Standalone enemies-to-lovers football romanceGoing deep: In football it means running down the field for a long pass. You’re serious. Committed. Unstoppable. As a wide receiver, it’s a term I’m all too familiar with. It’s who I am, at least when it comes to my career. For the past decade, football has been the only thing I’ve allowed myself to commit to. That is until a beautiful, blue-eyed … a beautiful, blue-eyed temptress steps into my limo to escort me to a charity function.
She’s strong, independent, and quick witted. Everything I want in a woman. There’s just one problem. She’s not mine for the taking. But that’s not going to stop me from winning her heart.
I’m in deep with this woman. I’m running down the field with my arms and heart open, ready for the catch. Now all I need is for her to throw the ball.

Oh my God! Nikki Ash does it again.
I loved Killian and Giselle when we me them in The Pickup as secondary characters and I’m super happy we got their story!!
I mean, who doesn’t love a man that loves with all his heart and needs a woman so badly.
Giselle was not what i was expecting at all but she was so fiercely independent it made me respect her so much more.
Another fantastic read from this author!
Nikki Ash has done it again! I think Killian is my new book boyfriend! I loved this enemy to lovers story. Both Killian and Giselle are two perfectly imperfect people, who are broken and lonely.
Giselle, has had a crappy life dealt to her and fights every day to survive. When she finally see’s that Killian is just as broken as she is, she struggles to believe that her very own fairy tale could come true when he decides he will be her knight in shining armor and rescue her.
“I just want to feel connected to someone. I’m tired of feeling so along”
Looking forward to book 3 and reading Celeste’s story!
Enemies to lovers stories are one of my favorite tropes, they just have that extra element of excitement and wonder of where and when the characters are going to blow. Killian and Giselle certainly didn’t disappoint in that department. They bickered and fought, threw some hurtful words and just plain didn’t get along, until Killian got his head out of his a**. It allowed him to see the real Giselle, not the one she showed to the world, but the girl beneath.
Giselle does her best to ‘be there’ for everyone around her, so much so, she didn’t have time for herself.
This was quite an emotional read and kept me captivated from the very first page. I hated when it hated, as they was no more Killian and Giselle, or Nick and Olivia from The PickUp, book 1 of the fantastic ‘Imperfect Love’ series. Can’t wait to see who is next to have their story told.
Sometimes it takes two “broken and lonely” hearts to make one complete happily ever after. And Nikki Ash tells the story in the contemporary Sports romance Going Deep. This story is about finding soul mate in the darkest days of life. And god it was so beautiful and amazing!
You have probably read the previous book, Nick and Olivia’s story. And Giselle is the best friend of Olivia and Killian is Nick’s best friend. This book can be read as standalone so no worries. Giselle has so many feathers in her cap. A responsible daughter who takes care of her sick mother after her father abandoned their family. A caring sister who is working too hard to fulfil her younger sister’s dreams. An intern at an Interior Designer and an extra night time “job”. And yet nothing is enough! I was feeling so helpless on her behalf! She is one strong resilient woman who has built an impenetrable fortress around her heart.
And Killian is there to bring it down. I hated him a bit for being so judgemental about Giselle initially. But then the story explained about his past. And I admit I love him so much finally. What a caring adoring protective man! He is so compassionate and kind and understanding and sexy. I know I am gushing about him but every word is true!
Nikki Ash is an expert of writing emotionally charged intense love stories. And this story was no exception. I loved the plot line with the character development. The story was filled with emotional drama, sexual tensions and deep feelings. It had so many twists and turns. I got engaged with the story so much that it was over before I realized. She kept me on my toes. Think about slow burn, swoon worthy love and you will get the picture. My heart was breaking for the couple and they absolutely deserve the happily ever after. I cheered for them and then all pieces of puzzle fall in their places.
Going Deep by Nikki Ash was a heart warming , intense and passionate love story. It’s a modern day fairy tale. A strong sassy heroine, a sexy protective hero and a whole lot of sizzling hot chemistry between them.
Received ARC for Honest Review
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again that I love Nikki’s writing!! She just keeps bringing it!!!
Killian & Giselle are everything you could hope them to be. Both broken souls who have found eachother. At first an unlikely pair hate to love. There are some twists, surprises, humor, angst, love, just everything!
“We’re all broken, filled with imperfections, scars from the wounds life has inflicted on us. Being with you has shown me that it’s not about trying to fix the broken, but finding the person you can be broken with. Be broken with me, baby. I can’t play in this game alone. My arms and heart are open. The ball is in your hands. Will you throw it to me?”
“She made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible.”
Oh my gosh awesome beautiful amazing heartbreaking and very realistic….. I absolutely loved this book !
Every time I pick up a book by Nikki Ash I always know it will be even better then her last but I also know I’m going to enjoy every inch of ur dorm cover to cover and Going Deep was no exception…
Do yourself a favour read this awesome series and anything else attached to Nikki….. definitely a must read….
Going Deep is the second book in the series and it’s Killian and Giselle’s book! I loved it alot. It was emotional and beautiful. I could not put it down. I so loved Killian, he was swoony and sexy. Giselle was pretty awesome as well. Killian and Giselle had amazing chemistry and scorching sexy scenes! Loved this alot! Cannot wait for the next book!
4.5
Giselle was such a selfless person. She did everything she could to make sure those who depended on her had what they needed. She took criticism and carried the burden on her own. There was so many parts that made me emotional because my heart ached for her. I loved her strength and determination.
Killian comes off as a jerk initially. You think he has this chip on his shoulder but then when you get to know him you find he is carrying his past with him. He is this caring individual. I loved his persistence where Giselle is concerned. He had so may swoon worthy moments.
I loved reading their story unfold. Ash did a great job of drawing the reader in with her beautifully constructed words. When I thought I knew was going to happen I was surprised. I am excited to go back and read the first book and excited for the next books release!
Killian and Giselle’s story was one I was waiting for after reading The Pickup. I love how they didn’t have instalove but their story was a slow burn. I love how Nikki Ash tells the story and leaves you hanging until the end. The chemistry between Killian and Giselle was off the chart hot. The story kept me wanting more and learning more about Killian and Giselle was the best part. I highly recommend this author and this book. The pickup doesn’t need to be read first but I would highly recommend it. Can’t wait to see what Nikki Ash brings me next!!!
Going Deep has to be one of my favorite books Nikki has ever written. I have been waiting for Giselle and Killian’s story since I finished The Pickup and Nikki Ash has once again written an incredible story. Simply put, I loved everything about this book.
The relationship between Giselle and Killian began as unexpected and built on a tentative friendship first before Giselle let it develop to more. Her independence was important to her, if not extremely stubborn! Killian is all special kinds of wonderful. He was unbelievably sweet, patient and above all else, just truly wanted to help her. Once the walls came down and his heart was given the chance to shine, he had me melting into a puddle of swoon. I absolutely adored how Killian and Giselle fell in love and be ‘broken’ together. Ultimately, they are two imperfectly flawed characters who just fit perfectly together. And I love that this book is sizzling and super hot but at the same there is an overall heartwarming sweetness to it.
Nikki has definitely impressed again with another must read romance. As with any Nikki Ash book, you get wonderful main characters and an amazing bunch of side characters. Every character are all so well written, developed and relatable. It’s impossible not to fall in love with these characters. I cannot wait to see what she has in store for Celeste in the upcoming book in the series
“Everbody is broken, Giselle,” he says, “but not everybody handles it with such strength and beauty.”
Going Deep by Nikki Ash is the enemies to lovers book you’ve been waiting for. It’s emotionally intense, moving, and heartwarming. Prepare yourself for one of the the swooniest heroes you’ve ever read. Although quick to judge and a little broken, Killian’s character is undeniably captivating. He’s tender, loving, and reverent. He doesn’t love easily, but when he does, he loves hard and forever. Without giving anything away, I struggled a little with Giselle. She was her own worst enemy, taking the world on her shoulders and as the strong heroine she is, she’s determined to carry it all whether it makes her or breaks her. I found a few of her decisions to be frustrating, however I believe this was intentional and just the character she is.
Author Nikki Ash delivers a book that is gripping, unputdownable, and a roller coaster ride of emotions. Expect beautifully broken characters, strong connections, sizzling chemistry, and a love you won’t forget. One-Click Going Deep today, and get a ready for an all-consuming read! Enjoy xo
This emotional enemies to lovers really hit me hard! You will laugh & cry! 2 broken people that think they don’t deserve love may just find it somewhere they atleast expect it. Killian & Giselle these two made me want to throw things will they get their crap together and see what’s in front of each other?
5 Stars!
Nikki Ash is amazing! She has quickly found a permanent place on my top ten favorite author’s list. I have never came away from one her her books disappointed. If anything, after reading her books, I want more.
So……while I absolutely loved this book, the H/h were not easy to like in the beginning chapters. Both of them treated the other horribly. Mean things were often said and many assumptions were made. Killian and Giselle are the epitome of the love/hate relationship only they didn’t know it. There is a slow development of their relationship as it grows from animosity, to tolerance, to friends to more. Of course the more is my favorite.
Killian is a pro football player and Giselle is interning at a prestigious interior design firm. While Killian is in a good place, he is not looking for a relationship. He has a story that will break your heart and give you that justification of why he acts the way her does. Killian is loyal and generous. He is sexy and and every woman’s dream man. I actually liked him better than Nick from the previous book, The Pick Up. And that says a lot because Nick is an amazing character.
Killian will become the hero that Giselle claims she doesn’t need or want. Once she lets Killian inside her heart, Giselle can finally find peace with her life and find love. Without going into details, Giselle has been going through a very difficult time in her life. She has had to make some decisions that I personally did not like. Thought I understood, and did not judge her because of it. Thankfully Killian didn’t either.
This book was really amazing and I don’t want to say too much more about it. You should enjoy it on you own. I will say that if you haven’t read this author yet, You are truly missing out on some very talented writing.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thant you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
At first, many would thinking Nikki Ash’s new release, Going Deep is another sports romance in her Imperfect Love series. However, while it does feature a football star, instead of dressing in his football pads, he comes in the form of a knight in shining armour rescuing the girl he never though he wanted.
Ash absolutely floored me with Killian and Giselle. Maybe I’m blind, but I never saw these two coming. In the first book of the series, Killian and Giselle had a mad love/hate relationship. He thought she was a gold digger and she thought he was a giant ahole. While much of that didn’t change in the beginning of this novel, Ash quickly turned the tables on me and surprised me with a sweet, slow burn romance between Giselle and Killian.
Going Deep was so much more than your average romance. Ash created two perfectly broken characters filled with depth of emotion that you can’t help but fall hard and fast for. Between their past relationships, jobs and life among friends there was not one single moment of this book I didn’t devour. Ash has nailed it yet again with a great new romance.
Nikki Ash never ceases to amaze me with her ability to create these characters and worlds that make you feel like your apart of the story!! Im sure im one of sooo many who anticipated Giselle and Killians story since The Pick Up ended and the wait was totally worth it!! Im a sucker for true romance with a fairy tale ending and this series is quite literally the fairy tale with real life mixed in and it makes for such an amazing read!! i would whole heartedly recommend everyone read this and just like anticipating this story im definitely holding my breath for On The Surface!!!
What a journey I’ve been on with Killian and Giselle! My emotions were definitely tested with this one thanks to Nikki’s exceptional writing!!
Killian and Giselle’s story is a special one. They both assume the worst of each other so never got on and didn’t even want to try. Until they had to… After a chance encounter or two they realise the other isn’t who they originally thought them to be.
Giselle, I can’t even find the right words to describe her. She is one amazing heroine!! She has had an incredibly tough life and is very independent not wanting help from anyone.
Killian also had his own issues to work through. He is super sweet and his heart is always in the right place.
I love angsty books and this one did not disappoint!! Thank you Nikki, it was phenomenal! I haven’t been able to pick up another book since finishing it as I can’t stop thinking about them!
I am very much looking forward to the next book in the series!!
Wow!!! What an amazing 5 star story this was. One that consumed me from the very first page read to the very last one.
Gisele is not who she appears to be. On the surface she is a controlled, secure woman. But underneath that she is something else. Killian is judging her based on what he sees on the surface. What he will find out will shock him.
Going Deep really lives up to it’s title. Gisele was really a great character that I admired. This was a beautifully written story with an amazing storyline. It was a deeply emotional kind of story. It was an emotional roller coaster ride. I might have shed a few tears here and there. Bottomline this is a must read.
Standalone told in a dual POV. I strongly recommend this story.
This book has an amazing amount of feels. I cried like a little baby laughed like a hyena and got my heart broken time and time again. This is a beautiful book about 2 people who are so broken they only work together.
It’s about hard hitting topics of loss and mental illness and stress. It’s about learning to start again and realising things can’t just be fixed but you can move on.
A very solid 5 stars
Wow!! Another great story with amazing characters from Nikki. This is book two (standalone) in her Imperfect Love series and I cannot wait for book 3! I loved being able to catch up with Nick and Olivia from book one as well, because hello…..we absolutely LOVED them!
We met Killian and Giselle in The Pickup and I already knew I’d love these two from their roles in that but I was not prepared to fall so dang hard. The chemistry between these two was there from the start, well before they even realized it and continued to get stronger and hotter throughout their relationship.
Once again Nikkis hero had me swooing….absolutely swooning ya’ll. Killian is such an a-hole at first as we start off as an enemies to lovers type dance. But man once he let his walls down, opens his heart and falls, he falls hard and all in. Ladies get ready to melt cause the way he doesn’t give up is everything!
Giselle our heroine is such a complex character with a rough upbringing that continues to present many challenges in her life. She is SO DANG STRONG, selfless, and absolutely incredible. Shes stubborn af and at times I just wanna smack her, but she is a woman who knows what she needs to do to care for those she loves, and wants to stand on her own two feet as well. Again as her many layers are discovered and she let’s love in and her secrets out, we see her vulnerable side and its absolutely wonderful. She is easily one of my favorite independent heroines.
This story deals with deep issues, broken and flawed characters who need each other more than know and it is truly beautiful to follow their journey while they help each through the “broken and lonely.”
“When you cant look on the bright side, I will sit with you in the dark ”
As Giselle would say…. “Read.The.Book!”
I absolutely loved everything about Killian and Giselle’s story. It was heartwarmingly real, raw and perfectly “broken”. While their love wasn’t perfect, it was perfect for them. Some of the obstacles that they faced, both together and separate, really touched my heart and made it impossible not to fall in love with them. I have a huge soft spot for alpha men that are huge softies on the inside and Killian definitely filled that spot! I highly recommend this book to any and all readers that love a good, edge of your seat, can’t put it down romance!!
