Executive assistant Lori has finally said those three little words to her boss. Goodbye, I quit. Then she sort of ran over him. It was an accident. No, really. It was. Now he can’t remember anything–and it’s up to her to keep his billion-dollar corporation running until he gets his memory back. CEO Jackson Sinclair wakes up in a hospital to a life he can’t remember. The only person who feels … who feels familiar is Lori. The more he learns about his past, though, the more it disturbs him. He was kind of cold, and he can’t imagine why she put up with him. But he has a company to save, and it seems like his lovely assistant is hiding something from him.
As his condition shows no signs of healing, Lori can’t help but wonder what’s best–telling the truth about his accident and losing the man of her dreams, or keeping quiet and living the best lie of her life.

PREDICABLE
I so loved this book! Couldn’t put it down! Great characters, great storyline and well written!
Lori has finally had enough of being the invisible efficient, capable and reliable executive assistant to cool and distant Jackson Sinclair. She’s been pining for him but he’s more into models and socialites. She quits then runs over her ex-boss with her car. He wakes up an amnesiac and has to re-invent himself with Lori’s help. He falls in love with her and that should have been the story.
But there’s Sinclair Enterprises to be run and deals to be brokered with a CEO who doesn’t remember a thing from his past. Lori and Jackson get closer with Lori dreading the day when his memory will return. Then what will Jackson be, the old cold and distant one or the newer warmer version she’s fallen in love with. Giving up the Boss is an engaging book full of hope and love.
Giving Up the Boss by Victoria Davies is the story of Jackson and Lori.
Lori has been in love with Jackson her boss for a while but has made the decision to leave him and the company…no longer able to hide her pain. But when she goes to leave she ends up hitting Jackson which has caused him not to remember and his family thinks its ‘best’ if Lori stays and helps him along with the company through this set back. But the after accident Jackson is so much more caring and overall changed man. But Lori is worried how he will fee about her once he knows she left the company and hit him with her car….
Good office romance story!
Giving Up the Boss begins just like the title suggests. Executive assistant Lori Carlow quits her job because she has crush on her boss, Jackson Sinclair, who won’t even look her way. Starting over and forgetting all about Jackson is all Lori wants to do, until she hits Jackson with her car.
I felt for Lori. She knew Jackson couldn’t remember what happened and what would happen when his memory came back and he realized he didn’t give her the time of day. Could her heart really survive that?
I absolutely loved Lori. She is strong, she is smart and she is sassy. Jackson on the other hand, he took some getting used to. Sure, when he didn’t have his memories he was sweet, caring and nothing like everything described pre-accident Jackson.
Overall, I did enjoy this book. It was fun, it was sexy and the two main characters had amazing chemistry. I loved reading how Lori and Jackson’s characters grew over the course of the story. I couldn’t put this story down!
4.5 Stars
Lori finally finds the courage to quit her job as an EA to Jackson, the company’s CEO. However, she won’t be able to leave after all. While driving away, she hits him and he wakes up at the hospital with amnesia. Now Lori finds herself helping him go through the next weeks. She always had a crush on him and this new Jackson makes it even harder for her to resist him! How’ll everything go down? Will Jackson remember again? And when he do, how’ll he feel about Lori?
I really enjoyed this book. It’s fast-paced and a little funny. The story is equally sexy and sweet. It was nice to see a different, more real Jackson. The chemistry between Jackson and Lori is so hot! This book is suitable for a light afternoon read or to take it with you at the beach!!
We’ve all been in the situation when we wanted something/someone we couldn’t have. In this case, Lori wanted Jackson Sinclair, sexy, CEO, billionaire, and… her boss. There’s no way she can continue being his executive assistant, so she does the logical thing. She quits! In the process of quitting, she sorta, kinda… runs him over with her car and gets amnesia. He wakes up in the hospital a completely different man. To save his company, Lori and Jackson must make the company, competitors, and his board believe everything is absolutely fine. Can they keep up the charades without slipping up? Will regaining his memories revert Jackson back to who he was?
I thought was absolutely adorable. Lori was a godsend to Jackson. She was a complete gem she didn’t think he paid attention to. This was a charming story which included an office romance. The Jackson Sinclair the readers get to know is completely different from the Jackson his staff knows, and he’s truly lovely and down to earth. Lori was sweet and you felt for the predicament she was in. Do you tell the truth and watch him grow to hate you, or do you tell him the truth and hope the person he is now will be the same person after he regains his memories? It was a tough situation, and it was well told. This was engaging, funny, and sweet. This was my introduction to Ms. Davies, but I look forward to reading more from her. Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled: Indulgence for giving me the chance to read and review. For also showing anyone can turn over a new leaf, and become a better person.

Giving Up the Boss by Victoria Davies is a fast read that has a dash of naughty, a little spice and everything nice. I devoured this book hook, line and sinker. Each word, line and chapter reeling me in.
Lori Carlow is an Executive Assistant at Sinclair Enterprises. Or, she was, until she quit. On the day she gives her notice, she accidentally runs over her boss with her car.
Jackson Sinclair is a genius who controls the billion-dollar empire called Sinclair Enterprises. He now remembers nothing.
With Jackson now having amnesia, Lori must agree to continue on temporarily as his EA. There is a corporate takeover that is brewing and Jackson needs Lori more than he ever has
As Lori preps Jackson for important meetings, she sees a new side to Jackson. One that is a lot more caring and passionate.
Jackson now wants nothing more than he does Lori. She, however, is reluctant. He has never hinted or shown any attraction to her before the accident. Eventually, she relents and the passion between them explodes.
Will their new relationship survive if Jackson regains his memory? Or, will she have to give up the boss for good?
This is a wonderful book that I enjoyed thoroughly. I loved how the characters’ dynamic changed throughout the book. How Jackson becomes more selfless and Lori becomes a tad selfish to get what she wants.
The banter between them is entertaining and had me flipping the pages.
I loved Jackson’s character. He was kind, caring and loving with Lori however, I only fell in love with him at the end.
Lori was smart and sassy. I enjoyed seeing her take what she wanted after so long.
Everything about this book just worked for me. It was a fun, sexy and addictive read that surpassed all my expectations.
A lovely romantic story. It was very sweet and charming. I loved the way the author used inner monologue to give funny asides to what the characters were really thinking and not saying out loud. This is a page turner and a book I would read more than once.
Lori Carlow’s days as being an executive assistant at Sinclair Enterprises are over, she is giving her notice, grabbing the last of her things and walking out the door, it’s time to close this chapter on her life and create a new one. But when she tells her boss Jackson that she is ready to move on, and that there is nothing that will change her mind about staying he has a little trouble accepting it. He thinks they have a great thing going at the office and she is a vital part of making everything flow as it should, and he really doesn’t want to lose that, but she can’t go another day pining after him and him not even realizing that she has feelings for him. For years she has watched him whisk away starlets and models for a nights on the town, and every single time she has hoped that just for a second he would look at her like that, and take her out and wine her and dine her… but it’s never going to happen!
So, she tells him one last time that her time at Sinclair is ending, and heads for the door, and once she is safely in her car she bargains with herself and agrees once she is in the confines of her apartment that she will let the tears flow, and finally let him go. But just as she starts to leave he darts out in front of her car, and she runs into him, and that one little bump creates a whole new host of issues for her that she is no where near prepared to handle. Now Mr. Sinclair is seeing her in a whole new light, and she isn’t quite ready to break the truth to him and dim that light!
Giving Up the Boss is a charming little office romance tale that is sure to leave romance readers hearts rejoicing.. the story line is engaging, the characters are well crafted, and the happily ever after is quite promising! As soon as I read the synopsis for this one I knew it was right up my alley, and after reading it I am happy to report my instincts were spot on, these two took me on quite an enjoyable literary adventure, they made me smile, made me swoon, and they left my heart happy! If you like office romances heavy on heart, with some steam and humor sprinkled in here and there then I highly suggest you check this one out, you won’t be disappointed with what you find!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
