I liked this book, Going to the Castle by Nicole Burnham. The second book in a series, San RImini. The book moved right along & was a page turner. I think I finished this book in several hours of enjoyable reading. I would recommend this book
Crown Prince Antony diTalora had no idea that visiting a refugee camp would forever change him. Yet it did in ways he could not imagine. One of those ways was meeting the selfless outspoken camp director, Jennifer Allen. The last thing Jennifer needed was a publicity seeking royal invading the camp with a score of news people in his wake. She had too much to do and not enough time or personnel to get it done. To say that neither Antony nor Jennifer was what the other expected would be to put it mildly. While they try to resist what’s between them, it’s the King who may be the one to put the brakes on their budding relationship.
Another heart felt story from the amazing Nicole Burnham.
This story is about an American refugee worker who meets a visiting gorgeous prince. He is immediately attracted to Jennifer. She feels the prince is only visiting the camp as a publicity stunt. Prince Anthony invites Jennifer back to his palace. His intentions are two-fold. The prince is trying to help Jennifer gain support for the refugee camp and would like to spend more time together.
Prince Anthony is being pressured to marry other royalty so he can begin to produce heirs. After several twists and turns these two get their HEA.
Can’t wait for more wonderful reads from this wonderful author.
I received this ARC for an honest review.
Perfect book to read to just relax. Jennifer and Anthony’s story is like a modern Cinderella with attitude. I from the time they met, just hooks you. And love the fact that Anthony is willing to leave everything behind for her and Jennifer is ready to let him go for the country is so romantic. Would love to see who won the bed in the next books.
Nicole Burnham is a favorite author of mine. I love the royal world she has created. I get lost in her stories and I’m rarely ready for the book to end. Her writing is descriptive and the characters are so likable. I’m always so invested in their lives.
GOING TO THE CASTLE was a sweet read of Crowned Prince Antony and American Jennifer’s romance. I LOVED IT. I think it was my favorite. But I say that with each book. Prince Antony was a perfect son, never questioning his place in life. He was resigned, although not happy, to having to pick a wife he didn’t love. He had a true heart for those less fortunate. Jennifer was kind, hardworking and faithful with a heart for people misplaced. My heart physically ached for the two as they had to decide what should dictate their life decisions. Was the love of Country and responsibilities of life they each lived more important than love? Will Prince Antony have to give up his place as the crowned prince by choosing Jennifer?
This is a must read if you enjoy royal romances.
Burnham reminds the heart that it’s never too old to dream. For every broken heart and bruised soul that we’ve had to endure, Antony and Jennifer give the dreamer in us hope. Going to the Castle turns the tables on the traditional Princess and delivers a heroine with the courage to dedicate her heart to helping those in need. Jennifer is a fighter who makes her own rules especially when it comes to her heart. This is her story and it never strays when it comes to emotion.
Going To The Castle
Royal Scandals: San Rimini #2

I loved this story so much, I wanted to devour it in one sitting, but alas life takes over leaving me to wait just days to finish. I have to say this one resonated with me more than book one, as it was set only around the royals themselves. Price Antony was sexy from the get go and Jennifer a spritely American with a one track mind, but their chemistry was instant making the story that much better.
Crowns prince Antony, has one job according to his father, find a woman of good bloodlines and social status, marry her and produce an heir to the thrown. Sadly his pushing from his father has him entangled in the lives of females he prefer not to socialise with nor marry, leading to a reputation of a womaniser, one thing he is not. But a chance meeting with an American refugee camp co-ordinator is about to change everything.
Jennifer Allen isn’t your pretty woman with the dresses and diamonds, she’s dirty and is happier in jeans and a top working hard at the refugee camp in Rasovo. When crown prince Antony visits the camp as part of his fundraising, he strikes an instant chemistry with Jennifer, inviting her to visit San Rimini and stay at the castle to speak at an upcoming dinner. Knowing her heart is also invested, watching Antony with the children and his obvious live to help others, takes another small part of her heart. She knows that he can never be with a commoner, but his will to help those less fortunate, his power to change ways, and ability to raise money to help this in need, creates a friction she hasn’t felt ever.
A single kiss, a nasty companion, a King hell bent in marrying his eldest son, and the San Rimini press, will force a wedge between the pair before anything really happens. Anyone knows his fathers wishes, but what about his, his heart doesn’t want the women his father has chosen, he doesn’t want to marry someone he can barely stand? What he wants is a new look on royal life, a chance to make his own decisions, find his own wife, find that love…. And he has in Jennifer. Moving the long ways of royal law won’t be easy but having Jennifer is way more important!
This is Book 2 of San Rimini Series.
This is the story of Prince Antony & Jennifer. Prince Antony goes to visit Haffali Refugee Camp as part of his charity work, to give a donation. He finds himself very interested in this camp, and their needs of getting more workers to contribute to the cause. He is also interested in Jennifer who is the director of the Haffali Refugee Camp. He invites her to a charity ball, where he will introduce an idea for the camp and other locations that will be associated with the charity for the ball. He is destined to marry an aristocrat, but any of them only really want to be married for title and money. Jennifer is not like that. There are many facets to this story, which is a great one with many emotions and action. I enjoyed every bit of it. I look forward to the next story in this series.
