The title might be a little alarming, but this was an awesome book. I LOVED it and can’t wait to read a second book in this series (is it out yet?!).
Jane didn’t know much of anything about witchcraft until she discovered a hidden room in her new house. Well, even then she still had some reading to do … with a few spells, Jane is irresistible to men, has a cat familiar, and a whole heap of trouble from a warder who is supposed to keep her from using magic.
I couldn’t put “Girl’s Guide to Witchcraft” down, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an easy, entertaining read.
An engaging chit-lit romp, nicely set up for more books to come. I’d describe it as Bridget Jones with spells.
Enjoyed Jane as she discovers her witchy powers, gets to know her warder, the gorgeous David Montrose and her cat-turned-familiar Neko. Her relationship with friend Melissa (always on her first date) felt real and I enjoyed the background stories with her grandmother.
The nerd in me REALLY enjoyed the research in minerals and crystals and about Thomas Jefferson, and I loved the Washington setting.
It’s a book.
Is a good book? No. I don’t like Jane and everyone else is a sketch. Do I regret reading it? Not really. I got suckered by the cover and title. Live and learn.
Very original. It’s nice so see something different, Odd characters, situations, funny.
Fun to read!
I found this book so farfetched it bordered on ridiculous. The main character was just a total ditz and following along trying to figure out why she was doing the things she did was exhausting as a reader. This was just not my cup of tea.
Fun take on a grown woman finding out magic is real and that she’s actually a witch – first in a series. The mystery that dragged her into the witching world is resolved in the end, but the potential romance is left hanging, as are a lot of dangling details. Not a standalone story.

Good read
Well written.

Fun read. More, please.
A very original novel about a confused librarian who accidentally discovers that she is a witch. This is a great entertaining read.
Cute very good if your stressed and you need to put your head in a fun place.
Great book! Beautifully written, correct grammar, no misspelling, and a wonderful, funny story! A rarity these days!
This was a great read. There was action and magic around every corner.
I loved the subject matter and her witty humor.
Cute romance story with a metaphysical, witchy twist. A light read with humor. I liked it.
I love this particular style of writing. The witty inner dialog of the protagonist (Jane) is what made this book entertaining. It held my interest and kept the story moving.
I gave this four stars because the plotline could use some tightening as it contains several instances of unnecessary plot filler. In one instance, there is a long scene where Jane cooks a meal for a love interest. It’s a lot of detail about where food items are purchased, the ingredients needed, and how to cook the entire meal. That type of information does not interest me unless I’m reading a cookbook, and does not help move the plot forward.
Unique take on a fun theme. I want to read more of them!
