Her body is frozen, unable to move. Her eyes are locked on the blood leaving her body in a steady string of droplets, collecting in the bone ash porcelain bowl engraved with intricate gold leaves. Her parted lips let out a shriek that no one hears. He just smiles and wipes her tears with cold fingers.
“Wow. I think I just fell head over heels in love with a fictional character. Tess Winnett is … Winnett is one of the smartest FBI agents and profilers I have come across yet and with analytical skills to rival Sherlock Holmes. Hats off to Leslie Wolfe for easily the best thriller I have read in this genre for many, many years!” – Manie Kilianon, five stars review on Amazon.
The girl: missing
After fifteen-year-old Kaylee disappears without a trace, FBI Special Agent Tess Winnett is assigned to the case that falls outside of the normal purview of the FBI. With every lead she uncovers, more questions are posed with only one possible, terrifying answer: there are others like her who have vanished, never to be seen or heard from again.
Is there a pattern in these disappearances? What happened to the others who have vanished? Is there a connection, or is Tess chasing shadows?
The first twenty-four hours: critical
Frantic for answers and painfully aware of each passing moment, Tess has a choice to make, one that could save the life of a young girl: was Kaylee’s disappearance a singular event, or was she the latest victim of a serial killer no one knew existed?
The odds of finding the girl alive drop with every second passing by and making the wrong choice would seal her fate. Her blood would be on her hands.
The best-selling author of Dawn Girl is back with another suspenseful, gripping crime thriller. If you’re a fan of David Baldacci, Melinda Leigh, and James Patterson, you will enjoy Leslie Wolfe’s enthralling police procedural that will keep you reading until the last page.

I enjoyed this book. It did seem a lot shorter than normal and didn’t contain the twist and turns I would expect of a Lelise Wolfe story but I still really enjoyed it. Mainly because I like Tess as a character, she is a tough FBI agent that isn’t afraid to go up against the system, even if it costs her her badge. I would say she is one tough cookie but she would probably shoot me. I like the interaction between her and her co-workers, despite her being a loner at heart she knows how to get the best out of people. Leslie is a very talented write and In just a few short pages I was tempted to skip to the end to see if it was going to have a happy ending but as I was reading on the kindle I didn’t want to have to search for where I left off. This did keep me reading until I finished the book though. I can’t wait for the next book.
Tess on being summoned to her bosses office is worried because she was involved in another officer involved shooting. This time it isn’t for a dressing down or a reprimand. The bosses God daughter has gone missing and he needs Tess’s help in finding her before it is to late. With no ransom call and no other bodies Tess can’t form a profile of the un sub. All she can do is question the girls best friend, the governor’s daughter a man who has already requested Tess’s badge be taken away from her when she questioned his friends. What is he going to do over his daughter? One thing is for sure if his daughter knows something about the missing girl then Tess is going to get it out of her one way or the other.
Ms Wolfe writes the most intense books. You are drawn in and held on the edge of your seat
Girl With A Rose (Special Agent Tess Winnett #5) was a great read by Leslie Wolfe.Fifteen-year-old Kaylee disappears without a trace. The FBI special Agent assigned to the case is, Tess Winnett. It seems as though more questions are posed with every lead that was uncovered. It seems as though there are other girls who have vanished and never seen from again. Tess is looking into the disappearances to see if there is a connection. I enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to read more by the author.
Another great read from Leslie Wolfe.

Tess Winett, FBI, has a 100% case solve rate. She will do whatever it takes to get the criminal off the streets. She has had some run ins with the governor. A girl, Kaylee, is a friend of the governor’s daughter Alice, goes missing. Tess has to question Alice with the governor running interference. Tess has the task of finding the kidnapper and hopefully finding Kaylee alive. Leslie Wolfe gets you interested from the beginning.
So glad this was a novella, it was so intense that I would have needed a respite if it went on any longer. Action packed, gut wrenching thriller. Sadistic Unsub and no “bs” SSA Tess Winnett. A few pages to catch your breath. What a great read!
Tess an agent with the FBI , summed to Pearson office, a personal favor to him, a fifteen year old girl missing. Last seen by her friend Alice, the governor’s daughter. Thinking it was a joke, since the governor has tried twice to get rid of Tess. Kaylee was Pearson grandchild. Reminding her she had a 100% track of solving also stood up to people and got results.
You are on a rollercoaster with this story, Tess is determined, she is good, doesn’t back down, looking at the governor, and telling him she would interview his daughter, again of how his daughter was lying, She finally got evidence of who was involved, and who and why it was being done. Almost losing her life, and with phone calls from the governor will it be losing her badge also. Great fast action story
