Review:
The writing style flows smoothly and it defines the characters very clearly through their actions and words. The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and I could picture in my mind’s eye the murder site and all the things that happened.
The characters are well developed and well rounded. Audrey is getting used to her new normal, having her friend, Ben, around as a ghost. At least she still gets to be with him, instead of missing him forever. When they have to find the killer of a local psychic, it will take all of her smarts and all of his ghosting if she is going to be successful. And Thor, the talking cat, helps her as much as he can, unless he is eating!
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a ghostly cozy mystery. I really enjoy this series and I cannot wait for the next one.
This is the second book in the Ghost Detective series and I loved it just as much as the first. Audrey hits all the right spots when it comes to a heroine with her klutziness and sweet personality. I really can’t wait to see how she develops as the series progresses. This story introduces us to more secondary characters that I think are going to bring a lot of fun to the books, too. The mystery is, once again, well written and not one I was able to figure out until the end. If you read a lot of cozies then you will appreciate this. I will admit that the thing that keeps me coming back to this series is definitely the characters, though.
Give Up The Ghost, the second book in the Ghost Detective series is a fun cozy paranormal mystery. Along with her best friend and ghost extraordinaire, Ben, her talking cat, Thor, and, of course, Detective Kade Calloway, AKA Captain Cowboy Hot Pants, Audrey Fitzgerald is hired to find who murdered a local psychic. Is it related to the bank heist she has was caught up in? As the PI in training gathers up the clues, she will find herself in strange situations. With a bit of romance, a lot of laughs, and some cringing moments, this book is a fun, entertaining read.
I’m loving this series and happy I’ve found a new author to love.
What do you get when you combine ghosts, a talking cat, murder, a PI and a sexy detective? The awesome book 2 of the Ghost Detective series!! Each book solves an individual case, yet the stories are interwoven. There is no shortage of mystery, excitement or snark in this series!! And the characters are spectacular!!
Fun mystery with a gal that sees ghosts and talks to a cat!
Give up the Ghost by Jane Hinchey is book 2 in the series and has the main character, a gal that can see and talk with ghosts, solving another murder case. This one almost gets her killed. Thor, the cat, helps out. He is my favorite character. The hot detective is on the case too so there is a touch of romance in the air! An enjoyable read for sure!
I loved Give Up the Ghost. This book is so fun and interesting. I did not want to put the book down. The characters are relatable and interesting. I really enjoyed the character interactions and humorous conversations. The mystery is well developed and has many twists to keep you guessing. Give Up the Ghost is a wonderful book. I highly recommend it and look forward to the next book in the series.
This is the 2nd book in the Ghost Detective series. In this book, Audrey finds that her skill of seeing ghosts extends to more than her best friend. The local psychic is killed and Audrey must figure out who killed her. This is a great book with lots of hilarious scenes. This is definitely a book not to be missed.
What a fun read. Audrey is caught in the middle of a bank robbery, which begins a new adventure. This entertaining cozy mystery is well written, has an interesting plot and amusing characters. I’m eagerly awaiting the next book. I received this book free and chose to make a voluntary, unbiased review.
This was an excellent book. I enjoyed reading it very much. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys mysteries and ghosts in the same book.
I loved it. Amazing. Fitz can get into a lot of trouble. She is black and blue half the time but she does not quit and she does not stop until she finds out what she goes after. A woman who has a lot of courage. She can even think if she is afraid, she doesn’t freeze. A good thing if she wants to be a PI. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
First book was great but this second book just goes that little bit further! It’s funny and clever, it’s entertaining and you will not be able to put this cozy clean paranormal murder mystery down! With a fantabulous but clumsy female lead and awesome secondary characters, a talking cat and ghosts this had me laughing out loud on several occasions and I cannot recommend it enough!
Fun, twitchy bank robbery & murder involving Audrey Fitzgerald (Fitz). Another ghost, Myra, comes to play. I love the red herrings and right turns this story gives out. Police detective Kade Galloway, aka Captain Cowboy Hot Pants, is on Fitz’s and Thor the cat’s, speed dial and in her corner still. Get this entertaining read…You’ll love the ending!
Red Robin
Jane has a new mystery on hands, a psychic who didn’t predict her death. I crack up every time she uses her nickname for the detective. Jane and Galloway make for an interesting team in solving a bank heist and a murder mystery. Looking forward to the next book.
I loved book one and I’m happy to say book two is just as wonderfully fun and exciting as I was hoping! I just love Audrey and how real she is. This book has another mystery with action galore, plenty of humor and some romance. I cannot wait to get my hands on book three!
Give up the Ghost is the second book in the Ghost Detective series.
I voluntarily received and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Final Rating: 5 Stars
This is the second book in the Ghost Detective Series by Jane Hinchey. Audrey, after inheriting a PI business, car, home and talking cat from her best friend Ben (who was murdered – ((see Book 1)), is a budding PI in training under the watchful eye of Detective Kade Galloway. While stopping at the bank to sign some papers, she and others are present when the bank is robbed. What ensues is Audrey’s attempt at trying to solve the robbery. Oh, did I mention that Audrey can see and speak with ghosts?!! Audrey is visited by the ghost of local psychic Myra. Overall a great book and continuation of the series. I received an advanced reader copy and am leaving my honest, unbiased review. I can’t wait for the next book to come out!
Book Two in this series, and it’s as good as the first. Audrey and her ghostly best friend Ben find themselves involved in solving another murder. This time, it involves another ghost, one of a psychic, and a bank robbery. There seems like there might be some connection between the two, but is there? Detective Kade Galloway, aka Captain Cowboy Hot Pants, is along for the ride as well, and as he helps Audrey, he also raises the temperature with his handsome good looks.
This was a great read and a page turner. It’s hilarious, witty, and highly entertaining. Audrey’s klutziness and penchant for attracting bad luck, and her cat Thor, formerly Ben’s, add plenty of quirks to keep things interesting, while Kade Galloway keeps things hot.
I’d call this another hit from the pen (or computer) of Jane Hinchey. I’ve yet to be let down by one of her books. I highly recommend this one, and while it might be best to read book one first, I think this book can stand on its own.
I received a ARC of this book from the author. While I appreciate her generosity, it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reactions to reading this book.
Audrey has found her drive (and a great new car) sadly it came at the expense of her best friend who was murdered he left everything to her in his will including his PI business. But she is not sad, because Ben is still with her, he appeared back to her as a ghost!
I loved this book, it really fleshed out the characters of Audrey and Ben, Audrey is working her way to her PI licence, finally she has found a job that she likes prior to inheriting the business she was a constant Temp having never found anything she liked, coupled with the fact she is super clumsy, if there was a super power in clumsy Audrey would be it! If there is a kerb to trip on, a seam to rip… yup Audrey!
Jane has really worked hard making this book action packed, and it is, right from the off, and everything links together so well, the conclusion is so good, you can see how all the dots line up, there are no missing pieces,
Highly recommend,(If you haven’t read book 1 you should, though it is not necessary)
Haunted and hilarious. You don’t stand a ghost of a chance of not laughing while reading this book. Between the smart, but accident prone heroine, the ghost of her best friend, his talking cat, and the other quirky characters this is a thoroughly entertaining read. This is my honest voluntary review of an advanced reader copy of this book.
I liked this book as much as the first! The characters work well together. Audrey is still getting the hang of owning her best friend’s PI business. Ben (Audrey’s best friend who is a ghost) does his best to keep her out of trouble but she does her own thing. Can her ghost best friend along with detective Kade keep Audrey out of trouble or will she wind up getting herself killed? the Ghost detective series is beginning to be one of my favorite series to read. I can’t wait to see what comes next! I received this as an ARC for an honest and unbiased review.
