Even a ‘Bad Girl’ deserves a Good Guy
A new contemporary romance novel
from USA Today bestselling author, MJ Fields
He was handsome and from a good southern family.
I was beautiful and didn’t know my real family.
He was strong and self-confident.
I was broken and never knew confidence.
He was everything to a girl who had nothing.
I was everything to a man who needed nothing.
He told me I … needed nothing.
He told me I would be his queen.
Then, three years later, he stripped me of my crown.
After our son was born, I “fell down the stairs” and broke my arm.
At the hospital, I found out I was pregnant again.
Two months later, I “ran into a door” and hid my black eye behind designer sunglasses and a fake smile.
In my last trimester of my second pregnancy, we went to meet some of his old college friends in New York City. I took too long to get ready. He told them I had the stomach bug.
I was once an eighteen-year-old girl, married to her high school sweetheart turned tormentor.
That fateful night in New York City, a cycle was broken.
Now, I am empowered …
Today, my name is
Gia
…but only for a few weeks out of the year.

What an amazing read with amazing characters that I absolutely enjoyed. Pace omg will definitely make you swoon. Truly an amazing read and I absolutely love seeing others characters from this series in this book.
Gia/Maria has been dealing with her abusive ex controlling her world for a very long time. Her control is being a part-time domme. Pace comes off as sleazy when talking about his past (Sleeping with multiple women in a family and passing one’s STD to others), but we get a different side of him too. Basically he what he gives to Maria makes him the man she needs while still building herself up—and he helps build her. Good story.
Book 3 in the Ties in Steel series and tells Gia and Pace’s story.
This is a story about the empowerment of women and the love and understanding of a good man.
I was gripped from start to finish and loved that characters from previous books were included. I was totally immersed in it and MJ Fields has a way of world building that you can visualise it all in your mind.
I hope there is yet another book to tell Fritz’s story as I loved her.
4.5 Stars
This is a good book and Maria is inspiring. Life has dealt Maria a bad hand, but her luck may have just turned. She’s getting a fresh start to create a life she’s always wanted. I loved watching Maria gain a great support system especially Pace. Pace is just delicious. I want one of those for myself. He has so many swoon worthy moments. He shows what a perfect fir he is for Maria. I gobbled this book right up and I couldn’t put it down. There is so much heart, feels, and emotion.Maria’s children are so cute and it warmed my heart to see them blossom. This is a must read for sure!
OMG what a book, I haven’t read the other books in this series but that didn’t take anything away from this story. Gia what a story, a story of strength, determination, friendships and love. Gia and Pace is a story filled with many challenges but show dissipate what life throws at you if you want something you can over come anything. I loved reading this book the Men Of Steel are all sexy strong characters. A true page turner. 5 STARS well done MJ Fields absolutely loved this book.
I’ll start by saying that I have read all the previous books in this series and for some reason I struggled to follow the story in the first couple of chapters. That said, I do believe that this book can be read on a S/A basis. Overall, I did enjoy this book. It was a fast paced read that held my attention throughout. The story was emotional and had plenty of drama. I loved Gia and her strength and Pace was wonderfully swoony and whilst their chemistry was certainly hot, it just missed a little something for me. 3.5 stars
Gia is the last book in the Tied in Steel series. Pace is a strong man who doesn’t let the world get him down. He’s been through some rough situations. Gia is Maria’s alter ego who is strong and capable of anything and “empowered.” Then, you have Maria, life was never good for her starting from birth until the end of her abusive marriage. Pace meets Maria and their chemistry sizzles from when they first lay eyes on each other. Pace holds her up, protects Maria and her children and won’t let anything happen to the three of them. He’s very swoony. These two complement each other in every way. This is a beautiful story that will pull you in from the first page.
M J Fields can write…
Feeling worthless always being told that your useless, that has been Gia/ Maria’s life …
Her own worth had been taken from her, draining her completely of who she should be..
Her ex , William was always overly critical, finding fault with just about everything she did and was…
This is a great story of Empowerment , how she changed her life and her future with the 100% help and then love of one extremely capable man called Pace he is the Mayor of Tybee Island where this story is being told…
Pace gives her the strength to be strong also to believe in herself …
Wonderful story with wonderful characters .
Extremely well written.
Gia was an amazing read. A page turner in every way. Gia’s life has been anything but sunshine and roses. She prevails and is in general a kick ass heroine. Lets not forget about the swoon worthy Pace. Amazing as always.
Gia is a wonderful story about self discovery that grabbed my attention from the first page and held me captive until the last!
MJ Fields is one of my favorite authors. She writes heros and heroines that you wish you could actually meet in settings that she draws vivid pictures of and her stories are unique and always interesting!
I love a good story with a strong heroine that fights for those she loves and Gia is all that and more. Gia is Maria’s alter ego. The one who allowed her to heal and become empowered in order to face her past and have the future she truly deserved!
Maria has been dealt so much bad but has worked hard to discover who she really is and is now able to finally give her children a place they can feel loved and safe. What she didn’t expect to find was a strong, sexy man who will accept all that she is and love her and her children unconditionally! Pace never thought he would find a family and love but when he sees Maria he just knows he needs to get to know her better. Together they have something special but first they have to overcome the obstacles placed in their path.
Another amazing read by MJ Fields. Could not put this book down. Her books just keep getting better and better. Gia,Maria is such a strong awesome woman. William might have tried to break her but she became a woman not to be reckoned with. She loves her children and will do what she has to to protect them. A 5 star read that will keep you glued to every word from the first to the last.
A Magnificent Story .
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of GIA . This is the final story in The Tied in Steel Series. I absolutely love this story and the entire series . Maria has not had a
easy life , abandoned at birth , raised in foster care , married young to an abuser . She became GIA . Pace Arnesen the Mayor of Tybee Island and owner of the Marina . Pace has had a rough coming of age no thanks to Warren Black and his buddies . Pace meets Maria when she moves to Tybee Island . Their attraction and chemistry ignite Maria has secrets she wants to keep ,but secrets always come to light one way or another . Pace wants to help Maria and her children and their friends step up as well to help . This story is such an amazing and emotional but very enjoyable story . As always a outstanding five star read . I highly recommend taking the time to read and enjoy .
Gia by MJ Fields is book 3 in the Tied in Steel series. This is Maria/ Gia and Pace’s story.
I loved how Maria/Gia comes full circle in this read. She starts off , pretty broken, and by the end, she is standing stronger than ever. Without giving the story away, I just enjoyed the plot, the chemistry between her and Pace, the feels and the way the story is geared towards empowerment. The writing is phenomenal and I liked seeing some previous characters from other Tied In Steel books make appearances in this story. Overall, great read with a great theme.
My Rating: 4.5 stars *******
This is the final book in the Tied In Steel series and I absolutely loved it!
Gia aka Maria, is the ultimate comeback ‘Queen’. Maria has had an awful life, from being abandoned as a baby, brought up in foster care and then physically and mentally abused by the one person she thought would always cherish her.
Pace Arneson, is not only the local Mayor, but also a co-owner of the marina and to say he’s an all-round good guy is an understatement, even though courtesy of some of the kids he grew up with, his coming of age wasn’t made easy, but thanks to a loving home life he stayed true to himself, despite his own trauma.
Gia and Pace meet when she returns to Tybee Island to try and get her children back, underhanded tactics by her ex snd his ‘friends’ doesn’t make this easy, but Pace having an immediate reaction to Gia and seeing how she’s been treated brings them together to fight for what she deserves.
A fantastic story, I’m just sad this is the last in this series – definitely rec
What an amazing heart felt story. Could not put this book down. Pace is one amazing man. Gia is one amazingly strong sexy woman. She loves with her whole heart. Loved how everyone was there for each other. Could not wait to see what would happen next. A must read.
What a story that unfolded. It was like watching the phoenix rise from the ashes. Maria, definitely damaged from her past and learning her strength and needing to focus on her future finds Pace, a man who never wanted to be the leader but found himself in charge and taking charge of helping Maria get her future. Both never looking or expecting it both went on an emotional journey where the ride was amazing and awesome to watch.
This book had me hooked from the start and I enjoyed the return of some of the characters from the previous Tied in Steele characters. This well written and told from dual POV was well worth not sleeping last night as I could not put this story down once I started reading it. I would recommend this book to others.
