Very enjoyable. Loved that ending.
Ghosted is part love story and part mystery that sounded exactly like a book I would enjoy. I had high expectations for this book and was very excited to have the chance to read an early copy. I must say I didn’t love it as much as wanted to. The pacing was slow, there were some interesting parts, especially towards the end, but I also was quite bored at times. The mystery, when it was revealed, wasn’t surprising at all. Ghosted was not a bad book, it just missed the mark for me.
The writing kept me engaged through the beginning. It picked up in the latter part of the story; the twist was unexpected and hooked me through the end. Some very powerful and emotive moments from several of the characters made this a book worth the read.
I had been putting off reading ghosted for a long time since I received it as my botm. I had heard so many mixed reviews that I kinda was just letting it collect dust on my shelf. There were parts I liked throughout the book and it wasn’t the worst book I have ever read but it wasn’t necessarily good either. Maybe, I just didn’t like the writing style. Usually, I am all for romance books but this one fell flat to me. I didn’t like the whiny main character and insta love trope that this story had. The plot dragged on forever and it took me forever to finally push myself to finish. The ending was predictable. I honestly just did not like this book.
Don’t waste your time!
this book had so many twists & turns that were very well placed so you never saw them coming. I laughed & cried, I learned what Ghosted meant never having heard of it before. What an interesting, unputdownable story!
After Sarah’s marriage of 17yrs ends in divorce, she meets Eddie. They both believe they were destined to be together. Eddie goes on vacation and Sarah goes to London. That was the last she hears from him. I like Sarah, I can relate to her. I know i’ve been like her when she was worrying why Eddie wasn’t calling her. This book has made me smile and it made me incredibly sad. This book is so good, I highly recommend this book.
I had mixed feelings about this book. The writing is extremely well done and very vivid but there were some twists that were jarring that left me shaking my head.
Ghosted by Rosie Walsh is a compelling and original debut novel. At times I did find it a predictable read, however, there were enough surprises to keep me engaged.
The first half of the book is told from Sarah’s POV. The start feels a bit slow as Sarah does a lot of whining and pining about a man she barely knows. However, interspersed in those early chapters are letters that are somewhat revealing. The second half of the book is told from Eddie’s perspective. This change in narrator is both revealing from a character development perspective and deceptive in terms of the plot.
While I thought there was much that was predictable in Ghosted, there were also plenty of twists. I thought I had everything figured out, and then was hit with a huge, heart-dropping, angst-creating twist. While I ended up surmising the outcome, my enjoyment of the story was not diminished. The use of letters, changing narrators and time periods makes the story layout very interesting.
I found Ghosted hard to put down, and I can’t put my finger on why was so invested in the characters. The ending is a bit tidy compared to the messy middle, but I suppose that is part of the allure of reading fiction. Who doesn’t wish all their relationship and life problems could be neatly wrapped up in a finite number of pages?
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were “real” and the story moving.
Fun read
Loved it. Surprised at the end
This is the FIRST book ever that I’ve skipped to the end as I guessed the ending and couldn’t labor through the tediousness. Predictable
One of my top 5 favorite books.
Kept my interest. I liked the ending
Love to read these novels that take place in England and Ireland. Interesting plot development , and of course, loved the happy ending,
The twist is interesting and well done. But every single character is SO angst-ridden, and cannot let go of their past pain. It becomes tiring when they can’t allow themselves to forgive when each causes her(him)self even more self-inflected pain. After awhile, you just want them to get on with it, and hurry up with giving up…or not. Very frustratng, drawn out tale.
I enjoyed this story especially because I thought I’d figured it out half way through and was mistaken. Interesting twist and satisfying ending.
Very interesting and original. Absolutely loved it- Susan
I really enjoyed this book. I thought I had it figured out and I did not.
