Completely compelling!
Everything is starting to go wrong. What can Azia do? How will this ever get solved?
What a great book, wow! Completely compelling and extremely engaging! It got scary, brutal. This is not for the weak-hearted! So suspenseful and so pageturnery and so good!!!
Finished for now, but clearly there’s more to come. This isn’t the end.
Great semi-finale
This forth book in Azia’s story ends the difficult situation of a marriage she doesn’t want and to which she did everything in her power to stop, including an out of control bloddy tournament … Finally she gets the result she ever wanted but her mother’s situation just got worse and she has to leave Draconian to find the cure for her curse … Can’t wait to know what will her find in that travel and how her story will get involved with the next fairy tale, a must read series!!!
I adored J.A. Armitage’s “retelling” of A Sleeping Beauty in the first books of the overarching Kingdom of Fairytales series. The concept of this series, what happens after “the happily ever after” is a great one, and it’s superbly executed in this retelling, the last book of which, Goddess of Flames (Sleeping Beauty, Book 4) is an utterly perfect, and totally fun, ending. Highly recommended.
So it seemed like things were spiraling out of control in the last book – but that had nothing on what happens in this installment! Romance, danger, betrayal, battle, noble sacrifice, true love, searing loss, and yes, more secrets. So much is happening it is making front page everywhere except the Atlantide Conch…..what is up with them?
While some story arcs are completed and a few threads are tied off satisfactorily, this serial is just the beginning of a much larger tapestry and rather than some rushed deus ex machina ending, this story segues into the next section, leaving some overarching questions unanswered. Tune in next week 🙂
Short chapters you can read on your lunch break; thrilling enough you’ll want to read the whole thing in one sitting.
This is book 4 in a serial planned to include 52 episodes. As such they build on each other and tend to leave you hanging. That’s a good, thing – it’s part of the fun! They are quick reads, start at the beginning and enjoy the ride.
I have been provided with a review copy of Goddess of Flames by the author for an impartial review. This is the fourth book in the brand-new Kingdom of Fairytales series and the last episode of the Sleeping Beauty Retelling. I hope this isn’t the last time I will see Azia and her family I just still have so many questions that were left unanswered so I hope the author will revisit these great characters. I just had so much fun reading this episode that I just couldn’t put it down until I turned the last page. I can’t wait to read the next series in the Kingdom of Fairytales.
Azia will soon be married but doesn’t yet know to who. The competion that will decided who will be her husband will soon start but thinks will go really really wrong. This book also wrap up Azia story and in the next book we will follow another character.
The books should be read in order. Goddess of Flames is the fourth book in the Kingdom of Fairytales series.
I have really loved it and can’t wait for the next fairytale. I have received an arc of this book by J.A. Armitage.
