This was my first Angela Pepper book, and I Loved it!… loved the characters, the story and the outcome.
Abby Silver is a temp secretary with a super memory and I wish I had one these days. Abby is assigned to work with an unusual detective, Abby discovers she likes investigative work. As Abby starts working with Detective Diamond helping working on a case she also meets Chewie, a beagle that is always at his side. After a week she loves doing this kind of work and there is funny and suspense along the way.
This is a fun, humorous cozy mystery. The lead female character displays moments of awkwardness everyone can relate to going through at some point in their life. The lead male starts out seeming a bit of a male chauvinist, but that is quickly dispelled endearing his character to you even with his many quirks. The story itself held enough little twists to leave you unsure until shortly before the reveal who ‘did it’, and then you find out that there is still more to it. I laughed heartily a number of times throughout this cozy mystery.
Easy reading and not so easy to guess who did it! It ended too quick!
easy read.

Fun, quick cozy mystery with believable characters and interesting plot. Different from her other stories but fun nonetheless.
Good for teenagers
I would recommend this book if you are looking to read a light-hearted mystery. There is not a lot of substance to this particular book but I have others in this category of Cozy Mysteries and found them to be a little better.
This is a bit out there, but the characters are both realistic and absurd at the same time. I enjoyed this book tremendously and found the characters charming. It’s an original plot line… there’s no formula for this cozy!!
I started reading this book then on page 167 it change to a different book. I read the second book to the end but the pag never changed from 167 all very strange!!
Enjoyed how the story evolved
Good fun Read!
It was fun to read although the ex was annoying! It wasn’ t the same old same old .
Good quick read. Enjoyed the characters and hope to see the series continue. Not as predictable as some murder mysteries, but still plausible outcomes.
I enjoyed this story very much and would have given it 4 stars, except that it ended too soon. I was about 35% through “the book” when the story was done. It was followed by another story that involved a witch, which is not what I care to read. I was disappointed that the original story ended so soon.
A different sort of cozy mystery. I liked it. Quirky in a fun way
Ok. Plot wa a bit light
First part of book is a detective story. After that is an novel about witches which I was not expecting.
An easy and light read with unusual characters and a decent mystery element. The concept and story were entertaining. It’s fairly short, so also a quick read.
I wish there were more books than what I’ve read with this character.
