adapts. She grows as a woman, deals with the cattiest women in the world, and finds her voice, all while saving the bachelor in distress. Sometimes, just being there for someone is all they need.
Best to read the Scarlet Huntress first as this book is the sequel and they flow into each other. I really Enjoyed this book Leann Mason did an amazing job. When Mae’s life Is spinning out of control she finds a safe haven in the most unlikely place of Grimm Hollow. Where things are not what they seem and the people are very peculiar. Does she have what it takes to live in this town amongst these people and will they ever accept her find out in Golden Beauty a fantastic remake of Beauty and the Beast
I just finished LeAnn Mason’s soon to be released Golden Beauty!!! Thank you for the opportunity to do so! spoilers here.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story!! The characters are amazing and definitely pull you into their story and the town of Grimm Hallow. I found a few characters that I would definitely dislike if I lived there. The main characters I would love to know. And of course the ability to be a shifter
What a very well written book! I can honestly say I did not expect the ending . And now I have to wait until fall for the next book in this series!! Cliff hanger alert!!
So I gobbled up the first book in this series and was happy to jump right into this book. I might have actually liked this heroine even more than the first. She was whitty and she is just a plain old human nothing special no magic nothing and that makes her story even more exciting. I am not going to lie…. I am disappointed that I read these so fast because now I have to wait and wait and wait for the next one.
I have really gotten into fairytale retellings lately because I like to see where an author might take a tale that has already been told, which direction it might lead, and what parts of the original still remain when they’re finished. I honestly think this author has the inside track on something new and exciting when it comes to her renditions of these stories.
I love the strength she gives her heroines even in their weaknesses. There’s something about them that makes the reader want to tag along to see where they lead us. And Mae is no exception. She arrives with a strength in her heart that isn’t immediately recognized by the paranormal beings surrounding her. But when her relationship with Rory begins to develop into a friendship, we see that strength come out even more. She’s sweet and sassy, and the author couldn’t have chosen a better counterpart than the beast who becomes more to her than she could have imagined.
The bad guys aren’t always obvious, and the characters that are introduced along the way leave doors open for future plots and more fantastic tales. This author is a consummate storyteller, and I cannot wait to see which fairytale she dives into next.
love this book. Favorite fairy tale. Leann’s books never disappoint. This world she created was amazing. Hooked from the very beginning.
