Standalone enemies-to-lovers football romanceGoing deep: In football it means running down the field for a long pass. You’re serious. Committed. Unstoppable. As a wide receiver, it’s a term I’m all too familiar with. It’s who I am, at least when it comes to my career. For the past decade, football has been the only thing I’ve allowed myself to commit to. That is until a beautiful, blue-eyed … a beautiful, blue-eyed temptress steps into my limo to escort me to a charity function.
She’s strong, independent, and quick witted. Everything I want in a woman. There’s just one problem. She’s not mine for the taking. But that’s not going to stop me from winning her heart.
I’m in deep with this woman. I’m running down the field with my arms and heart open, ready for the catch. Now all I need is for her to throw the ball.

This book was amazing! It touched some very touch topics in a beautiful way. Like always Nikki Ash did not let me down.
Wow, Nikki has done it again. I fell in love with Killian and Giselle. Giselle is a stubborn, strong, independent woman who has experienced some tough times and wants to do it herself. Killian is a good looking, charming when he wants to be, football star. These two constantly go back and forth with each other based on judgement. Once the walls come down and these two start to understand one another, you can’t help but get sucked into this rollercoaster or emotions. Killian and Giselle take you for one insane ride, but it is totally worth the journey. I could not put this book down, it’s an amazing read!
It took me a while to get into Giselle & Killian’s book. I’m glad I kept going because there were some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I loved that Killian & Giselle were ‘broken and lonely’ together. Both of them were flawed, but were exactly what each other needed in their lives.
I hope Celeste’s book is next!
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
Giselle and Killian brought me out of a serious book funk, but I’m afraid it gave me a killer book hangover in stead…
Because I have no spine, I started reading last night knowing I wouldn’t get far. Luckily today was an early day at work so I didn’t have to put the book down when I started up again… It had me hooked pretty much by just the cover.
As in any book from this author you get amazing main characters and a beautiful bunch of side characters. They are all so well written, that they come alive, almost jumping off the pages. Bringing chuckles, angry outbursts, tears and goofy smiles. How I freaking love this!!!!
This might be a romance, but as Nikki Ash often does, she touches on heavy topics with respect and sincerity which adds debth and weight to her stories. This is one of many reasons why I keep coming back for more.
Although other books from Nikki holds a special place in my heart, I’m pretty sure Going Deep bumped the others off the top shelf…
If in any doubt, yes! I really enjoyed my time with Giselle and Kill. A helluva a lot!
Nikki Ash is absolutely KILLING ME with this series. I have the mother of all book hangovers after finishing Going Deep. There is just no way you can pull my brain out of this Killian and Giselle obsessed trap now. I have no choice but to just read this book again until I can finally feel like I’ve gotten enough of them. So for the next eternity you kind find me reading this. No, but seriously, Going Deep is one of my favorite books Nikki has ever written. I loved everything about this book!
The sparks that flew when these two were at each other’s throats. The heartbreakingly real look at loving someone who’s struggling their mental health and trying so hard to get them help. The achingly sweet ways Giselle and especially Killian showed their love. And about a thousand other small details that would make this review waaaaaaay too long if I listed them all.
I went into this book already liking Giselle from the previous book, but now I more than love her. She just may be one of my all time favorite characters ever! She’s so strong, so selfless and loves so deeply that I found myself completely in awe of her more than once. Killian is a different kind of wonderful. Once those walls of his came down and his heart was given a chance to shine he had me melted into a puddle of swoony fan girl goo. He’s like everyone’s ultimate book boyfriend all wrapped up in a sexy package. Needless to say, I was a goner.
Going Deep is the second book in the imperfect love series. As much as I liked the first book, this one was even better! I loved everything about this book, especially how relatable the characters were. I love the transition of Killian and Giselle’s relationship. They start out not liking each other at all and always making snide comments towards each other. It was really fun to see them go from that to falling in love and becoming what each other needed. It was not the light read I expected, it was so much more. I absolutely loved this book and the amazing characters. I can’t wait to read Celeste’s story!!!
Nikki Ash delivers another 5 star read with Going deep. I loved Killian and Giselle. It was such a real story- real people with these types of struggles and what people do to take care of each other. Killian and Giselle have such chemistry and connection. Killian is an amazing character! I loved how Nikki Ash wrote him. I love the relationships of all the characters throughout the book. Friends who really care and support each other. Great great book! Take care of the people you love!
What can I say that others haven’t. Nothing.
This book was just fantastic. I loved every minute of it and I was so disappointed when it ended. I felt like I was living it right alongside them.
I honestly can’t recommend this book enough. You won’t be disappointed.
I don’t think I’ve ever devoured a book as quickly as I did this one! It was beautiful.
Going Deep is the story of two broken people finding light through the cracks and love in each other. Giselle and Killian were absolutely amazing to read about. This story will fill you up with so much love.
Killian is the perfect hero. Sexy, sweet, & man those alpha moments are to die for. He is perfect for Giselle in every way. I love love loved how strong she was as she learned how to accept that being vulnerable with someone is not weakness. Their dynamic was what hooked me from the start.
I absolutely cannot wait to read Celeste’s story in book three this summer!
BEST 5 STARS OF BROKEN, THE LOVELY WAY!!!
Oh Snap!!! I’m CRUSHING super hard on this book 2 of the Imperfect Love Series! I am in total love-mode with Killian and Giselle. These two…ROCKED my book world like a swoon-worthy lovesong; even when they were believing the worst in each other; I felt as though I was connected to them…and felt it all, because it was beautifully written that way.
OMGGG!!! I was so ABSORBED in every single word and all the quotes in this story especially my favorite quote, “She made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible.” THOSE WORDS imprinted my heart like no other. I know without a doubt when you read this book, prepare to lose yourself in its pages until the end! READ THIS ONE!!! I know I will be experiencing a high level of anxiety waiting for…On the Surface!!
So I have really been working on finding the right words for this book since I read it. Fantastic, overwhelming, amazing, heart wrenching…they all come to mind.
There is so much emotion that this book brings out in me. I truly relate to the main characters in different ways. These are two broken characters that find the most honest love with each other but are fighting it because of their circumstances. I went in thinking that it was going to be a light, typical enemy to lovers/football romance book. Boy was I wrong. I devoured this book in one sitting, staying up until 4am when I had be at work at 8. It was that good.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by the author)…
This book focuses on Giselle, Olivia’s bestie, and Killian, Nick’s bestie.
Well I wasn’t expecting all that but omg I loved it. Giselle, was one strong woman, doing anything and everything she had to take care of her family even doing a job she hated. Killian, who was being a major buttmole and being very judgmental about Giselle, actually won me over after learning about his past and how he helped Giselle. This book had my emotions all over the place and I didn’t know what was going to happen next. The connection between Olivia and Giselle was also very beautiful and you could how deep their relationship ran.
I’m sorry but I’m still not a fan of Giselle’s father, he didn’t really redeem himself for what he did to his family.
Jase and Celeste! There is definitely something there and *ahem* that bathroom scene, that may or may not have been them 😉
Going Deep is the second book in this author’s Imperfect Love series and I absolutely love it!!
Nikki has an amazing ability to take a story filled with real life struggles and making it a romantic swoon worthy story that will have you sucked right in.
I loved these characters, like seriously I loved them. Both have had hard lessons in the past and both are trying to do whatever necessary to stay above water.
Killian and Giselle give us a story that will have you laughing, crying and wanting to punch someone…so basically a whole whirlwind of feelings, this is a book I couldn’t put down. I can not express how much you need to go get this book now and get started!!
On the outside Killian and Giselle couldn’t be anymore different but, they come to realize they are both broken and lonely. Killian doesn’t like Giselle based his assumptions but, once he’s gets to know her, he realizes how wrong he was. Killian is the most romantic and swoon worthy hero ever and, what I loved the most about that it’s not cheesy stuff,he does things that are uniquely important to Giselle. I’m going to be honesty, there was a couple of times I wanted to yell at Giselle but, overall I loved her and all her imperfections. I throughly enjoyed watching Killian and Giselle fall in love and be broken together. I love that this book is hot but, at the same there’s this overall sweetness to it. If you’re looking for a book with all the feels then this the book for you!!
Broken, flawed characters are a Nikki Ash special and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Killian and Giselle are definitely one of my all time favorite couple’s of all of Nikki’s books. Sometime when life is hard we all need someone to give a helping hand. Killian is the perfect hero with love, patience, and understanding which lets Giselle know she is stronger when she lets people in. Ready for the next book bring it on!
4.5 Stars
I was looking forward to Giselle & Killian’s story since I finished The Pickup. There was so much animosity between these two, that I knew it would explosive chemistry once they got together. They are each beautifully broken in their own way and fit together perfectly. “Be broken and lonely with me” provoked emotion in me each time those words passed my screen. I liked the fact that Killian took charge and didn’t give in, that he supported Giselle through her journey and that he was always surprising her (good & bad). I loved the Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland theme throughout. I was glad that we had a bunch of Olivia, Nick and Reed appearances!
I can’t wait for On The Surface….Nikki Ash’s characters are addicting!!!
this book took my emotions and turned them all upside down and then somehow made me feel whole again! There is a lot of things that can happen when you let pride and determination mix. I loved how this story was told and I loved Giselle and Killian so damn much!! Killian started out on my sh!t list but it really didn’t take me long to truly fall for him. Giselle was trying so hard and sometimes we don’t always make the best choices when we really don’t have any good ones to make. This story was just everything and I can’t wait for more!!
Nikki knows how to hit you in the feels, mainly because she writes about what is real. Love isn’t perfect and Going Deep is another great installment in her Imperfect Love series. Killian and Giselle are broken and lonely but together they are magic. From football to rabbit holes this love story is the stuff of imperfect fairytales. You have to read this one!
Gahhhh. And i thought i loved The Pickup a bunch. Going Deep topped it I love Giselle and Killian in The Pickup and was so excited to read their story. It was such a good story. Im even more excited to read book 3 in june! And see everyone again. Including Celeste!
“No, no!” said the Queen. “Sentence first—verdict afterwards.” Much like Lewis Carroll’s famous tale Killian Blake has established a sentence on the Giselle he thinks he knows before ever exploring the woman she truly is. Killian learns when you judge a book by its cover, you miss out on the best parts. As Killian comes to realize the pages of this woman lead him into the light of the dark chapters from his own story will he have the courage to turn the page?
Giselle is a fighter, willing to do anything to make sure those she loves are protected and cared for, even if it means sacrificing every part of herself. She’s broken and battered but continues trudging on, balancing the pieces with a smile pasted on her face. When Killian Blake pushes his way into her life her resistance starts to fold..how can she keep her wall up when he continues to break through brick by brick.
In this story we watch two broken souls put down their shields, recognizing the best part of being vulnerable is the connection and strength that can come from going deep together.
For readers who are familiar with the Imperfect Love Series Going Deep will pull you down the rabbit hole make you question what you think you may know about these two characters. For those who aren’t familiar.. Just Read The Book – You wont regret it
