5 GOD IS PERFECTION STARS!! Wow, God blew it out of the water…He is by far my favorite at this point in the series. God and Zemira have one heck of a story to tell you and you need to hear what happened. This series has been phenomenal, so make sure to 1-Click this series and book.
“GLUTTONY” by K.Webster is bk 5 in The Elite Seven series. This is Baxter Goddard and Zemira Coleman’s story.
I have been waiting for Baxter aka God’s story since he was in Lust , as Rhett’ best bud. He wasn’t a main character in that book but there was something about him that caught my eye then and had me wondering about him, needing his story and here it is!!!
This book has more romance to the story along with that suspense vibe– which K. Webster is good at writing.
Baxter and Zemira met at a point when they are at a crossroads in their lives and their chemistry is intense. Baxter overdid so much that he was Gluttonous- legal and illegal. Then here comes Z into his life — someone who is innocent, sweet and is a good person who is trying to get ahead in life.
We delve into God’s past, the Elite task God has to do and the steamy romance between God and Z. This was a very good book in the Elite series, one of my favorites. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
My Rating: 4.7 stars *******
Omg what a great edition to this series its winding down and the suspense is thrilling. You can really feel the connection between the main characters the story plot is great. I can’t wait to read the next book.
Throughout the first four books of The Elite Seven series, Baxter Samuel Goddard V or his Elite name, Gluttony, has stood out among his brothers, even though he’s only played a supporting role up until his own book. Part of the reason he stands out is because he likes it that way and he isn’t afraid to vocalize his displeasure or do something extreme in order to get things done, and the fact that he’s Rhett’s best friend whose story was told in the first book in the series helps to keep him in the minds of readers as each brother is given his task and then must execute it despite its immoral or illegal nature.
I have to admit, like God, I was perplexed by the Elite naming him Gluttony; I felt that he represented other sins in a more complete way, especially because of his elitist attitude and his feelings that money can do whatever he needs it to, even when it shouldn’t. But then I started thinking about the fact that every person in The Elite are capable of all seven deadly sins, so those in charge choose the one that best illustrates the person’s overwhelming vice, and for God, everything he does is to the extreme, making it clearer as his story progresses that Gluttony is the perfect moniker for Baxter Samuel Goddard V.
God’s obsessive and gluttonous personality is illustrated in a number of ways, but the two that seem to depict it the best are his inability to walk away from Zemira after what happens and the lengths he goes to in order to prevent himself from becoming like his father, even if he’s still willing to indulge in the money and power that his father’s status and their last name provides.
God’s Elite assignment and his extreme and reckless behavior doesn’t only affect his life, but it ends up completely altering the life of a girl who was only trying to keep her life afloat and now, because of God’s actions, she’s left to figure out how to work through the mental and physical issues she’s left with due to someone else’s neglect.
Zemira Coleman may be fierce, but she is no match for Gluttony, and because he’s at fault and feels an overwhelming amount of guilt for the actions that caused her accident, he takes it upon himself to be her dark angel, helping her regardless of her hatred or her desire to go it alone.
God’s sad and broken parts call to her in a way that they shouldn’t because he was the cause of her accident…of her head injury…of her current struggles, but she can’t hate him…can’t deny she likes his company and the way he’s trying to take care of her, which means that as much as their worlds are strikingly different…as much as they view the world in opposite ways, they may just be each other’s salvation, but what that means for God’s position in The Elite Seven as well as as the heir to his family’s fortune gets even more unpredictable because there are always those who wish to bring these elite members down, even if it requires taking other people down in the process.
So far, Gluttony is my favorite book in The Elite Seven series. K. Webster does an amazing job of illustrating just how much God’s personality and his life resembles his sin of gluttony, and the story line never deviates from that representation. Zemira is the perfect heroine for God, and even though he broke her in a number of ways, they seem to be the only people who can help put one another’s broken pieces together in a way that will allow them to live the life they were meant to…by each other’s side.
4.5 Poison Apples
K Webster nailed it! Gluttony was simply AMAZING. From the very beginning of the series I was curious about God’s story and what I’ve read exceeded my wildest expectations. I dare even say that this is the best part of The Elite Seven so far. And just as the sin of Baxter Samuel Goddard V led to the tragedy at the beginning of the book, so later because of it he found something that no money could buy.
God… An heir to the fortune and son of the most influential man in New Orleans. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and apparently he can have everything with a snap of his finger. Therefore, I’m very satisfied that K Webster has decided to slightly cloud his perfect facade. God is struggling with something that’s unimaginable when you think of a guy with his position. I also loved the way he was with Zemira. Still cocky and somewhat conceited, but also more tender and a little bit uncertain. Zemira was exactly what he needed – a wake-up call and the proof that there are more important things in life than power and money. I’m glad that this girl made him work to deserve her. And as a heroine she was just wonderful. Despite the hard start the girl is down to earth and works hard to achieve anything. She could take advantage of God’s position, but instead of climbing on his back she brings him down to earth.
Gluttony is a great installment in The Elite Seven series. K Webster has done an amazing job in creating the plot and characters. I absorbed the whole story at one sitting and I’m very pleased with the turn of events that took place in this book. I can’t wait to read the remaining parts in this series!
These boys don’t mess around when it comes to getting revenge and protecting their own! K. Webster, you just knocked this series out of the fucking ball park!!!!
_________________________
Gluttony is the fifth book in The Elite Seven series and is written by K. Webster.
This novel is told in Baxter Goddard, also known as God or Gluttony, and Zemira’s point of view. I’m still fairly new to the wonderful world of K. Webster’s writing style, But as I read more I’ve come to realize I’m starting to become a fan of hers!
There’s just something about a damaged character with redemption in his eyes that really gets my heart pumping and my adrenaline flowing. And that pretty much sums up God. God is flawed in the most beautiful ways. I found this man is easy to love, no matter how egotistical or broken he is. He’s sinfully delicious, a complete addiction to anyone that crosses his path.
If you have been following along with The Elite Seven series, you already know how intense this series plot is getting and how wickedly messed up everything is! Every time I start a new novel I have a mini panic attack because I can say with all honesty, I have no fucking clue what is going on! Usually I can map out a series and I can pinpoint exactly how it is going to end. However, these authors have me completely stumped and I think that is why I find each book to be so freaking alluring. I love not being able to figure this shit out!
God has been the man I was most intrigued about, What’s not to love, this man legit has the world by the balls. He wants and needs for nothing. However, I had a strong feeling this man was going to be the most damaged of the brothers, and this theory has been proven correct. I was expecting this novel to be brutal, but the gut wrenching that came along with it, I was not expecting.
God’s greatest fear has always been the fear of turning out just like his father, a gluttonous overweight asshole. But when God’s task takes a deadly turn, his mind-set completely changes and he’s no longer worried about the man he’s going to turn into,. He’s now more focused on the young coma patient who occupies the hospital bed right next to his guilt. He’ll do everything in his power to make sure she recovers fully.
I loved seeing this humbling side of God. I expected this man to be all ego and nothing short of a complete ass. But K. Webster flipped the switch and made this man so much more than I initially envisioned. I loved his protective vibe especially where Zemira is concerned. He went from ego to swoon in mere seconds.
Without giving anything away, I’m going to leave it at this, Zemira is a freaking WARRIOR! This woman is the exact definition of strength! I need more of her and God!
I am completely blown away by this series! I love not knowing what’s going to happen next. These authors are all freaking geniuses when it comes to leaving us on the cliff, poised and ready to jump! leaving us over here hanging in the air not knowing what the hell is going on. All I know is something big is going to happen.
As for my overall opinion on Gluttony, this novel was epic! What I loved most about Gluttony’s story was the fact everything from his character to his thought process surprised me. K. Webster forced me to appreciate this man for who he is instead of the roll he plays in The Elite. He’s more than just a rich boy and an heir to his father’s fortunes. This man has a soul….although very damaged… a soul is still a soul.
I cannot wait to continue on with this series. If you’re in the mood for something dark and a little different try this series out. But be warned, it’s quickly becoming a serious addiction!
I had been worried about this series. Thankfully, Gluttony got us back on track.
God, AKA Gluttony, was a surprising character. He was so much more than a spoiled rich boy. We get to see his true self, the intricacies he hides behind his prideful facade.
Zemira is a wonder as well. Strong and compassionate yet vulnerable.
The overall storyline progressed nicely, although I felt the focus was on God and his Zemira. And this is 100% needed. We needed another story with some depth while keeping true to the world of the Elite. We got a few more answers with some new information slowly trickling in.
Can’t wait to see how Rush and Sloth go. That cliffhanger is so much, I need more!
Baxter Goddard (God) has lived a life of privilege and excess. He can have anything he wants when he wants and that is all he has ever known. The task he is assignment to accomplish should be easy enough but one miscalculation brings Zemira into his life and she becomes a game changer for not only him but his brothers as well.
God knows what his father and his brothers want him to do when it comes to Zemira but he is determined to handle the situation his way. She is the perfect match for him as she will not just forgive and forget but when she sees true remorse her giving heart shines through.
Full of twists questions were answered but more questions are raised, and it leaves us wanting to know what the Elite has in store for us next.
Homerun for K. Webster and Gluttony! Loved this book and the continuing Elite Seven story. There was so much more to the title character than I ever expected. I didn’t care a whole lot for this character in the previous books, yet I found him interesting and compelling. I wanted to know more about him. Well this book delivered! Lots of emotions in this book, captivating me from the start. K. Webster really endeared this character to me. This series is really good. It delivers on all counts, dark, suspenseful, action, deception, love, hate, anger, compassion, sadness, happiness…I could go on and on. I don’t want to spoil it for those who haven’t read this book and/or the entire series up to now. To those people, I’d say, don’t wait! Grab this book and the first 4 before it and get reading. It’s a fun ride!
**sigh**
Gluttony. Oh, gluttony.
It might be a sin, but Webster made gluttony look oh so good.
Read this. It’s awesome.
Oh. My. GOD!! Literally.
THIS BOOK. I feel like I’ve died and gone to heaven.
K. Webster just kicked up this twisted series a few notches with Baxter Samuel Goddard V aka “God” and LIT IT UP.
Gluttony was a fantastic addition to The Elite Seven and really moves the ongoing and interconnecting plots forward. It was a perfect mix of a character driven plot with half-Elite/half-romance, giving us the best this series has to offer.
I’ve been dying to get my hands on this book, not only because one of my favorite authors was tasked with his character, but God has had my curiosity piqued since the very first book in this series, being Rhett’s (Lust) best friend. I was intrigued by the man that seemed to have it all… but does he really?
K Webster adds so much depth with the complexities of God’s character, revealing the deep emotional issues and self-hatred that plagues him. True to his sin, he’s indulgent in everything to the extreme yet his gluttonous ways sicken him, but it’s in his nature and excess is ingrained in his DNA so he doesn’t know how to stop. That is, until his task for the Elite goes awry and the unexpected happens, sending him crashing straight into a spunky little spitfire by the name of Zemira that changes the course of his life.
And oh the FEELS with God and Zemira! This tiny little sassy thang, was a godsend. I adored her character! Strong-willed and not intimidated by a rich and powerful man like God, was so perfect for him. She was the absolute crutch that he needed in his life to show him that he was worth more than the things he could buy with money and the way he protected and took care of her had me melting into a puddle of mush.
But s**t is definitely going down in The Elite y’all.. Oh man, I was literally bursting by the end of the book from what happened! I won’t spoil it, but let’s just say a certain someone gets exactly what they deserve.
After K. Webster has completely wowed me with God’s book and setting up the plot for what’s to come, I am super excited for the next two books that will bring this explosive and addicting series to an end *sad face*. I’m telling you guys, if you haven’t started on this series yet… DO IT NOW!!
DREAMY’S REVIEW
This story. THIS STORY. THIS SERIES. It’s my freaking addiction, obsession, and I FLOVE IT!
I’ve always been intrigued by Baxter “God” Goddard V/ Gluttony. He was always disappearing in the shadows and definitely was in the Elite more for his best friend, Rhett/Lust. And when we finally got his story… I WAS PRAISING THE HIGH HEAVENS.
“It’s like an injection in my veins. Addictive and out of control.”
I loved this book. LOVED IT. FLOVED IT.
I’m not even surprised because my unicorn, K Webster, ALWAYS knocks it out of the park!! I wasn’t expecting any of what happened in this book. MY GOD! I was blown away, seriously.
Gluttony was achingly and heartbreakingly amazing, attention grabbing, all consuming, addictive, emotional, and so damn good. I can’t say enough things about it!
*****
God is extremely wealthy and when I mean extremely, I do mean like more money than damn near anyone. He sees money as a fixer and when he gets his task from the Elite… things sure do get messy.
Not only did it change God’s life and his brother’s lives, but it surely changed the life of an unfortunate girl, Zemira Coleman.
“Money talks. The Goddard name screams. And every single person in this town listens.”
God truly lives in the excess and overindulgence of everything and so in the event of what happened, he is determined to fix it in any ways that he can, in the means that he can.
“I’m a Goddard. It’s what we do.”
Zemira Coleman has to be one of my favorite heroines in this series! Her story is different unlike the rest, which made her stand apart. Her views on life and just the way she carries herself so beautifully really made me love her character.
I enjoyed her willingness with God and the development and growth of their relationship.
“God is becoming worse than any addiction a person could have. He’s a sickness. An infection. And as I watch him effortlessly start a fire, his beautiful smile in place, I realize I want to lick him, inhale him, make love to him. Whatever sickness he is, I want to make it mine.”
Behind all of that, we learn that there’s more to God that meets the eye. He was dealing with so much more than just the Elite, Zemira, and his family. He is dealing with an illness, insecurities, and full of self-hatred. The things he would do just to feel better about himself broke my heart into so many pieces!
I wanted to squeeze the life out of him and tell him that he’ll be okay!
“I’m torn between what’s engrained in me and helping her.”
I loved how the both God and Z helped each other to be the better version of themselves.
“Nothing sucked about the way God ravished me. The way he tapped into my soul and had a little taste. Maybe that’s the real Gods way of balancing the world. I, Zermira Temperance Coleman, could be just what this God needs.”
They didn’t give up on one another.
“She”s surging through my system like a hit of cocaine. She’s the thundering in my heart I thought only Xenical tablets could make happen. Zemira is in my blood, in my veins, in my soul. Burning through me like lava — hot and explosive. Changing me. Evolving me. Hiding the ugly parts and molding me into something new.”
They healed each other, they healed together, they leaned on each other.
Their love story was all-consuming, slowly developing, and the most realistic.
******
Gluttony was kind of like a breath of fresh air when it comes to The Elite Seven series. Everything is starting to come full circle in this twisted game, in this secret society. The last few chapters had my jaw dropping with OMFG coming under my breath.
To say how things are playing out shook me to my core is an understatement.
Sloth is up next and I loved how we got tons of glimpses of him in this book. He’s always been one to peak my interest! Trust me, you’ll want to start reading this series now! It’s only getting better!
K Webster has truly outdone herself and revved this series back up to full speed! It makes me want to reread this book all over again!
“It’s in my nature. I overdo… everything.”
FIVE ‘God saved me’ dreamy stars:
Holy Makarel, Gluttony was brilliant! K Webster has given God justice!
This story was spicy, in so many ways! He and Zemina just worked and I loved their chemistry. I loved their story, and I loved how it was told in K Webster’s true nature. I couldn’t have been more excited about it!
This book is graphic. Incredibly so, but it wouldn’t be K. Webster if it weren’t twisted and dark. However, it is so much more. It deals with sensitive issues and done in such a way that it hits you hard, but not in a way that puts you off from reading it. It was a truly enjoyable read.
And that ending… so cryptic, but man does it have me on the edge of my seat needing the next book in the series.
This series is seriously kicking butt in a good way. It is so addicting, and I am so greedy for this series!
FIVE STARS!!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

Money is my legacy, but I want something money can’t buy. I amd Baxter Samuel Goddard V. I am Gluttony.
Gluttony is the fifth book in The Elite Seven Series. You need to have read the first four before reading this one as they all tie in together. I could not wait after reading book one Lust, to get God’s story. He was such a huge mystery to me and it seemed like he was keeping things for his best friend and I wanted to know what. To say that God has it all is a understatement. He has it made. He has everything and can get anything else he wants. And he is a party animal. However people do not see the pain that he is living in for he doesn’t let them see it. I never would have guessed what his issues are and they will break your heart. This is where we get to watch God grow as a person and be the person that we all knew that he could be. There are huge changes coming for him and you have to read the book to find out what they are. I am sure not going to tell you! This book is so good. I think it is my favorite in the series. Now I can not wait to get more of Sloth and find out what he is all about. All these guys have surprised me and I am loving this series so very much.
My god!!
With k Webster comes gluttony and my god did she bring it, I loved everything about him, the sullen angry privileged man who wants for nothing, he thinks the world owes his something.
His test is much like the others but oh so different and it could destroy everything.
Zemira, fisty honest loveable are a few ways to describe this beautiful human. She brings out the best in every thing that she touches.
God is gluttony and the 5th elite seven
This isn’t one I’m going to forget in a hurry
It was sooooooo good! God pulled at my heart strings. Who would have thought that man had so much potential? God has this obsessive personality where he goes to the extreme to ensure things go his way. And with his father’s example of life you can understand where he learned it from. But there is hope for him, and Z takes care of him. She teaches him that it’s about having control of things before they get out of control. That a lot, big and expensive doesn’t translate to happy. And honestly after reading his desire to be different you would love to be the object of his obsession. Makes you understand why she can’t hate him and can’t say no to him.
You will love this book because it has a little bit of humor and a lot of answers. Because this guys are finally taking charge. As brothers they’ve become the family all of them were missing. And control never felt so just. God will even give you a sense of pride when he applies the best lesson he could have learned from his father. A Goddard always has the power.
Gluttony is the fifth book in the Elite Seven series. This is Baxter Samuel Goddard V story.
The only son to the Goddard name and it’s all his for the taking. Money, power, good looks, a great body, and all the girls but money doesn’t buy everything.
One night changes it all nearly taking a life. With big brown eyes, she’s the one he’s been searching for his entire life.
Zemira is a problem. One that needs to go away but he doesn’t want to let go.
They’re drawn to each other but every time they get too close she pushes him away. She wants to hate him for what he’s done to her but struggles with the way she feels about him.
I was completely torn. On which side to be on. You can’t blame Zemira but then you feel terrible for God. Especially when he protects her and takes care of all her needs. She’s the missing part of his life. She makes him a better person and he doesn’t give up until he has her.
“Zemira is in my blood, in my veins, in my soul. Burning through me like lava-hot and explosive. Changing me. Evolving me. Hiding the ugly parts and molding me into something new.”
I fell in love with this couple. K. Webster delivers once again. I can’t wait to see where the story takes us in Sloth. The next book in the Elite Seven.
Advanced readers copy provided in exchange for an honest review.
4.5
Lovedddd Gluttony! It was addictive, hot and I couldn’t put it down. God is one of the characters I was instantly drawn to and curious about since Lust, and K Webster did not disappoint.
Gluttony was a very satisfying read with noticeable character and story developments. We got truly enjoy God and Z’s relationship while getting more of The Elite.
It was also interesting to know what God struggled with. I never imagined that this is how his story would turn out but it fits him and his sin so well! I’m really impressed with how K Webster used God to bring awareness to a very important issue that is very much present around us.
It took me a bit to warm up to their relationship since the poor girl/rich guy isn’t always my favourite to read but Z and God won me over pretty fast as they continued to develop and help each other along the way.
Gluttony is by far the best book in the series yet!
God & Z’s story was such a beautiful one and as much as I’m excited for Sloth, I’m also excited for the new Greed which will also be co-written by K Webster.
This series started off with a bang somewhere along the way it lost a little momentum but what a way to revive this amazing intriguing series. I knew once we got inside Websters mind it would become roller coaster ride of emotions. And I wasn’t wrong! Her ability to keep us intrigued while answering questions is what blows me away every time.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat! I felt I was in the middle of an action packed movie. I was literally jumping in seat yelling like a crazy women. I don’t know what I enjoyed the most, the fact this story was coming back to life, or the events and moments I felt. Clearly this book was more than I expected!
The Elite, well it’s basically a messed up club! I love what it stands for, how it brought them into this brotherhood. But having them have these crazy task they must complete is what makes the story. These tasks ain’t no joke. But in the process it changes them for the better! I don’t know if it’s meant with this purpose but somehow it makes each of them stronger and better! GODs task did just this! Even though his task almost killed him in the process it clearly became a blessing in disguise, in the end it made him realize who he truly was all along.
I love how k Webster’s mind works! It’s been few years now since I was introduced and since book 1 I’ve been obsessed. I swear there hasn’t been not 1 book I have not enjoyed! I love the feels and journey she takes me on. no matter what I never know what to expect and nothing I ever think will happen, happens! The excitement I’m left after reading her books is like no other, no matter what I’m always left with some kid of feeling. Simply my favorite author since day one!
You know how you have really high expectations because this character has been such a presence in the previous books? That’s how it was with God, and yes, for maybe the first few chapters, God was definitely living up to those expectations of mine, but then that vested interest of mine waned during most of the book only to bounce back by the end. I know, I know–that sounds weird and all. I liked God and I appreciated that there was more to him than being some spoiled rich kid who thought his nickname of “God” gave him permission to think he was god and master of all he surveyed, although if we’re being honest here, the guy really did have a whole lot of power at his fingertips thanks to his family name. A number of loose threads were kinda-sorta-maybe tied up here, and I’m guessing that’s because this was originally supposed to be the second to the last book in the series until unforeseeable circumstances mixed things up a bit. While Gluttony is not my favorite among the Elite Seven books, I still enjoyed it at four stars.
