A lonely Texas Ranger, a gun-toting spinster, and a marriage of convenience — what could possibly go wrong?
Bolt Sanderson answers the call for more lawmen at the Western Joint Task Force in Ft. Bliss, Texas, to help fight the rise in border crimes. A lonely bachelor with no time for courting, he especially likes the fact there’s a mail-order bride agency down the street from his new post. Looks … there’s a mail-order bride agency down the street from his new post. Looks like finding the perfect woman to start the perfect family with will be as easy as picking out a gift from his favorite catalogue.
Scarlett Martinez can shoot, hunt, and track as well as any man, but she’s a complete failure as a debutante. She’s convinced she’s doomed for spinsterhood, until she runs across an advert for a mail-order bride willing to relocate to a crime-ridden border town. It sounds as if she’s finally found a man willing to overlook her lack of domestic skills. Until Bolt swaggers up to her on their wedding day, requesting an apple pie to celebrate the happy occasion… Why, she can barely boil water!

A fun romance. When Bolt went to pick up his mail order bride Scarlett he was tickled to see a rifle carrying beautiful woman. Even though she is not a normal housewife Bolt cannot be happier with his gun toting, hunting woman. Now if only they can get a fake fiance out of the way they can begin their courting. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Oh, wow! I loved this book! Ok, so I say that about every book I read! Bolt and Scarlett make a great pair! I loved the banter between them, and especially that Scarlett thinks she’s a failure because of the things she can’t do. None of that bothers Bolt, though, and it turns out she’s just the person he needs!!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
Going All In is one of the funniest mail order bride story I have ever read. When Bolt, a Texas Ranger decides he wants a family he puts an ad in the mail order bride agency. Scarlett wanting a new beginning answers the ad and leaves Atlanta for Texas. When Bolt sees Scarlett he is floored at her beauty. Scarlett finds Bolt equally attractive and when they kiss it is all over. Before they marry he finds out that she is as far away from being the normal wife as there could be. She can shoot and throw knives with accuracy of any man. But, cooking, washing and all of the other fun housekeeping duties she has no idea how to do. Bolt is fine with that. They make each other laugh and he knows they will get along if they can keep the men her aunt keeps sending pretending to be engaged to her away. A must read for any mail order bride fan!
This was such a fun story! I love books by Jo Grafford, but this one was so different. I simply couldn’t put it down.
Highly recommended.
I loved this book! Altho it is shorter than I normally read it is still a really good book. A mail-order bride and a Pinkerton agent work out all their differences and are very Happily married!
Headlines!! Texas Ranger Bolt Sanderson greets mail order bride Scarlett Martinez, at train depot! Rifle toting lass walks right up and throws her arms around him for a kiss!
Scarlett was not the usual wifely material. She like shooting, riding and anything outdoors so once he got to know her, he just might want to send her back!
I was totally enchanted! Loved Bolt(great name) and Scarlett (although she was from Atlanta, a far cry from one famous Scarlett we all know!) was a determined woman and it seemed like a match made in heaven. I mean a Texas Ranger and woman with so many skills of defense?
Sit back and enjoy this delightful tale with a little suspense, some secrets that some out, humorous banter, including a mouse and Molly Carpenter and know you will enjoy every single word!!
The author has penned a sweet, heartwarming and fun story. This is Bolt and Scarlett’s story and the character development is wonderful. Bolt, a Texas Ranger, and Scarlett, a former southern belle and MOB are ill prepared for marriage. Both of them have their work cut out for them if they are ever to reach a HEA. I loved this story and highly recommend it. I know you will love this story full of humor.
Hilarious! I laughed throughout this whole book. Bolt the Texas Rangers finally ready to settle down and have a family, decided to go for a mail-order bride. Scarlet having very unusual circumstances, answers the ad. Loved the scene of Scarlet getting off the train. I had my husband so curious at my laughing, but I’m just glad I chose to read it in the middle of the day. My usual reading time is at night, he would have been very unhappy with my outbursts, instead of inquiring ‘What’s so funny!’. I hope to read more of Scarlet and Bolt, and Molly and Denver. Wonderful characters! If you like clean, fun, mail-order bride stories, you can’t go wrong with ‘Going All In’. I highly recommend! I received this book from the publisher. The thoughts and comments are my own.
Bolt and Scarlett were great together! I think it was unusual in the old West to have a man who ordered a Mail-Order bride to not really care if she could cook, clean house, and do all the “normal” things women did in that time period! At first that’s what Bolt was expecting but as soon as he met Scarlett, he knew she was something different and he just liked her for who she was. He was a lonely man, living in El Paso, Texas and he wanted companionship most of all. Those other things weren’t as important. Their neighbor, Molly, is a hoot! I loved how Scarlett teaches Bolt to tolerate Molly! This is just a fun story and has many a fun moment! I definitely recommend it!
I was eagerly waiting for this book! It was a quick read and it was funny. I cannot wait for the next book to come out!
This was a reread for me but I enjoyed it the second time. Jo Grafford’s stories keep you involved in the story line with interesting characters, an action story line and a few twists.
Well, this is a fun story, thoroughly enjoyable, with a hilarious wedding scene. Scarlett and Bolt were meant for each other
