Gloria DeVry has just watched her twin sister find love in the tiny Old West town of Redemption Bluff, Kansas, and now she wants a true love of her own.She thought the town doctor was the best choice, even after Seamus O’Connor treated her like his one and only. But really, how could a well-brought-up Southern belle even think of marrying an Irish saloonkeeper like Seamus? Even after the War … after the War Between the States took most choice from her.
Seamus killed a man to protect Gloria’s family, but the guilt of murder drove him away. Even when Gloria gets him to return – and is hurt in the process – he still has to face the posse that passes for law in Redemption Bluff and the difficulties of the love triangle formed by himself, Gloria and the doctor – who’s now treating her because of him.
When Gloria heals, will her heart turn against Seamus as it has before, or can she accept him as he is? And after rejecting Seamus, dare she hope for a second chance?

Redemption Bluff… What an apt name for so many living there that needed exactly that, even if it took awhile to find it.
Gloria and her sister had ended there and now her sister was married to a man she loved. Gloria just felt alone. Of course she had caused a lot just by her ways, but she was trying to change that. She had to find Seamus, the former saloon owner, because he had been missing for several months and she just wanted him to come back. She knew she had cut him deeply with her last words and now everyone was thinking he was a murderer, having shot the man who was about to kill her uncle.
Poor Gloria, finally trying to do the right thing and she ends up getting stabbed.
Once I started the first page I was pulled into the story and could not stop. Kari Trumbo creates the characters with so many facets and emotions, I can see them in my mind. I could not wait to see how Seamus and Gloria would come together and now I have my eye on Doc and Reese. Just wonder what their story will be? Truly great story and addition to this series!
I didn’t like Gloria in the previous books in this series. She was so judgmental of her sister Bonny and the people of Redemption Bluff, but like the rest of the characters of that town she showed in this story that people can change. There were some crazy moments as she tracks gunslinger saloon owner Seamus after he left town and he accidentally stabs her and then she’s delusional from the blood loss and kisses him and then Doc Parker. I like Seamus’s tough former prostitute sister Reece who has feelings for the doctor, but thinks she’s not good enough for him. I hope she gets her own romance in a future book.
Redemption Bluff is an interesting town and Gloria and Seamus are two residents at the opposite ends of the “social” scale. Kari Trumbo’s characters always come to life through her words. I thoroughly enjoyed this book but it helps to understand this book if you have read the previous ones in the series. The tension between Gloria and her twin sister plus the rest of the town is explained in earlier books. I look forward to the next book.
As this series progresses, I find it just keeps getting better! Gloria has been not so nice to her sister, and just about everyone in Redemption Bluff. She doesn’t respect anyone, and looks down on them if she is given a chance to.
Seamus loves her in spite of herself. He doesn’t feel good enough considering his past. But this town is for these people to gain a fresh start in life and leave their pasts behind.
Gloria finally realizes it is she that needs to change, and she begins to slowly work on it. It is one of the hardest things she has ever had to do in her life. Seamus leaves and she is desperate to find him. How will she do this when no one in town even likes her? This book is so well written and I enjoy the character development. I love this Authors work and will definitely be reading the next book!
This is the first book I have read in The Redemption Bluff series and I really enjoyed this story. I loved the hero and heroine and the supporting characters. Since this is book 5, I don’t know anything about the other characters, but from reading this book I know I will be going back to book 1 in this series and catch up.
This is an easy read, a page turner, and very enjoyable.
I highly recommend this story.
I was gifted this story and this is my honest opinion.
This book is so good!! I loved everything about it. It’s well written and holds your attention. This is a wonderful story set in the town of Redemption Bluff it has action, drama and romance. This is a clean western romance that was a joy to read. I received an ARC copy and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
