Savannah Gavinwood is all grown up. My buddy’s twin sister, that always made eyes at me when we were younger, is now a tempting, fiery woman, too irresistible for her own good. Open bar, mixed with her sinful body in a bridesmaid dress, and we finally cross that line at her brothers wedding.I have a daughter to worry about though, and it has to end there. Except it doesn’t, I can’t escape … escape Savannah Gavinwood, even if I tried. I’m the leader of home runs on the field and this little firecracker is making me wanna hit one out of the park with her. “Goner” is coming for you Savvy.
Jackson “Goner” Turner, the boy I secretly loved from afar for years before he broke my heart, is back. Too much tequila and a bitter divorce causes me to give into my desires. Thinking our quickie at my brother Gabriel’s wedding will end there, life always has other plans. Cue my asshole ex-husband and the bomb of the century. Everything is not always as it seems. Life-1 Savannah-0.
This book is book 2 in the Double Play series. It must be read after Curveball. This book contains mature content.

Jackson and Savannah’s story is a second chance romance. Savannah is the twin sister of Gabriel and Jackson was his teammate. Things started to heat up between them but took a turn after just one kiss. Fast forward some years and Jackson runs into Savannah again at her brothers wedding.
Would one night be enough or would the past come back to hurt them?! I have to say that Jackson and Savannah’s story is my favorite. Mainly because Savannah is such a badass!! I just loved them together!!
5⃣
Nicole! You did it with this one! You hit a home run! I absolutely loved the connection between Savvy & Jackson. They were like a match that never stopped igniting. The Flame just grew and grew and combusted major during their steamy moments. I did feel like Savvy needed to be more organized with her personal life and medical life. Second and third opinions are usually the route. In the end I was happy for the second chance between them and their journey of love.
4 STARS
This was one of my most anticipated reads for 2019 since the blurb reveal. Even though Going, Going, Goner is the second instalment in the Double Play Series it can be read as a standalone. This is the first book that I’ve read from Nicole Rodrigues and she did not disappoint. This a MUST read second chance romance!
I was drawn to both main characters, Savannah Gavinwood and Jackson “Goner” Turner. Savannah is a woman who is determined to move on from her divorce and not be defeated by her scheming ex-husband. She shows such strength even when life continues to throw her curveballs.
Jackson has been so focused on his career and raising his teenage daughter. But when he and Savannah reconnect after hooking up at his best friend’s/her twin brother’s wedding, he realizes a little too late he may want more and has to work to get what he wants.
“Oh, believe me, I’m definitely a goner.”
I’d like to thank the author for generously providing me an ARC of this book. Going, Going, Goner by Nicole Rodrigues will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ELITE.
I loved this story, it’s the second in the series and didn’t disappoint. Savanna and Jackson have such off the charts chemistry you just can’t get enough. This book was full of witty banter, irresistible passion…. it has all the feels….
After reading the first book Curveball my expectations was high. But of course this book did not disappoint, and it didn’t hurt that Gabriel and Charlotte was such a big part of this book too.
This is a sweet easy second chance romance story. There was no major angst in it and it was just such an easy read that made me relax and smile.
Savanne is an awesome woman with a heart of gold. She has so many hidden treasures that I fell in love with every time she showed me a new one. She loves so big and feels so much I just wanted to take her hand and show her that everything will be alright and life will get better.
Pare her with Jackson that is just a sweet family man and the perfect book boyfriend and you have a match made in heaven.
This was the perfect follow up from Curveball (book 1) I loved how it was not as heavy as the first one but you still got all the good vibes and happy moments in this on and of course there are some moments in here where I wanna shake and yell a little at the main characters but that is what makes a book good.
So find a sweet reading spot in your home, get a glass of wine and then just sit back, relax and enjoy all the sweet love Nicole Rodrigues is throwing your way.
Going, Going, Goner is the second book in the Double Play series and it follows Savannah, who is Gabe’s sister, and Jackson. I was so excited to read this book and it did not disappoint. Though, this is a second book of the series it can be read as a standalone but I would highly recommend reading Curveball first so you have a little bit of the background to Savannah, plus Charlotte and Gabriel are totally awesome.
Savannah and Jackson of years and years worth of history with each other. They had a start of something, until Jax got a lovely little surprise of a daughter. Savannah moved on and married the biggest jerk on the planet, thankfully she divorced him. Jax and Savvy still want each other, but Savannah is afraid if getting hurt again. Will these two be able to make it work?
This story was hot, it was sweet and I’ll admit I have shed a tear or two. I love Savannah. She is one strong woman especially after everything that she had to deal with when it came to her stupid ex. There aren’t enough words for how much I disliked that man. Jackson Turner is one sexy single dad. He definitely has a sweet side and a strong alpha male side that any woman would love. Of course, I loved that we got more of Charlotte and Gabe, because I loved those two, plus Bella and Devin.
5 stellar stars out of the ball park for Going, Going, Goner
Fellow indie author, Nicole Rodrigues has hit another one out of the park…
Ladies, meet your next book boyfriend- the irresistible, Jackson Turner. Be ready to swoon!
After an impromptu drunken bathroom quickie with this gorgeous stud, Savannah Gavinwood is damned and determined not to let another man get the best of her. She’s the victim of a devastating divorce and she and Jackson have known each other a long time…and have always had a thing for one another, but after her brother’s wedding she’s anxious to let him back into her office… let alone her pants, but this smooth-talking slugger aims to prove to the woman he’s always wanted that he’s out for more than just a one-night stand, despite how things went that night.
Jackson Turner is no stranger to abandonment himself. He’s a single father who has always put his daughter first and never one to let his desires outweigh doing what’s right. Though, he can’t get seem to get Savannah out of his mind or off his heart and he starts to break down her walls one by one.
But Savannah has some secrets she’s not eager to share so easily. She’s strong and sassy and not planning to be blindsided again, like she was by her jerk of an ex-husband but Jax makes it so easy to love him. Jackson is completely swoon-worthy and dotes on his ‘Savvy’ princess. He’s amazing, thoughtful and absolutely adorable.
Will these two be able to overcome their baggage and embrace their futures? I can say with certainty that you, the reader, are gonna be the ‘goner’ in this funny, steamy, lovable romance novel.
I LOVED this book. I loved Jackson, I loved Savannah, and I loved that we caught up with Gabe and Charlotte, Bella and Devin and got to meet some new adorable characters.
Be prepared to laugh, cry, oh, and did I say swoon ;-)?
As much as I enjoyed Curveball, this book in the Double Play series was even better and I am super excited to hear Bella’s story in the next book.
To say that Savannah Gavinwood’s life didn’t turn out the way she was hoping is a serious understatement. While she has a successful business of her own, no thanks to her awful ex-husband, her personal life is a mess. In comes Jackson Turner. The two met years ago when Jackson played baseball with Savannah’s brother, Gavin. The two have always had a thing for each other, but life has kept them apart. At Gavin and Charlotte’s wedding the two finally do what they’ve been wanting to do for years, and it’s better than either thought it could be. However, life has a funny way of throwing curveballs at you, can Savannah and Jackson take the curveballs and turn them into homeruns?
After reading the first book in the Double Play Series by Nicole Rodrigues, I wanted to know more about Savannah. She seemed so put together, but there were hints that her life wasn’t what it seemed. I enjoyed getting to dig deeper into her story, and find out more about her life. I also really enjoyed the banter between her and Jackson, as well as between her and Lacey. This story is about second chances, and how they can change your life. Nicole hit this one out of the park!
I was really looking forward to seeing what was next with other charecters from the first story and wasn’t disappointed. Savannah’s & Jackson’s story was enchanting and wonderful, gripped me on the edge of my seat and even brought tears to my eyes! Look forward to the rest
