The author is very good at creating the right amount of tension and action, but the amount of other-worldliness with the butterflies was a turnoff for me.
This is my new favorite novel by Pamela Fagan Hutchins. Going for Kona has convincing characters, rock-solid plotting, and a tremendously satisfying conclusion. The author’s genius is in her details which are so immersive, I felt like I was right there with Michele. Like all the books I’ve read by PFH, Going for Kona doesn’t conform to a …
Definitely keep a box of tissues by your side.
Very well written, and thought out. Hutchins books are always top drawer and this one is no exception.
It kept me on the edge of my seat!
poor character development – boring
Sad, tragic, loved the Kona connection.
Enjoyed the story, many unexpected surprises!
I got tired of all the running and training stuff.
Lots of characters that look suspicious, and then, a plot twist
Not the best written book ever but I finished reading it.
Luved it
Interesting concept, but a tad bit improbable.
Didn’t care for it.
Great story. I lost my husband 15 months ago and parts of her story was very helpful to me. Ok, that part a side I really enjoyed the story line and the mystery. Will definitely read more of her books.
I liked this nook a lot. Very believable characters, good plot with surprises, and I am going to look for other books by this author.
The main character was annoying
Well thought out plot and characters!
I loved this book and the characters are so real. The author is clearly a triathelete, or is married to one! My granddaughter is an Ironman and I was able to enjoy it with her, so it all rings true!
I love how the main character challenges the reader to feel the depth of her emotions and to take on the same challenge she is facing. Very inspirational for anyone who feels like they simply can’t move forward.
