WANTED: Single dad needs nanny–In more ways than one. Martin “Brick” Bricker is living the good life. He’s playing the sport he loves, has all the women he can handle, and parties like a rock star. At twenty-six, he has no interest in slowing down or taking anything seriously —except hockey, of course. Then a knock at his door changes everything. Suddenly he’s the single father to a … father to a five-year-old daughter he didn’t know he had, and he’s trading his playboy ways for Barbies.
Amelia Stacey struggles to make ends meet and juggles her day-care job with a full load of college classes. When she’s offered a temporary, two-week nanny position making more money than she imagines, she jumps at the chance. Before she knows it, she’s in over her head, not just with her five-year-old charge but with the girl’s hot single father.
Brick always goes after what he wants, and he wants Amelia. Only responsible Amelia doesn’t want anything to do with the party boy. Struggling with fatherhood and his unexplainable attraction to his nanny, Brick has to figure out where his daughter and Amelia fit into his life. If they fit at all.
But one thing’s for sure: Brick can’t block this shot straight to his heart.

I absolutely hated Brick when this story started. By the end of the book I felt sorry for the poor sap. Having read the other books in the series I have followed Brick as the guy who hates clothes and loves the cold. I learned why in this book and was surprised to say the least as to why he loves the cold. Jami delivered a book I couldn’t put down even with life happening around me. Amelia and Macy were introduced in the this read. My heart hurt for Macy from the time Brick opened the door to her. Amelia is such a strong person to have kept this little clan together. Definitely going on my read again list! Thank you Jami for the hours of reading and enjoyment this book brought.
Getting a Family
Brick was his nickname, he was a great goalie but his world was about to change with one doorbell ring. Amelia was working for her sister in law part time while she was going to school but that some bad sides, until one day a good looking man walked into the day care looking for a nanny. Can he reform his ways and be a dad, can she trust again, and can they make little Maddie feel safe & loved.
This was a great read, I love hockey books and couldn’t put this one down.
Characters were fabulous and it was very easy to connect with them and the story line. Kept me entertained throughout.
Goalie Martin Bricker likes his freedom, he doesn’t do relationships, attachments, or anything of the sort, he is solely a one night kind of man, settling down just isn’t in his vocabulary. But that all quickly changes when he opens the door to a beautiful little brown eyed girl claiming that he is her father, and now her sole caretaker. At first Martin is certain there is a mistake, no way can he be a father, but when things start leaning the other direction he begins to realize he is going to need some serious help, he doesn’t know the first thing about being a father or taking care of children. So he hires a nanny, a very sexy nanny at that, and things at his place start to take on a whole new vibe… one that quickly changes his home from bachelor pad to family pad… and it scares the hell out of the normally sure and confident man!
Amelia Stacey’s life is non-stop hectic, between taking classes and working she barely has free time to have a social life, not that she really wants one anyway. The last time she wandered down that path it didn’t end so well, and she was left with a broken heart and a mountain of debt, that she is still trying to pay off. So, when the opportunity of a lifetime comes along she doesn’t think twice about taking it, there is a sexy hockey star standing before her offering her more money than she has ever made to care for his young daughter. She loves children, and the job he is offering will help lighten her load a little and give her the money she needs to get her head above water again, it is almost perfect for her… with the exception of having to keep her urges in check. Her new boss is sexy as hell, but she is determined to not fall prey to his advances… no matter how charming he maybe!
This emotionally charged story captured my attention and my heart from the first chapter and held on tight until the last page was swiped. I was immediately taken with Brick, the moment that man waltzed onto the page I was a goner, he completely drew me in with his witty one liners, and alpha tendencies… he was seriously something else!! Then Macy entered the picture and that little girl completely stole my heart, she was such a sweet little thing, and I loved that she had a feisty streak in her too, and could give her father a taste of his own medicine!! I loved this story so much, it was a well rounded read, that gave me the feels, made me blush, and left my heart happy. I highly recommend you meet this father-daughter duo their touching story is sure to keep you captivated from start to finish!
I got to the second or third chapter and stopped reading. The story line is a tired one and I’ve read so many books with the same basic theme. Hapless bachelor suddenly finds a child on his doorstep and meets the love of his life, the nanny. No thanks!
Another great story from one of my g0-to authors!
Great read!!
Good hockey romance
I wanted more. I would love a sequel.
I really like this series. The characters are really fun people to spend time reading
Beautiful story of a family coming together in a unorthodox way.
Good addition to the series csn be read as stand alone
This book was different from most secret baby books. Brick was a goaltender in the NHL and was quite a partier and playboy. So when a young girl arrived claiming to be his daughter he didn’t want to believe it. Hiring Amelia as a nanny was a good move on his part. He thought it would just be for a couple of weeks until the DNA results proved the child wasn’t his. Surprise! He’s a daddy.
As Brick always did with women, he hit on Amelia. She wasn’t having it though and shut him down fast. But could she keep saying no to him? I didn’t like the party guy Brick was at first. He was self-centred and egotistical. It took a while but he finally grew up and took on a parent’s responsibilities. There were times I sympathized with him as he struggled through his life-changing journey. Macy didn’t make it easy for him though. She was a typical 5-year-old. Happy and nice one minute then a brat the next.
I liked this story. My heart broke for Macy having gone through the loss of her mother so young. There were many humourous scenes. Many with Brick learning to be a father and several with his teammates. Adding a happy ending makes Goaltending a book I recommend to romance fans. Especially if you like children in your stories.
I really like this author and this book did not disappoint. I highly recommend this series.
Fun to read
Love the author Her books are always very entertaining.
Cute, quick read that I enjoyed. I like that it is a stand alone but still part of a cohesive series
An easy to read story about a hockey goalkeeper that is a real player, until his unknown daughter is dropped off at his front door. He has to arrange for someone to look after her. Boss and Nanny love story.
Interesting story. Hot and steamy. Hard to put down.
Every want to strangle a guy cuz he is stupid? Yup this book is for you!
