I love this book so much! When I was in 4th grade my teacher bought the class a book of choice. I love this book so much.
I think this One of the best books Raina has written.
Cat has such a unique and cool Mexican family. Her poor sister had a disease, But despite that, Maya always looks on the bright side! I think if it wasn’t for Maya, Cat would have never known what ghosts are really like 🙂

This graphic novel tugged at my heart from the very first pages and didn’t let go!
Ghosts is the story of Cat’s family, who moves to the fictional northern California town of Bahía de la Luna because her younger sister, Maya, has cystic fibrosis and the air will be better for her lungs. Cat’s unhappy about the move, and also wary of the town, which residents claim is haunted. But as the Day of the Dead approaches, Cat must face her fears.
The story is one of Cat coming to terms with her terror of ghosts, which is the fear of mortality–possibly her own, and definitely her sick sister’s. It’s also a tale of her connecting to her Hispanic roots through food, family, and the Dia de los Muertos celebration.
This book managed to be so many things at once so effortlessly: a coming-of-age, an emotional read with well-drawn characters, an educational story about the Day of the Dead, and of course a ghost story. Combined with the artwork, it’s a book that definitely made me smile, nod, and tear up more than once.
It was very Fantasic for me sorry for the spelling
I couldnt get enough of this book! Ill read it a second time. Please continue making books.
Another excellent read from Raina Telgemeier! Cat’s sister has cystic fibrosis, so the family moves to the coast of Northern California for Maya to benefit from the sea air. I learned a lot about cystic fibrosis. It was done in a natural way that made sense for the character. My sons are 8 and 10 years old, and unsure of how scary it would be, I was a bit worried about reading a book called “Ghosts” with them. There are a few suspenseful parts, but it’s really not scary at all. We loved the ghosts, and they helped us learn more about Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) and death, so it was a win!
this is an amazing book all her books are entertaining, original, twisted.
I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!
It is very well written!
Everything was good
