Hot fling or real thing? There are no Big Easy answers in New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Erin Nicholas’s sultry series. As far as flings go, single dad Gabe Trahan is pretty sure that Addison Sloan is his best bet. Once a month, Addison comes to New Orleans and then… happily-no-strings-attached sex. And beignets. And jazz. But lately for Gabe, it isn’t nearly enough.
Sure, maybe Addison’s gotten a bit hooked on Gabe. After all, who can resist a guy who’s so sexy, so charming, and so…available? But maybe he’s too available for her right now. Addison’s just moved to New Orleans, and relationships are definitely off the table. Besides, guys always bail when they learn her secret: she’s a single mom.
Only Gabe’s not running. Worse, he’s thrilled. But Addison never signed up for ever-after romance, and Gabe won’t settle for anything less. Now it’s a battle of wills—and when it comes to the woman he’s falling for, Gabe isn’t above playing a little dirty.

Got to read ‘Easy Going’ the prequel to this and I was hooked! An occasional hookup once a month, no talk of their lives outside of their weekend rendezvous until she’s relocated to the Big Easy and their secrets are exposed and their relationship challenged. Can a commitment-phobe mom and a determined dad with incredible attraction make a relationship work?
I went from ragey to smiling while reading this. I almost put it down because my animosity for Addison was unprecedented for a heroine and not a side character. She seemed cold, unyielding and self-centered. What she was planning on doing to Gabe was so crappy. To just disappear and leave him hanging, knowing that they both had feeling for each other?? It was irrelevant if they WANTED to have feelings for each other because they did. Her internal dialogue and rationalization around kids and marriage was so awful. She seemed resentful of her kid and her perceived “obstacles” were ridiculous.
I decided to hang in there and skip some of her pages so I didn’t throw my kindle across the room and low and behold, Addison had a complete 180 attitude change. She saw the error of her ways and gave Gabe and Cooper a chance.
This series is actually about the trials of single parenthood and “it takes a village” vs doing it all on your own. If you can get past Addison’s bad attitude in the beginning, it ends up being a lovely story!

OMG, I don’t even know how to express how much I loved this book! Let’s start off with the fact that it takes place in New Orleans. I love books that take place in the city I live in, so this would have been an instant 1-click for me, but let’s be real…anything Erin Nicholas writes is an instant 1-click, so the NOLA factor was just a bonus.
From page one, Gabe had my heart in a vice. He tried so, so hard to show that he was cool with everything being a casual hookup with Addison, but there’s something to be said about a hero who already knows he wants more and is just trying to figure out how to make it all happen. I adored Gabe, and I loved Addison, and this book simply became another Erin Nicholas favorite for me. I can’t wait for Book 2 later this month!!
The narration on this book was fantastic! Definitely Gabe!
I am so happy with the first book in this sexy new series set in New Orleans and I simply cannot wait for more. But first, Gabe Trahan! Holy hotness! Gabe is a sweet, charming and sexy bar owner and has been hiding something from his out-of-towner, one weekend a month for the last 6 months affair, Addison. Which is fine because the lovely and hard working Addison has been hiding something from him too. Their relationship definitely gets a kick in the pants reality check when Addison relocates to new Orleans and suddenly what was easy is anything but. Turns out they’ve both been hiding the same thing and have so much more in common than just the physical. But as they figure out how to go forward, count on each other and let all the love in and blend their lives, just doing that makes everything easy.
Amazing start to a new series, set in one of my favorite cities, The Big Easy. Addison had it her mind that this was just a fling with Gabe with her monthly visits to NOLA, until her job changes and she is now in NOLA permanently. She soon finds out that her and Gabe have more in common than sex, single parents as well.
Loved, loved this book. The relationship of Gabe and Addison was fun and sexy. Loved how they were both single parents, just loved Stella and Cooper. These kids are opposites but help both grow up and face their fears. I highly recommend this book , can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Going Down Easy was a very pleasant surprise for me as it was my first book by this author and I enjoyed it tremendously. I’m a big sucker for a single parent romance, and this has both a single mom and a single dad getting together.
Gabe and Addison met at Gabe’s pub in New Orleans when Addison was in town for a work weekend. Since then, every time she flies in, they spend a scorching hot weekend together. Gabe ends up more than a bit smitten with Addison but there’s not much he can do about it with her living so far away. That is, until he realizes that Addison is moving to town so that won’t be an issue anymore. Now all he has to do is convince Addison to give them a chance to build something real… but he’ll have his work cut out for it.
Addison is a very independent single mom and is used to men running away as fast as they can when she tells them she has a 5-year-old little girl. Now that she’s moved to a new city, she needs to focus on work and settling her baby girl, Stella. Unfortunately for her, when she uses her singlemomdom card to push Gabe away, not only does he not leave running for the hills, he tells her he is also a single dad to 5-year-old Cooper and is ecstatic at the prospect of their kids becoming friends.
Gabe was charming, sexy and fun. I loved how he was all in at being a dad and didn’t hesitate to ask for help and rely on people. I also liked how he was also all in regarding Addison and little Stella. I had a bit more difficulty connecting to Addison. She was very self-contained bordering on closed off and came off as a bit uptight in the beginning. Luckily, Gabe makes it possible for her to relax, and a much more likable, sweet and caring side of her comes out and shine.
I greatly enjoyed witnessing these four becoming a family. I loved how much weight little Stella and Cooper had in the overall story, though while reading the progression of their relationship seemed believable, when you take the kids into consideration it’s not something that could happen as fast in reality. Still, I had one heck of a fabulous time reading this.
With great chemistry, fun banter, precious little people and a great cast of secondary characters I can’t wait to know more of, I loved Going Down Easy from beginning to end and I’m thrilled to have found a new to me author.

I just love how realistic this story was – not too much melodrama, just believable issues around people trying to mesh their lives. Gabe and Addison have different approaches to a lot in their lives but they are differences that could mesh together very well. If only they’d let them 🙂
Both are appealing – Gabe a little more so because Addison can be a big prickly but once you understand her it is so easy to see why. Together they do a good job of propping each other up when they need it and that’s pretty much what any of us could hope for in a relationship I think.
Their issues are believable and they handle them rationally, with a good deal of understanding. I appreciate how nothing gets blown out of proportion. Instead everything is addressed in a very satisfying manner, so that by the end you are delighted with the fact that they could figure out their HEA like a couple of adults.
Sexy, charming, real and fun, Going Down Easy showcases why Nicholas is a bestselling author. If you are looking for real and touching and hot, this should definitely be your next read!
**Review given honestly and freely after receipt of a reader copy. This opinion is completely my own and was not influenced in any way.**
Loved this book. This is a sweet, sexy read. The characters were well developed and the story flowed well. It catches you from the very first paragraph and makes you want to continue reading to the end. Can’t wait for more stories in this series.
Gabe and Addison’s story by Erin Nicholas was another truly fantastic read that I honestly couldn’t put down!
Sometimes, when I read a story about single parents, I’m not sure if I’ll fully be able to get into the story, but this one just blew every single expectation I had out of the park! Gabe was so endearing, and just doing his best to be a good father to his son, that I wanted to switch places with Addison from the very beginning!
Addison was also someone I REALLY found myself connecting with on so many levels! She likes her routine, and control. Gosh, she thrives on it. Even her relationship with Gabe is scheduled each month and a clean break when she goes back to NYC. When she’s home in NYC she can be a mom, but has the separation and break when she goes to NOLA. But that schedule changes when she gets a job in NOLA and moves there, unbeknownst to Gabe. But when he finds out her plans to move there without telling him, all bets are off and he is ALL IN. Even though his plans to woo Addison seem to be going off without a hitch at first, life doesn’t always work so seamlessly like we want it to.
These two characters, and their adorable kids, just stole my heart. Completely. I was just blown away by this book and honestly cannot wait for the next book to be released!!
Going Down Easy this was such a sexy, funny and full of emotion as these two find their way. Single parenting is about so much more , and I loved the way Gabe and Addison were able to be great parents while being able to let go a little with each other. Cooper and Stella were wonderful kids who are totally opposite of each other yet fit together so well. Over all this was a great sexy, hot story and I can’t wait for the next one.
This book has it all,a Hot Single Dad. A single mom with some baggage, sexy times,. Gabe is my new favorite of Erin Nicholas’ heroes he just is awesome. Addison is a lucky Lady I cant wait to read more from this series.
GOING DOWN EASY-a standalone read with a HEA. Hot steamy sex in New Orleans with a sexy bartender is about to happen to Addison, a designer for restoring old buildings. Gage is part owner with his brother of this popular bar in the district. They are sexy, fun, and quite the ladies’ man. They rarely leave the apartment upstairs vacant for a night. Gage is the single father to a 5 year old son, Cooper. Cooper stays with his grandmother during working hours.
Maddison travels to N.O. from New York once a month to consult with a firm in town. Her dream job would to be a permanent hire with this firm as she loves all things southern. After one week-end with Gage, she decides that he would be a nice treat after every business trip and they set up a “buddy” arrangement. No phone numbers traded, etc. Just the week-end and that is it.
Then Addison gets that prize job and she is moving to N.O. She knows she has to call it off with Gage because she would not have time for an affair and it worked as long as she lived hours away but not when they are both in the same town. She decides to tell him she has a child. That usually sends guys running but when she tells Gage, he laughs!! WHY?
This is a very engaging story. Children are involved as well as a support group that gives out some very sage advice. It is entertaining, fun, informative, sexy and HOT. I definitely recommend it.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 8/29/18
I loved reading Going Down Easy by Erin Nicholas, book one in her Boys of the Big Easy series. This book held me captive from page one. This is a story about two single parents who don’t actually start their relationship knowing that the other person has a child. Gabe and Addison meet by chance when a mutual friend brings Addison to Gabe’s bar when she’s in town for the weekend. They immediately discover a delicious, irresistible chemistry which sets the tone for their repeated whirlwind weekends when Addison’s in town for work. Then Addison is hired to help renovate Gabe’s bar and moves to New Orleans.
Erin Nicholas draws us in with Gabe and Addison’s fun, flirty banter. Then she brings ALL the feels. While the incredible weekends they’ve spent in bed are certainly one aspect of their characters they’ve shared with each other, but this is merely the surface. Ms Nicholas leads us into their worlds, including their parenting challenges and fears, their tender hearts, and their hearts’ desires. Add in an outstanding cast of supporting characters, from friends to family; characters who do their best to adult but who can forgive and be forgiven when they inevitably stumble; and beignets; and you have a winning combination for a wonderful adventure.
Ms. Nicholas wrote a wonderful, humorous, challenging, and sexy story that is not to be missed. This story is filled with sexual chemistry, fun dialogue, and endearing characters. I highly recommend this book to other reader and cannot wait for the next book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Gabe and Addison have been seeing each other for months but each of them has a life they haven’t shared with the other.
This book was a great escape but there were so many relate-able moments, especially if you have ever had kids.. Erin Nicholas gets real in this romance, but with a side of humor and such a great compilation of characters that I couldn’t put the book down.
Going Down Easy is the first book in Erin Nicholas’ brand new Boys of the Big Easy series and what a great start it was! The first chapter was quite steamy and I could not wait to delve into Gabe and Addison’s relationship. I loved Gabe right from the start but it did take me awhile to warm up to Addison because of her attitude but I did end up liking her thanks to the wonderful writing of this author. I knew she would get me there and then I rooted for them. I really enjoyed how they combined their family together and was able to see that bond form. There’s nothing sexier than a single dad finding true love and I’m so glad Gabe found his in this sexy and heartwarming story. I cannot wait to read the other books in this series.

Going Down Easy is book 1 in new series called Boys of the Big Easy by Erin Nicholas and what a way to start this series!!! Totally fell in love with Gabe and Allison and can’t wait for the next book in the series!!
Gabe a single dad and only looking for a fling meets Allison at the family bar and thinks she might be up having one with him. Well she does and comes to New Orleans once a month, they connect for the weekend then she goes back to New York on Mondays. Now Gabe is thinking that maybe this could be more than just a fling and when Allison decides to move to New Orleans she decides she needs to end it with Gabe partly because she hasn’t told him her biggest secret…she has a daughter!
Can they find a way to become a couple and a blended family for a happily ever after or will Allison continue to keep Gabe at arms length and depend on only herself?? So much sizzling heat, all things New Orleans style, well written, easy reading and just keeps you turning the pages to see what happens next!!
GOING DOWN EASY (Boys of the Big Easy #1) by Erin Nicholas is such a fantastic start to this new series! This contemporary romance is super sexy and hot, but it also has so much heartfelt emotion. If you are or have been a single parent, there will definitely to be situations you will relate to.
Gabe Trahan is a sexy, single dad who looks forward to his once a month fling with the visiting Addison, a restoration architect from New York City. Addison loves everything about New Orleans including her no-strings-attached once a month weekend fling with Gabe. Besides the best sex ever, Gabe sees his beloved city through new eyes and Addison gets a native son who knows all the best spots for beignets, pralines and jazz.
Suddenly though, Gabe decides he wants more. But what can happen with Addison in NY. He does not even know about her personal life except for her name and job. What Addison has not told Gabe is that she has accepted a job in New Orleans. As much as she is addicted to their weekends, she is not interested in a relationship and even if she was, the minute men find out she is a single mom they all take-off.
Gabe is not taking-off. He will do anything to convince Addison that he is not like her ex and could not be happier about Addison being a single parent like himself. Gabe wants to join their family lives and he is willing to do anything to make Addison believe that she can trust him with herself and her daughter’s futures. Addison does not give up control easily, but this sexy single dad is showing her another way of parenting and love.
I loved everything about this romance! Gabe and Addison are extremely hot as a couple and so caring as parents. Ms. Nicholas does a great job of writing about differing styles of parenting without one type being better than the other. The single parents group adds other interesting adults to the story and I hope to see them in more stories in this series. Gabe’s son and Addison’s daughter are not just added placeholder characters, but integral characters to the story’s plot. Ms. Nicholas writes very hot and explicit sex scenes. The fun sex scenes were the ones that started, but never finished until the end of the story in the laundry room. I believe all parents will be able to relate to those.
I am so glad this is the start of a series and I will be able to read even more about the boys of the Big Easy in the future. I cannot recommend this book enough!
Thanks very much to Montlake Romance and Net Galley for allowing me to read this eARC.
Loved, loved this story!!! Erin hit another out of the park with this first story in her new series. It had me so captured that I didn’t want to put it down…I couldn’t put it down. I loved how the main characters and kids interacted in every way – from a no commitment relationship to single parenting to a relationship! It was so real and hot at times. It was the best!! This is a must read you won’t want to miss!!! I can’t wait until the next book in the series.
I fell in love with Gabe from page one! I could actually HEAR his sexy drawl in my mind as I read every word he spoke. Funny, sexy and a little bit (okay, a lot!) dirty, this man pulled at my emotions. He and Addison fired up the pages during their weekend fling…and continued to when she kept coming back for more.
While my love affair with continued with Gabe, I fell less in love with Addison once she moved to New Orleans with her daughter. Her fun-loving personality disappeared as she not only dumped Gabe but tried to trivialize their relationship. And it was a relationship, even though they both hid huge parts of their lives from each other.
Addison redeemed herself for me when they were on the alligator bayou trip; I felt like I was seeing the complete and complex Addison for the first time.
Having read most, if not all, of Erin Nicholas’ earlier books, I knew I was in for a fantastic read with humor, heart and some majorly hot sexy times! But I had never experienced the total emergence into the setting as I did in Going Down Easy. In her engagingly descriptive way, I could hear the jazz music in the bar, taste the powdered sugar on the beignets and feel the heat of both the city and this couple. It was like standing on Bourbon Street in the middle of summer…or what I imagine it to be!
I can’t imagine that Nicholas can top her kickoff to her Boys of the Big Easy series, but I can’t wait to continue to enjoy the experience!
Gabe and his brother Logan own and operate a bar in the French Quarter. Elana is a friend and regular at the bar. One night she shows up with her friend from NYC. Gabe is attracted to Addison immediately. Some fun and flirting and they end up spending the weekend together. No phone numbers exchanged, no personal information just a 36 hours of hot sex. After their fun weekend Addison is back to NY. Since she is consulting for a company in New Orleans she ends up back a month later and drops into the bar. For several months Gabe and Addison continue their weekend fling. The 2 are forced to get to know each other after a chance run in at the restoration company office. The story continues as Addison and Gabe have to decide if they want to try a real relationship and if so can it survive the secret each of them has.
This was a really fun read. The author did a great job helping us get to know the characters. I loved the secondary characters as well. Well written, light easy read. I recommend this to anyone looking for anyone looking for a fun romance. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for sharing.
