This was one you can’t put down. Writing is concise with just enough description to set the scene without droning on. Full of action and suspense. There is one instance of steamy sex (which I skipped – don’t need a play-by-play of other people’s sexscapades) but otherwise a very enjoyable read.
Fun!
I like this story. Ghosties mixed with murder!!!
fun read, will look for the author again
Loved the characters and found myself intrigued with the premise and this author did not disappoint. Good pacing and dialog. I’d recommend this and have to others.
I really liked tje book. Entertaining with interesting characters. Good suspense and a really fun read
I liked the first 3/4ths of book until the main character became a super woman.
I enjoyed this book , it was full of supper natural twists .
Fun to read.
When I go to read a “cozy mystery” that includes ghosts/supernatural, I have a preset notion that this is going to be a quirky tale that keeps things light. NOT a storyline that includes spirit possession of a child (including a menacing “bitch” yelling voice coming out of small child), and I’m guessing actual remedies used by witches to fight off such a possession attempt. Wasn’t impressed w the storyline up to that point and was done when I read that scene and wondered if the author was trying to add “witch-training” in her manuscript.
Enjoyable characters, and small town charm. Like that the author is genuinely involved in her subject of the occult. Sometimes you just need a good scary yarn to take you away! As this is her first fictional book, I am looking forward to watching this authors style develop.
A novel hasn’t been this suspenseful since I read “Jaws” and “Exorcist”. Kept my on my toes. Looking forward to reading another one of Yasmine’s books.
This book presented some hair raising moments. The story line went smoothly and the author did a good job introducing the characters to the reader. I would probably read this author again.
different clean
This is the first book in a series of books. I liked it, I won’t continue on with the series in as much it didn’t hold me attention enough to make me want to continue on with the rest of the series. It’s a fun, easy read.
not my cup of tea. sorry
I have never read a book like this. It was interesting and yet, quite scary in parts. The characters were believable and I felt that I learned some things about the spirit world. I would recommend this book but don’t read it in the dark alone!
I can only rate this book a three star. All in all it was a good story. It was well written. However, the whimsical cover would lead one to believe it was a light, cozy mystery. However, the sex was too graphic and this took away from the overall enjoyment of the story. I would like to have been warned that it was graphic and not at all cozy.
I enjoy ghost stories this was listed as a cozy. Didn’t really think it was cozy. Kip had unleashed a nasty spirit that had to be sent away and mom got a bit too cozy with Andrew to fast.
I liked this book OK, but even for a Cozy mystery it was sometimes a little too cute.
