Great story for Wolf’s arrival
*WARNING* intended for mature audiences
I was expecting something amazing for the arrival of Jude’s son. This has action and suspense. It exceeds my expectations.
**********Contains Spoilers**********
Wow, I loved this book which isn’t surprising as I’ve loved every book of Pandora’s that I’ve read so far. After having a terrifying vision that shows the circumstances that bring Wolf into his and Jude’s lives in order for him to become their son and exhausting all other options they head black to the Reservation to get some much needed answers about the vision, including Jude’s dad Victor’s mu*der and to bring Wolf back home to Salem with them. Being back on the Reservation after so long is really hard for Jude since he’s receiving basically the same reception he got while living there that made him leave in the first place. Some truths were shared between Jude and his granddad, Running Eagle about the reason why Jude and his dad lived off the Reservation, and about the time when Jude came to live with
Running Eagle after his dad was mu*dered by the Skin Walker Witch. While there Cope could hear multiple spirits talking at once since they have a way of dealing with death on the Reservation and as soon as they went of the Reservation it was peacefully quiet for him. Cope has to keep his gifts on the down low while they were there since the Navajo don’t like witches. I can’t wait to see what’s next for this family. I’d recommend this book, series & author to anyone
Don’t know why this one sat in my TBR for so long before I read it. Normally Pine’s books are day of release reads for me. Somehow I must have overlooked it on my shelf. So glad I finally got to it!
This is a great story with lots of background on Jude and lots of references to Navajo beliefs. It is also the book where the vision of getting their son Wolf comes to pass.
The writing is crisp and the story flows well. It was a quick read for me and I anxiously anticipated the conclusion to the mystery haunting Jude for over 20 years. The author gives a pretty decent clue as to the villain of the piece and it is amazing to me that our MCs don’t figure it out. But the crisis moment and the reveal are great, suspenseful scenes regardless of if you know what’s on the horizon or not.
The ending is sweet and perfect. Highly recommend.
Jude is having nightmares and begins to wonder if it is an actual vision. With Cope at his side, Jude returns to the Navajo Reservation that he had run from at 18 to stop what he is dreaming about. As the past comes roaring back, Jude knows that there is more going on than what he is seeing. With Cope supporting him, Jude must figure out what he has forgotten to ensure Cope and Wolf are safe.
This book will have your heart hurting while you are cheering them on. I cannot wait for more!
