She sells her goods to disappointed tourists, and locals who appreciate her eclectic taste.Professor … taste.
Professor Pembroke Martin is hunting down an artifact that had been stolen by a former assistant ~ a hand-blown apothecary jar that is the center of an old ghost story. His search leads him to Holmestead, and a stubborn, fascinating American who has acquired the box that once contained the rare jar.
When the missing jar turns up, clutched in the hand of the very dead local historian, Martin becomes the prime suspect. With his future on the line, Martin turns to Maggie for help, and they join forces to find the real killer.

I enjoyed spending time with these characters. This is a very well written little mystery that makes me look forward to reading others in the series, especially when the ghost gets more involved.

I love it
Good for a cozy mystery.
A lot of repeated information. I finished the book, but really did not enjoy it. Definitely not an original plot nor original characters. This was the second book recently where the main character’s house was left to her by her aunt who she was close to.
Would read it again
This book was a great read. Looking forward to the next in the series.
Fun characters with surprise twist!
i enjoyed the main character very much. a strong independent woman although there was a romance in there that brought it down a notch but they are an interesting partnership going forward
Good characters caught me up in the story right away. Didn’t want it to end. Slight romance. Much determination. Some mystery solving and reasoning. A fast read.
Thank you for including a list of British idioms. I wish I had seen one sooner. It took me years to figure out what a jumper is from the context. I like the archeology twist.
I enjoyed the first book i read and look forward to reading more.
Ghost of a Chance is an entertaining mystery that leads you on an exciting search for the killer and thief. Maggie and Martin team up and follow the clues until the very end.
I loved this book with it’s wonderful characters. Hope to read more from this author.
I wanted to like this book. The characters were likable. The premise was enticing. It just didn’t come together for me.
Most enjoyable story! Lovely characters and good murder mystery. I liked it a lot!
3 1/2 stars A fast paced short story that takes place in a English village on the English channel. Part mystery part romance. An antique jar that seems to lead to murder of its owners. While I liked this it seemed a little too fast paced. I would have like to see the characters a little more developed. I still look forward to reading the next book in the series. I really enjoyed the English slang section in the back.
Great quick cozy mystery..reminiscent of Agatha Christy…nice for a one sitting read. Thoroughly enjoyed will be reading more
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters, and the mystery story line. I would totally recommend…
The ghosts didn’t really show up until the end. Hopefully there will be more of the ghost in the next books in the series.
