This is such an amazing book. The author does a fantastic job of not only showing a building romance between these two people, but also manages to educate on one of those horrendous topics of human trafficking. As Salena tries to forge a life after what has happened to her. Interesting to see how this all came together and hopefully the next book is out to give us a satisfying conclusion soon.

Well told, beautifully done take of love and loss. This is a beautifully plotted, well written story. A great read.
This is the first book I have read by this author. The author has delivered a story that is full of suspense and romance where both the male and female characters are strong and determined people. I found the author’s writing style to be one that I was easily drawn in to and a real joy to read.

Unique love story premise
Overcoming the effects of trauma and cultural differences makes “Girl Behind the Veil” more than just another love story. The main characters are believable and have the reader rooting for the success of their romance. However, there are plenty of twists and turns along the way, and the cliff hanger ending means you’ll have to read the next book in the series to find out.
Human trafficking is a major national and world issue and it is only growing. It is hard to read about and what the victims go through is unimaginable. Williby breaks the issue wide open in this first installment when a nineteen-year-old girl goes overseas to Pakistan to see her father. The trauma and strength portrayed will leave readers wanting more from this series.
Salena Hamas lives in New York, but her father travels around the world. Her father, a well-known political figure in Pakistan, has kept his daughter’s identify a secret out of protection because his enemies would surely hurt her to get to him. When Salena travels to Pakistan to see her father, it is only coincidence that she becomes the next human trafficking victim. Not knowing her identity, she is afraid to say anything for fear that they would either hurt her father or make her even more of a target. Thinking that her world is over when a man comes to purchase her, she soon finds out that he is an American soldier, sent by her father, to find her and get her out. Nothing is ever as easy it seems, but once they do get out and get back to the safety of an American Base, Salena thinks that she will never see him again. This man has taken up a permanent residence in her heart. Ten years later, there he is in the flesh and she has been torturing herself for years, seeing his face every time she closed her eyes. Does he still feel the same way about her? After sharing one night of near bliss under a night sky in Pakistan, was he just wanting to be the hero or did he actually fall for her in that moment?
Williby has a mesmerizing tale of two people from the same country, but two totally different cultures and backgrounds. Despite the differences, both Kaden and Salena have been through a lot of hardships and trauma to last for lifetimes. What they’ve seen and experienced makes their connection stronger, but at the same time–it becomes a very lonely and long road to recovery. The character development and pace in this story is astounding and the book is well-written. Knowing Williby to write the stories that challenge readers, she certainly does not disappoint with this newest novel. Since this is the first installment in the Invisible Veil series, readers are able to jump right in. If you are a fan of military and multicultural romances, you may want to pick this up.
