“A novel that reads like science fiction but bristles with rich detail about how the next World War could be fought.” —Vice“A modern-day successor to tomes such as The Hunt for Red October from the late Tom Clancy.” –USA Today What Will World War III Look Like? Ghost Fleet is a page-turning imagining of a war set in the not-too-distant future. Navy captains battle through a modern-day Pearl … the not-too-distant future. Navy captains battle through a modern-day Pearl Harbor; fighter pilots duel with stealthy drones; teenage hackers fight in digital playgrounds; Silicon Valley billionaires mobilize for cyber-war; and a serial killer carries out her own vendetta. Ultimately, victory will depend on who can best blend the lessons of the past with the weapons of the future. But what makes the story even more notable is that every trend and technology in book—no matter how sci-fi it may seem—is real.
The debut novel by two leading experts on the cutting edge of national security, Ghost Fleet has drawn praise as a new kind of technothriller while also becoming the new “must-read” for military leaders around the world.
“A wild book, a real page-turner.”—The Economist
“Ghost Fleet is a thrilling trip through a terrifyingly plausible tomorrow. This is not just an excellent book, but an excellent book by those who know what they are talking about. Prepare to lose some sleep.”—D. B. Weiss, writer of HBO’s Game of Thrones
“It’s exciting, but it’s terrifying at the same time.”—General Robert Neller, commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps

The writing style was too dry for me. The 1st chapter was dynamite and then it lost it’s pizzazz.
Slow start and a bit confusing in the beginning …but once it got going …I did in fact really like it!
I really enjoyed the premise and the futuristic technology examples. A head to head war with China, probably is in the not too distant future, either over Taiwan or the other islands they are trying to claim. What wasn’t mentioned or theorized is what Russia would be doing while we were busy fighting China in the Pacific. Either over running …
Very engaging.
This is a novel of the very possible near future, where the computers and other electronics used by the military and consumers are crippled by Chinese-made components.
A very interesting near-future war story revolving around a number of real technologies that are now being tested or implemented. The authors are professionals in the defense industry so it is a very possible/authentic story. This is not to say that the characters were not interesting. It was an all-around great book.
This could be the future after all history repeats itself only with new technology
The book portrays a military-conflict scenario that reads like science fiction but in fact isn’t far from reality, certainly so in the near future. Good character development, plenty of action and some twists that you remember afterward. A fun read.
A mid-term future Sino-American war scenario that’s very realistic in its predictions for military technology. Veers a bit too far into science fiction on occasion with socio-cultural predictions, but otherwise is a page turner for any military history/science buff.
Ghost Fleet is a story about WWlll. It is extremely far fetched but slightly interesting. There are several things happening at the same time, all the time, but the author makes each transition well. I was never confused about where each scene was taking place.
We are supposed to believe that this takes place in a far superior technical age, …
Ghost Fleet is a thrilling trip through a terrifyingly plausible tomorrow. This is not just an excellent book, but an excellent book by those who know what they are talking about. Prepare to lose some sleep.
Ghost Fleet is a gripping account of an all-too-possible future where America has lost its technological edge and US-China relations have deteriorated to the point of war. Although American decline and US-China conflict are by no means inevitable, this exciting techno-thriller provides an ominous warning of what might be coming our way if the …
Everyone thinking about conflict between the great powers in the coming decades should read this book.
I found it difficult to follow because it jumped around so much. lt reflected so much that we know to be true that it is scary to look into the future and where we could be going.
Pretty good WW3 story set in the near future. The ending was pretty lame, as if the author ran out of time.
I want to write a review but I don’t want to give anything away. If you want to glimpse the future read this book; read it and be afraid because it is closer than you think.
Good integration of current real technology with some short range prediction into a geopolitical thriller. Like Douglas E. Richards crossed with Tom Clancy.
I think if all world leaders would read a book like this, they would realize how stupid another war would be. Seems the USA , is always at a disadvantage in battles like this, since we are the recipient of “sneak attacks” Better keep your eyes open, USA.
Scary real… informative take on how geopolitics impairs and impacts the technology of our military.
Not the best written book, but the plot line is fascinating.
