Fun read.
Girl in the Shadows was pretty good. I would read others in a series, but don’t think this is a series, at least at this time. HOWEVER, about half of the downloaded Kindle book was another novel about witches. It is a series and I did not care for it at all. Very juvenile.
Very quick read. Kept me laughing.
Fun read
I was only able to make it half way through before I quit. The premise was okay though not well plotted. I quit because none of the characters felt natural in their actions or dialogue. I kept hoping it would get better but it didn’t. It wasn’t the worst thing I had read, so I gave it two stars and because I am a hardcore reader and very particular about my reading materials.
I enjoyed unwrapping the mystery and getting to know these colorful characters. They make a dynamic duo. I’m looking forward to following them in their next detective case.
Great characters and some good plot twists. A good mystery.
Very entertaining
Not much to it
Funny and entertaining.
This is a wonderful first book for a series of offbeat detective tales with delightful investigators who have formed a father-daughter-like bond. The deductive reasoning is somewhat reminiscent of a very modernized Sherlock, and the action is right up there with the best.
An good plot for a short read. Didn’t catch my attention too much
Wanted more of the characters, but the detective was a bit of a deus ex machina – not all of the information on which he based his conclusions was given to the reader.
I’d like to see more of these characters and a longer book to develop them further.
Two books in one!!! Wonderful!! Both great reads.
I really enjoyed the book. The characters are great. I’d like to read more.
This story was about a temporary assistant who helped solve a murder. But what I really enjoyed was the second book that was included about a family of witches who solve a murder that occurred in their new home.
Great easy book to read.
While I might read the next book in this series to see if the heroine really does make the positive changes she has mapped out for herself, I cannot even remember her name at the moment. She is a likable character, and appeared to be responding to the challenges of detection by becoming more self actualizing. The plot was interesting, but not plausible and the villain was obvious from the first encounter. I do not, however, hold that against a writer, since the rules are that that the clues must be there to follow. There were not many clues though, just an obvious choice for the killer. If you love mysteries with a spunky, although flawed heroine and a cute dog who steals many scenes then this is one for you to enjoy. I hope the next book has a few more likable characters.
Cute but kinda easy to figure out the plot. Fun and interesting characters.
