Godsend is the first novel in the Hell Yeah! Heritage series. If you ever wondered where those McCoy men came from…these historical novels will take you to their beginnings. Deeply sensual stories of romance and adventure, they will capture your imagination and your heart.History is definitely worth repeating.Thrust from his home, Austin McCoy travels west to build a new life for himself in the … for himself in the wilds of Texas. Civilization has not yet arrived to the wilderness where he settles and his nearest neighbor is more than two days’ journey through Indian territory alive with bear, cougar and wolves. While difficult, carving out an existence amidst these dangers is not what weighs heavily on his heart. With nothing and no one to share his days, Austin is lost. The answer to his prayers comes from a very unexpected source…
Jolie Dumas has also been torn from the only home she has ever known. The beloved daughter of a plantation owner and his quadroon mistress, she is horrified to be sold into slavery after the death of her parents. Bought and paid for, she is chained and walked from New Orleans to Texas. Before she can be delivered to her master, the slave trader is killed and Jolie escapes. Alone and vulnerable, she seeks a safe place to hide, not knowing the sanctuary she finds may end up being the one place she truly belongs.
When Austin opens his heart and home to the beautiful woman, he has no idea the future she faces. Knowing what awaits her if anyone finds out the truth, Jolie hides her identity from him. Having been betrayed before by those she trusted, she has no idea that in Austin’s eyes she could not be more perfect.
She is his Godsend.

I was surprised by how quickly the story drew me in. Then I was hooked and could hardly put it down until I finished reading it. Many of these books I give up on in the first chapter because they start out like an oxen plodding along. The ones I give up on also have too much useless dialog, but this book was different. It drew me along quickly and kept my interest throughout.
“Godsend” (Hell Yeah! Heritage) by Sable Hunter is a fantastic book. I absolutely loved Austin and Jolie’s story. I was hooked from the beginning and didn’t want the book to end. This story has love, loss, injustice, passion, new beginning, and so much more! I’m anxious to see what happens next! Highly recommend to all fans of romance, history, series, and happily ever afters.
Godsend (Hell Yeah! Heritage) by Sable Hunter WOW… what a great story…Libby and Cady go into the attic to find some outfits for the celebration…and they find some history… Austin and Jolie’s story comes to Cady in dreams and their tale is one I could not put down… being in their story with them was full of so many feelings and sometimes I held my breath afraid of what might happen…than goodness they get to their HEA and also Cady finds a connection to her family. Now I want more exploring in the attic.
It was beautifully written. Characters and surroundings were described in such detail, that I felt like I was there observing the story as it unfolded.
Nice story of a couple who find love and healing with each other. Adventurous and a page turner. Would recommend it to my friends.
I love all Sable Hunters books. But this one & Cowboy Heat are my favorites. Godsend is where it all began for the McCoy’s. They over came a lot with a happy ending. It’s sad to think how people where treated back in the 1800’s.
Excellent read.
It was a very good book showing true love!
I liked the story, very different from what I have read.
Liked this book.
Great book! Great story, great writing!
Wonderful story great ending
Loved this book. One of the best books that I have read in a while.
I loved how the book started in the present and “time traveled” back to tell the story. Neat perspective, intriguing story!
This was a really cool novel. You don’t often read romance novels where interracial love is prevalent, especially during this time in history. I liked the gentleness of the male character. I liked the historical aspect. I loved the romance, but at a lot of points I was on edge worrying about the safety of the two protagonists. I really enjoyed this.
I like stories based in Texas!
There are not many books that address the issues of bigotry in such a sensitive manner. Made me think of how we as a nation have preconceived ideas of how people should act. Enjoyed it.
Could have done without the steamy sex scenes. Always like early settlement stories. Only a little far fetched.
Another great read from Sable. I’ve read all of her published “Hell Yeah” series. Her books make you wish you were there.
Godsend is a fantastic historical western romance by Sable Hunter. Ms. Hunter has produced a book that is well-written and loaded it with a spectacular cast of characters. Jolie is orphaned and her uncle takes her in. She doesn’t get the same treatment as her cousin because she’s mixed race. When her uncle dies her aunt was happy to sell her to slave traders. Austin was forced from his home to make his own way. He owns his land and is doing well, but the loneliness is getting to him. Austin and Jolie’s story is packed with drama, humor, sexy bits, action and suspense. I totally enjoyed this book and look forward to my next book by Sable Hunter. Godsend is part of the Hell Yeah! Heritage Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
