GraysonI was a billionaire by the age of thirty—I’ve always taken what I wanted, and I never let anyone stand in my way. That attitude got me my own private island and a bevy of people to do my bidding. But it didn’t get me the one man that got away—Liam Gold. Liam is back in Abingdon now, and he’s just as beautiful as the day he left. He’s also covered in tattoos, living in a van, and completely … a van, and completely unemployed. Definitely not an appropriate match.
But when have I ever been appropriate?
Liam
People seem to think that just because I’m homeless, I shouldn’t be living with a mega-hot billionaire. Kinda seems like they’re jealous, don’t you think?
They say I’m a swindler. A con artist. A gold digger. Hungry for Grayson Ellis, and even hungrier for his money. So what if I am?
I never got a real chance to be with Grayson. We were too young and too scared to make it work. Now that I’m back, and Grayson has offered to give me a hand, I’ll accept whatever he has to give.
Let the people say what they want. I am running a long con, but it’s not what they think. If I can get that man to fall in love with me, I’ll move heaven and earth to make him happy.
Everyone deserves a second chance. Even a stone cold loser like me.

This is yet another great addition to the Bridge To Abingdon series. The characters are well developed and the storyline is well thought out. The writing flowed smoothly, and we have a nice fluff romance with just a little angst.
Grayson and Liam became unlikely best friends in high school. Gray was the smart, school nerd who skipped two grades, while Liam was the star of the football team, about three years older due to the fact that he failed a grade in middle school. When they go in different directions for college, they promise to keep in touch, but promises like those are easily broken…but not forgotten.
Grayson has made a name for himself as one of the youngest CEOs in Silicon Valley. He has built his company from the ground up, but he is not satisfied with his life. He has everything money can buy, but he doesn’t have his long lost love, Liam.
Liam went to college on the fast track to the NFL. He’s become a star, and recruiters are ready to sign. That is until he is injured during a game, and everyone basically washes their hands of him. He’s left with hospital bills, and his uncle’s carpentry tools. When even those are stolen, he’s left with nothing but the dog he rescued after its owners were killed in a car accident.
While Gray is back in Abingdon, ostensibly for his sister’s upcoming wedding plans, he happens to see Liam walking by. He asks him to come back to his house, and Liam reluctantly agrees. It isn’t until Grayson truly looks Liam over that he fully comprehends the life Liam has been reduced to living.
Liam knows that things won’t end well, but he has wanted Grayson since they were kids, and Gray is making an offer that he can’t refuse. Everything is going well and things are hot between the two MCs, when a co-worker of Grayson’s shows up causing trouble. Liam is on to him right away, but Gray is oblivious.
When things go topsy-turvy, Liam does what he believes is right, and Grayson finally sees the truth. With some PR magic and a bit of time, everything falls into place. Grayson and Liam are finally free to be together without all the public scrutiny, and we find out that Grayson is not the only one who is able to plan a few steps ahead, leading to a wonderful HEA.
Happy reading!
* I received an ARC of this book and I am leaving my honest review. *
This is the 6th book I’ve read in this series and just like the previous five, it can stand alone more than nicely but who doesn’t like to follow a cast of characters from an interesting little town? This one is no different. I won’t rehash the plot but just say that both major characters and a slew of supporting characters in this book are well developed with smart dialogue and a story line that kept me interested, invested and really caring about these folks. This author accomplishes all of these things very well and and I’ll be looking to read more of her work. Highly recommend.
Grayson and Liam’s relationship started back in high school, friends with a pining for more- but both have aspirations that will lead them in opposite directions out of Abingdon, college football for Liam and Engineering for Grayson.
Promises to stay in touch fall to the wayside as they pursued their goals.
Grayson never forgot Liam; he had been searching for him for years when an overdue break from the intense world of business brings him back to Abingdon, catching sight of Liam in their hometown, he knows that this opportunity cannot be wasted!
The question is, can Liam handle Grays’ high dollar fast moving life, intense business transactions, and social media scrutiny that comes with being the boyfriend of a Billionaire CEO?
Can Gray convince him they’ll make it through any storm better together than apart?
Wow!
I did not see that coming! My heart was bursting at the seams for these two!
A stellar storyline, with fascinating twists that incorporated a heart of hearts love, some buckle your seat belt and, get ready to ride drama, with real feels and electrifying character connections. A second chance romance that rightfully belongs to the town of Abingdon!
Six books into the series and I cannot pick a favorite I love them all!
Another must read Tatum West!
A KU read for me!
They’ve been friends in high school. They’ve been each other first love, but college changed that. Liam was on his way to NFL when he got injuried and lost everything.
Now, both are back to Abingdon.
Will they get a secong chance ?
Loved this story, loved Grayson and Liam.
For honest review. Liam and Grayson have been best friends since high school till they went their separate ways .Now 7yrs later after Liam football career ends with a injury and leaves him down on his luck and Grayson a billionaire now finds him after looking for him. Awesome I loved how even after years the love growth and support these to are.
Gold Digger is the fifth book in the Bridge to Abingdon series by Tatum West. It is the second chance romance of best friends who reunite after years apart and find the fires of attraction still burn brightly between them… the love is true and worth fighting for for these two. And they do have to fight for it… because society doesn’t believe a homeless ex football player can be real with abillionaire businessman, luckily Grayson and Liamknow the truth. I absolutely adored this story… sweet with a bit of steam. Great addition to series.
I received an advanced reader’s copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
Have you ever had someone in your life that you feel so connected to, but you let the opportunity for more go – it may not have been the right time, or you just didn’t have the confidence to step forward and take a chance? This is what happened to Grayson Ellis and Liam Gold when they left Jackson Academy; each going their separate ways, neither realizing it would be over 10 years before they would get their chance to be together again. But it’s not an easy HEA. There are those who are as determined to keep Liam out of Grayson’s life as Grayson is to keep him in.
This is a wonderful second chance love story with a roller coaster of emotions. Liam has been broken down by life, seemingly never catching a break. When Grayson comes back into his life as a self-made billionaire, it’s almost too good to be true, and Liam doesn’t trust that it’s meant to be forever. Their story has its ups and downs and some unexpected twists and turns, but it will keep you enthralled from beginning to end. It’s an engaging tale that you will find easy to read but hard to put down and a perfect addition to this most amazing series!!
You did it again with another fantastic story. In this we we watch as 2 high school friends part ways for college but never stop talking until one day Liam gets hurt and can’t do the thing he loves anymore. The drift apart until a few years later find each other again and not for the better. Grayson is a billionaire who as always loved Liam but neve r told him and Liam is this homeless man living in his truck with his dog. One thing leads to another and in the end they get that HEA ending that they both so deserve. I absolutely love this author and can’t wait for more. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader’s Copy.
