Liked this short story. Giovanni lost her husband, Rosa’s father to consumption. Rosa now has a cough that’s getting worse. So Giovanna answers an ad for a wife placed by Laars. Laars was not expecting a child, let alone a sick one, but does what’s necessary to get her help. He realizes that he’s fallen for them both and doesn’t want to lose them. Nice ending.
Wish I could give this book 4.5 stars. I enjoyed it and recommend it
Surviving is the reason for Giovanna & her daughter after their loss. She makes a life changing choose and adapts to a completely new way of life. Against the odds of acceptance, God is her constant companion and guide. Would highly recommend this book.
Good read.
It was ok.
Too short, ended in the middle of the story, requiring purchase of the next book to know what happened next – not a policy I like at all.
Only half of the book is about the characters the other half is deals on her other books. I couldn’t bring myself to like her new husband or her. The only character I fell in love with was Rosa, but only because I love children
I probably wouldn’t recommend buying. I got it for free so I’m not to mad. I enjoy it when the characters slowly fall in love not immediately are in love at first sight. Some authors I would recommend is Tracie Peterson, Jannette Oke, and Karen Whitemeyer. While their book are a little more expensive…. it’s definitely worth it. I have read a lot of their books and reread a lit of them. Since the book was so short I can’t give you to much info or when you read it you will know everything. Just don’t spend money on this book.
enjoyed, would recommend
The story moved at a quick pace and the resolution of the issues were dealt with quickly.
I liked the story but it was way too short!
Sometimes the story seems a bit forced but I ended up really loving the characters and glad for the happy ending.
This was a sweet old fashion story –loved it, partly because it wasn’t too long —I read it in a short time —kind of like those shorter ones, sometimes. It was a very nice story and enjoyed it.
Good quick read.
I enjoyed this mail-order-bride book, though it was a bit short.
Couldn’t put this down. Romantic. A tale of a love put away in a corner of her hear while her husband knows he is second. There is a HUGE surprise, bot or the reader and Giovanna. Great story!!!
Adorable story Just a little too short. Quick read. Enjoyable characters.
Good book, but too short. If I were an English teacher, I would say “Where’s the rest?”
Very short and simple.
Sweet but predictable without a great deal of character development. This was a novella and I didn’t notice that when I ordered it so I was surprise when it was very short.
Wonderful short story. Wanted more !
