Bestselling author Staci Hart is back with a brand new romantic comedy and clever spin on Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. Meet the Bennet brothers, get to know Longbourne, and fall in love in this steamy opposites attract romcom.They say there’s no such thing as perfect.But I’ve built my life to perfection—the perfect boyfriend, the perfect apartment, the perfect career planning celebrity … perfect career planning celebrity weddings. My job—my only job—is to make sure every event is absolutely and completely perfect.
What’s not perfect? Kash Bennet.
And I wish I didn’t find that so appealing.
I could have told you every perfectly imperfect thing about the gardener at Longbourne. Like his hair, lush and black and far too long. Or his nose, the flat bridge of a Greek god, bent a little like it’s been broken. Or his size. Beastly. Roped and corded with muscles, gleaming with sweat and peppered with dirt. There’s no escaping him, not if I’m going to use his family’s flower shop for my events.
But nothing is what it seems. And in the span of a heartbeat, my perfect life is turned inside out. They say the best way to get over somebody is to get under somebody new. When Kash offers his services to the cause, it sounds like the perfect plan.
What’s not part of the plan? Falling in love with the gardener.
But they were right—there’s no such thing as perfect.
And I’m the fool who finds out the hard way.

Lila Parker has worked hard for her position as wedding planner to the elite, and she prides herself on not letting anything slip through the cracks at her events. Sure, people might see her as difficult to deal with at times, but she gets the job done, and she refuses to apologize for her dedication to her career.
Kassius Bennet’s love for gardening at Longbourne has always been a defining aspect of his personality, and working with difficult clients is all just part of the job. But while Lila Parker is a woman who isn’t always easy to please, Kash knows just how what Lila needs… at work and at play…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gilded Lily was a thoughtful and entertaining opposites attract story that was a sexy, sweet and all-around-delightful read. Lila and Kash make a great team when it comes to working together, but when an agreed upon fling turns into so much more, will these two realize that their HEA may be closer than they ever thought possible, or will the drama of their differences ruin it all…
Lila is a wedding planner turned reality show side story with her latest high profile clients pulling her into some not-so-delightful situations. From her utter dedication to her career, to her determination to make sure every job is done flawlessly, she has earned quite the reputation with the employees at Longbourne, but Kash doesn’t seem to mind dealing with her quite like the other staff does…
Kash is highly aware that his position as a glorified gardener isn’t the most highly regarded profession in certain NYC circles. But having flings with women who prefer to date men in society and not men who work with their hands for a living are all he is interested in anyway… or so he keeps telling himself. Lila is just the kind of woman Kash knows he could never have a lasting relationship with, but there is something about her that makes him want to make the same mistakes over and over again…
This book was another fabulous read in the highly entertaining Bennet Brothers series! Lila was such an admirable character, with her success and nerves of steel, she was often seen as an ice queen, but is highly misunderstood. Witnessing her relationship with her sister immediately gives us a knowing glimpse into the kind of person Lila really is, and from there it is impossible not to love her. Kash is not only a nice, easy going guy, but his passion for flowers and his artistic ability was off the charts amazing. And while he has some hang-ups about dating woman who seem to think he isn’t worth settling down with, he also has a remarkable ability to give Lila just what she always seems to need.
Lila and Kash’s love story was a fresh and fun read, that was also highly sexy and always captivating. The plot featured it’s own brand of added drama, which at times, left me highly stressed about when an inevitable disaster would occur! I adore the Bennet family more and more with each story from this series and I CAN NOT WAIT for the next Bennet to find love!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
I’ve been looking forward to seeing more of the Bennett Siblings and Ms Hart didn’t disappoint when delivery Kash’s book in Gilded Lily!
This connected stand alone features the second youngest Bennett, Kash, and wedding planner, Lila. I loved these two together! They have been each other’s orbit their whole lives and on the surface they appear very different. It was fun watching them get under each other’s skin and challenge each other.
The secondary cast plays a big role here – we see exes, bosses, siblings, and outrageous TV stars influence both Kash and Lila. Some of these interactions are for the better (yay for siblings) and some of them help create the conflict needed for the story to have that – oh no, will they make it? moment. Ms Hart does a wonderful job of creating an environment where both romance and tension can grow.
Gilded Lily is a well written and entertaining book. My only caution/concern is that there are plot elements that weave from the first book to this one – primarily related to the Bennett family and their business. While that story is a sub plot to the potential relationship between Kash and Lila, it could be distracting for readers just joining the series.
After reading Luke (book 1) and Kash’s story, I am definitely looking forward to seeing what is in store for Marcus.
Lash & Lila a fantastic opposite attraction story. Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Kash & Lila could not be more different… the one thing they love about each other is getting under each others skin… when Lila’s personal life explodes in a glorious fashion. Her & Kash decide to get under more that than each others skin. Who would have thought they could find everything they ever dreamed of along the way.
4 stars!!
“Love doesn’t care where you come from, only who you are.”
Kash Bennet loves working in his family’s greenhouse, Longbourne, and has an eye for design. He doesn’t do serious relationships after having had his heart broken and he refuses to give it away again.
Lila Parker is a high-profile wedding planner who knows how to get the job done. She has a pretty sweet life until everything goes up in smoke. When her boyfriend cheats on her with a client, she realizes a rebound is just what she needs to get over him.
Lila hires Kash to head up the floral arrangements for one of the hottest weddings in town and they immediately butt heads. There is no denying the attraction they feel though, and when Lila starts thinking about a rebound, Kash becomes the prime candidate. However, with chemistry like theirs, can they keep things casual or will their relationship become more?
This book is a wonderful take on the enemies-to-lovers trope and it is so much fun. From the banter to the sexy times, Lila and Kash keep us entertained. They dive into a causal relationship and everything seems perfect. They fight and bicker and get under each other’s skin, and I loved it. The back and forth only intensifies their connection. They challenge each other and give as good at they get.
“Somehow it was a comfort, to know that even when I was at my biggest and loudest and most barkey, he could handle it. Handle me.”
They are hot and heavy and know how to have a good time. They keep it light until they can’t deny the growing feelings, and when things shift, Kash and Lila have to determine if what they have is worth fighting for or if they were only meant to be a fling.
“There was no way to separate myself from the truth—I was in over my head. I was at her mercy. And I couldn’t turn back if I wanted to.”
Kash and Lila are intense and passionate. They fit together so well even though they are opposites. We see how different people are on the inside when they finally open up, and I loved watching they learn to trust again and loosen the walls around their hearts.
There is some angst and heartache that Lila and Kash face but I liked that it wasn’t over the top. The emotions are real and I felt what they were going through. Thankfully, it is not dragged on and everything is resolved nicely with a delightful epilogue.
Overall, Gilded Lily is another entertaining story in the Bennet Brothers series and I cannot wait for more. Mum’s The Word, Marcus’ story, is next and it sounds so freaking good!!
I adored Staci Hart’s “Gilded Lily,” a funny, sweet story that features endearing, well-developed characters and a delightful, perfectly paced romance. While it is the second book in the Bennet Brothers series, “Gilded Lily” is a complete standalone, and readers (like me) who have not yet read the first book in the series will not feel lost at all by starting with this one.
The main characters of this story, Kash and Lila, spent a lot of time focusing on how different they were, but in all of the ways that mattered, they were more alike than either of them could possibly have realized at first. For example, Lila came across as rather stiff and temperamental, but she was protecting a tender heart beneath her tough exterior. Kash was also protecting his heart after being badly hurt by his first girlfriend years earlier, but he did so beneath a veneer of laid-back charm rather than a crabby outer shell. Neither one of them was willing to trust in a real relationship, even though they both secretly wanted to love and be loved in return, so they embarked on a rebound fling after Lila’s breakup with her jerk of an ex. Despite their determination not to develop real feelings for each other, they ended up falling in love anyway. There were a number of obstacles to overcome before Lila and Kash could finally be together, but I very much enjoyed cheering them on to their HEA.
In addition to Kash and Lila, I loved the secondary characters featured in this story, and plan to go back and read the first book in this series (“Coming Up Roses”) because I want to know more about the situation facing Longbourne, the Bennet family’s flower business. I also look forward to reading future books in the series to see what happens next with these characters.
*ARC provided by the author. All opinions expressed are my own.
First off, I love the Bennett family! They are a great group of characters that you can’t help but fall in love with each member of the family. Kash Bennett makes you swoon with his funny gardening t-shirts and his good looks. Lila is all business and determined to get where she has planned since she was young and not letting anything stop her. Lila is a wedding planner and has to deal with some insane things and Kash, who has always worked with the family in the flower business with his laid back attitude balances out Lila’s personality. These two pull you in and you can’t help but getting caught up in their adventure. This story is all the feels and you won’t be able to put it down
*sigh* I just loved this book so much. Kash, Kash, Kash…you are one of my favorite Staci Hart book boyfriends. You know when the male character has a reputation, but is actually just misunderstood? When he defers to being what’s expected of him rather than being his true self? Kash is the quintessential ladies man: gardener by day, bed buddy by night. He’s unapologetic and boastful in his endeavors, but my God, he has soul.
Lila waltzes in as the perfect distraction to him. She’s well put together, and had a no nonsense personality. These two together are fire and ice at first, but when the story reaches full momentum I can’t help but cross my fingers that the stars will align and they’ll figure it all out, together.
I can’t say enough good things about this love story. Lila and Kash, hands-down, stole my heart. It’s tender, sweet, sexy and enlightening.
What a beautifully romantic and heartwarming story about the misconceptions people have of others and the journey of self growth and love! Staci Hart has yet again made a feel good story with an old school feel, think Jane Austen era, that catches your attention with a slow burn that leads to a combustible ending! I just loved Lila and Kash’s characters as individuals and as a couple. Their chemistry was smouldering but also so genuine and sweet and it made me feel so much joy for them through their journey!
Gilded Lily is the second book in the Bennet Brothers series. This book was Kash’s story. We met Kash in the first book Coming Up Roses. He is one of the younger Bennett kids and has always worked for his families flower shop. I liked him in the first book when he was always giving Luke a hard time, but I LOVED him in this book. He was so sweet! Lily is the heroine in this book. She is Ivy’s sister. Lily is a wedding planner that super serious and organized all the time. I liked watching these two interact with one another and become closer as the story progresses. I also liked getting to see more of the Bennett family. I can’t wait to see which brother is up next.
4.5 Stars
Gilded Lily is the second book in the Bennett Brothers series. And my oh my I absolutely loved the timeless retelling of Jane Eyre’s classic Pride and Prejudice in which Staci transformed into a beautiful modern day romance.
Kash Bennett is the gardener for his family’s florist shop. He’s laid-back, calm and relaxed. He’s misunderstood and rather than being his true self he does what is expected of him. He’s an all around good guy and such a sweetheart. He would do anything to help out another person—he’s kind and a genuinely good person. Even though he had that minor mishap, he definitely redeemed himself in the end. And goodness did he make me swoon, I adored him so much.
Lila is a wedding planner and she’s most sought after. She’s determined to prove herself to her boss and her clients. She’s well put together and had a no nonsense personality. She’s calm, cooled and collected. She’s just amazing and I liked her character a lot.
Lila and Kash are fire together. Call the fire department and hose me down—scorching hot. The chemistry between these two is incredible. They brought out the best in each other and helped each other see that they deserved to be happy. I fell in love with their love and they definitely made my heart happy.
Gilded Lily is a rom-com at its finest. Filled with adorable, sweet and tender moments. I absolutely love this world and characters Staci’s created. And I too of course love everything about the Longbourne flower shop. I can’t wait to read more of this series and more of the Bennett brothers.
This book was absolutely fantastic! I was wrapped up in every word Staci Hart wrote. I was completely enamored with Kash and Lila, there was just something so special about each of them individually, and something so magical about them together. Like they were each other’s missing puzzle piece. The storyline was so captivating. From page 1 I devoured this story until the very end. From the storyline, to the characters, to the chemistry of not only Kash and Lila (which was off the charts) but the Bennet clan and Ivy were all perfection.
I can’t wait to read more from this lovely cast of characters!
5 Perfect Slow Burn Stars!!!
The Bennet Brothers are back in this second book of this series by Ms. Hart and I have to admit I’ve got a huge crush on Kash Bennet! He’s calm, steadfast, sure of himself and the exact opposite of Lila which brings a whole new element to her life. Their first few interactions in this book, were full of attitude, all on her part because this is who Lila is. She’s a Type A, in demand Wedding Planner with not only the most demanding clients, but superiors as well. And let me tell you, these bosses needed to be brought down a notch or two and I took great glee as the book progressed in this area!!
Underneath all the “attitude” she displays while doing her job though, is a woman that’s been hurt and is trying to understand why her relationship blew up the way it did…oh and I wanted to slap a few people upside the head when it all comes out…. Enter Kash Bennet and their rebound friends with benefits plan. They’re both getting something out of their arrangement, but what they weren’t expecting was love!
Ms. Hart has done a phenomenal job of bringing these characters to life. They’re so perfect for each other because they’re exact opposites. Kash brings a calmness to Lila’s life which is much needed. He sees her for who she is under the façade and I loved this so much about him.
The way the story progresses is very natural in the way their love grows and both bringing to the relationship exactly what was missing in their previous relationships. Seeing Kash heal is heart thanks to Lila, really made me love her too. He’s a man that deserves to have someone that loves him full tilt and Lila is that woman!!
I’m in love with this series and I cannot wait to get Marcus’ story!!
Gilded Lily is the second book in the Bennet Brothers series and the moment I started this I immediately remembered why I love this family. It can be read as a complete standalone, however, I would HIGHLY suggest that you read Coming Up Roses because it is an amazing story.
Kash Bennet is the oldest sibling and the one in charge of running the greenhouse. Lila Parker is a wedding planner and Ivy’s (she works at the Florist shop) older sister. Lila is fresh off a break up and looking for a rebound. Kash is the best distraction possible. However, things change between them, rules are broken. Will they confess their true feelings?
I absolutely LOVED the first book, but this one completely blew it out of the greenhouse for me. I loved Kash’s laid back attitude and Lila’s hardworking personality. They were complete opposites of each other but so incredibly perfect for one another. Their chemistry is there from the start, despite the fact they have the enemies vibe.
Gilded Lily will have you laughing (I was dying over all the gardening puns!), smiling and just feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. This is a MUST READ and one of my favorites for 2019!
Somehow Staci got even better!?! I loved Coming Up Roses and then this one took my breath away! Staci ability to make these characters and places come to life is a gift and I can not wait for the rest of this series, at this rate I’m going to run out of stars! It’s a retelling of Pride and Prejudice with the Bennet brothers and its just adorable, cute, swoon worthy, and wish there was more to go around! Kash and Lila start off as high school friends in two different worlds but come to find common ground around flowers and Kash’s ability to be chill no matter what Lila throws at him or falls into.
The chemistry of these two is 100! One wears white pantsuit and the other digs in the dirt, what could go wrong? Its a slower burn but then hot, hot, hot!
Again, can the Longbourne be a real place?!? It just seems like Disney World but flowers and I want to join Kash in the back but also just pick up a bouquet everyday on my walk home!
Overall, I give this book 5 stars because it really was magical! I can NOT wait to read the next book and see how the family is handling all the new surprising news!
Note: Received ARC from author for an honest review
Overall Grade:
I need to preface my review with an understanding. I’m a professor of writing, and I oftentimes write reviews like I’d write an analysis of a book, especially when an author decides to provoke my literature brain. I choose, however, to write my reviews informally yet with the formality of literary analysis. So…warning, Staci Hart challenges my brain with her writing, hence causing me to write the type of review that won’t tell you how hot Kash and Lily are together. Instead, this review seeks to magnify the brilliance of Staci Hart’s writing in Gilded Lily, her newest book, via my analysis. Consider yourself warned.
You can read Staci Hart’s Bennet series without having read Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, the story that inspires it. However, if you know JA’s book, then you see some of the genius of Staci Hart’s books in this new series. For example, Kitty, a Bennet sister in Pride and Prejudice, is a background character, usually partnered with Lydia, the misbehaving sister. While we are led to believe that Kitty will engage in the same at-risk, silly behavior of her sister, we never really find evidence of it in Jane Austen’s story. In her newest book, Staci Hart plays with this idea of existing in the background, of assumed perceptions. Like Kitty, Kash, the hero of Gilded Lily, seems, like a background character, happy to plant and grow, a seeming player who isn’t interested in relationships, but, rather, hookups. His connection and association with Luke, his formerly player younger brother, inspires people’s perceptions of Kash. To some degree, readers of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice mischaracterize Kitty too based on the actions of her younger sister, Lydia. We never get to know the true Kitty, and it’s a realization that we may be “seeing” her with the worst of expectations based on her association with her sister. Similarly, the concept of Kash is also based on the assumptions of the other characters in his story and us, the readers. It’s Staci Hart’s brilliant look at the way in which we determine the truth of people based on their appearance and our assumptions. What we find in Gilded Lily are people who are so much more than our assumptions.
The title of this book is the first indication of Hart’s talent. To gild the lily means to try to “adorn or embellish” something that is already perfect. It’s a hint to the heroine of the story, Lila. Lila is an overachiever. As an event planner for a top, well-respected event planning business, she’s learned early on that appearances are necessary towards achievement. Her direct report/manager is a nightmare, yet Lila as an overachiever strives to surpass her manager by being the very best, ignoring her manager’s slights. Daily, she strives towards perfection. She shows it through her appearance and her work ethic. Her drive for perfection makes others assume that she is a robot, someone who is emotionless. Her actions “gild the lily” of her persona, causing others to make assumptions about her just as people make assumptions about Kash. To a certain degree, Lila pretends. It’s her way to survive an unruly boss and horrible clients. Through the character of Lila, Hart illustrates the way in which there is always something more to a person. We find that Lila is indeed a person with feelings; however, it takes the right person to “see” the true essence of her if they take the time to do so, to see past her “pretending,” the gilding of the lily of her personhood. In this characterization, Hart flexes her literary muscle as she constructs the humanization of Lila through the progression of the story.
Like Lila, Kash also pretends. Of the two, he shows more of his real self; however, there are assumptions about him that he never corrects. In a sense, he accepts what others believe about him even if they are false. From his statement t-shirts to his connections with women, Kash pretends to be the person who others believe him to be. Yet, Kash is more.
We initially see Kash and Lila as opposites. Hart considers their story as enemies-to-lovers, and it seems, in the beginning, they are more enemies than friends. However, Kash and Lila have more in common than we first realize. There are more assumptions here, as the story plays out and we see these two are simply two sides of the same coin about other people’s judgments about them. As their story progresses, we recognize their similarities and revel in their differences as those differences make for a complete soulful connection. Again, this is further evidence of Hart’s creativity and ingenuity in her craft.
Personally, I can’t help but revel in Hart’s writing. Throughout Gilded Lily, I was drawn to her prose, her style. The way in which she uses the allusion to Kitty in Pride and Prejudice along with her metaphor of perfection to illustrate the need to search for the truth of a person by “seeing” them, to let go of past dreams for the spirit of today, and to love fearlessly in the face of your truth is her superpower in her book. This professor’s brain couldn’t stop analyzing her pages, mining them for the golden nuggets of truth hidden in her prose. The romance is a given in Gilded Lily. Kash and Lila are a beautiful pairing, completing each other in the most delicious way. Reading their journey isn’t hard in and of itself. It will make you feel complete when the story is done. What we should celebrate about Hart’s book is its insistence on living “real” lives, accepting people in their truth, and loving people fiercely into that truth. What we see and perceive isn’t usually what is real. Maybe if we took the time to accept each other’s truths, our society would look a lot like the love of Kash and Lila. Read this book.
“Trust me when I promise you this — Lila Parker cannot get to me.”
At that, Tess laughed. “Famous last words.”
And oh, if I’d only known how right she was.
Gilded Lily is the perfect combination of rom-com and contemporary romance elements that make your heart and soul happy. Kash and Lila’s opposites attract chemistry is undeniable, and while things may start out as an uncomplicated, no expectations arrangement — this fling is about to blossom into so much more.
Humor, drama, surprises, family, sweet and spicy passion, and so much love. The second stand-alone installment of the Bennet Brothers series delivers! Plus that teaser for Mum’s the Word, featuring Marcus, come on! Is it Spring 2020 yet!?
4.5 stars
This was a perfect modern day spin on a classic romance. Lila and Kash could not be more opposite. She’s all buttoned up to his laid back but they are both intrigued with each other no matter how much they try to deny it. He’s only looking for temporary and she’s only looking for a minor detour from life so they find a solace in each other both knowing it’s nothing serious and only for the moment but that moment starts to bring out the best in both of them. Such a sweet story
I voluntarily reviewed a advanced readers copy of this book
Staci did it again!! I loved this even more than the first book in the series, Coming Up Roses! It was just the right mix of fiery and sweet, and I devoured the ARC in like 3 sittings. Y’all, this made me smile while I was having a crappy travel day (full of randomly searched bags, 1.5 hour delays, etc.), so if it can manage that, it’s a good book! 🙂
Kash and Lila… Who woulda thunk? Kash is VERY laidback, super chill. Lila is more like me… super type-A and detail-oriented. High stung AF. And I LOVED watching them together because I could see so much of myself in Lila, I wanted to scream.
We’re back with the Bennets, and of course, they’re just as lovely as ever. Family-dynamic books are my absolute faves, so of course, I love this series because we get to hang out with the crazy Bennet clan! Each of the kids has a role within the family, and, no shocker, Kash is the mellow, go-with-the-flow guy. He was the much needed balance to the hectic energy of both Mrs. Bennet and Luke, the protagonist of book 1. He was just the sweetest guy who had trouble coming to grips with his insecurities, and all I wanted to do was wrap him in a hug and tell him I liked him.
Lila. My soul sister. Where Kash is play-it-by-ear, Lila has contingency plans for her contingency plans. (Yep, hi, hello.) She is a badass, fiery event planner whose drive is unmatched. She wears white pantsuits and doesn’t take your crap. There was a line she said in here about how no color makes people notice you as much as white, and I totally agree! (Although it must be exhausting trying to keep her outfits clean all the time.) My favorite part about Lila was how genuine she was. Even though she was in this industry full of mean, gross people who step on anyone they need to in order to climb to the top, she was not about that. Both Lila and Kash have really different ways of approaching things, but they have the same heart, and that’s why they work. That’s why we love them.
I really enjoyed the story here… it moved at a really fast pace (though not too fast so as to deaden my enjoyment), and I was waiting on the edge of my seat to discover what happened with the whole Femmes/Archer Events subplot. Something else I enjoyed – without getting into spoilers, of course – was how the conflict of the story was actually Kash’s crap to deal with. The reason I say that is two-fold: 1) the book was sort of winding up to climax into Lila’s problems but then did a little switcheroo, but mainly: 2) most romance books lean on the girl being like, “oh my gosh, what to do???” when the guy is half of that scenario too, you know what I mean? I liked that the female wasn’t the emotional one. Yay equality, y’all!
Honestly, I enjoyed this better than the first book in the series. I liked the banter better, I liked Kash as a person more, and I liked Lila’s spunk and sass. I loved how Kash could take whatever Lila threw at him, and I loved how Lila was able to soften a little and trust Kash, letting us (and him) see the real her.
The only thing I don’t love is the cover change… Staci is re-doing her books to have this trendy 2D drawn style cover, but I have to say, I’m capital-O OVER it… It’s still a decent enough cover, but I feel like all the redesigns make them blend in with the 200000 other romance books that have come out recently, and that makes me sad. She used to have the cutest, most unique covers. Hopefully a version to match the original (ahhh-mazing) floral cover of Coming Up Roses will be released soon… Sigh.
If you love stories with a lot of heart and plenty of steamy greenhouse scenes, this is for you.
I absolutely loved this modern day retelling of Jane Austen’s classic, Pride and Prejudice. First, let’s talk about the book cover because it is stunning and so perfect for this story. I just want to hold it in my hands and stare at it all day.
Second, the author has delivered this wonderful, touching story about Lila and Kash Bennet. Yes, the Bennets are now a set of brothers and the flower shop is the setting of their home but it all works together in this wonderful tale of finding love in unexpected places. There is most definitely a roller coaster of emotions with this story from smiles and laughs to tears and pain from the hurt of events and people that make you want to throat punch them. But it is all woven into the story and will have you come out at the end with the biggest smile on your face, or at least I had one.
Finally, I cannot wait to read the next book!
I knew, I just knew when I read the first book in this series Coming Up Roses and got a small glimpse of Kash Bennett, I was gonna fall in love hard! Ms. Hart never fails to exceed my expectations!
Gilded Lily is Kash’s story. It’s Lila’s story, it’s the lush story of their blooming relationship.
Kash is the gentle giant, with magic in his hands and a scarred heart. He is unbecoming in his assumptions of his worth and his ability to make a woman like Lila happy. He feels he is better as being the “rebound” fella, but he is so much more. I love him so hard for his vulnerabilities and his strength of character, for his calming demeanor and how he makes Lila feel.
Lila is a lady boss to the extreme! She is so focused on her career track that she doesn’t see the garden through the leaves. When she is bombarded by thorns and spikes of the heart, it’s Kash she turns to. She feels safe with him and in her world that means everything.
This series, this wonderfully fresh twist on Pride and Prejudice is quirky, funny, full of heart, full of heat in the best way. Thank you, Ms. Hart, for being brave enough to take a classic and put your wonder spin on it!
