But sometimes the dead don’t stay that way. … sometimes the dead don’t stay that way.
Grace knows her past can’t be forgiven. She’s stayed hidden as long as she could, but now the secrets slowly suffocating her won’t stay buried any longer.
And the man she helped break, the man she’s always loved, is the only one who can stop this nightmare.

The Ghost will rise.

Oh how I love this series! Dorian’s aka Ghost story was even better than I thought it would be. I loved finding out more about him and loved him and Grace aka Ray together. The men of Linear Tactical and the women who love them are just fantastic and I can’t wait for the next book!
Ghost by Janie Crouch is a powerful 2nd chance romance that is so much more. I have been waiting to read Ghost aka Dorian’s story for awhile now and it is truly one that will require tissues. Dorian’s story is darker, starker and full of the rawness and intensity that the feelings this story does evoke.
Without giving any spoilers away, Grace who is his “dead” love and she’s back. Her return isn’t viewed as a good thing necessarily. Grace has spent the last 6 years wishing she could have a redo on life and especially with Dorian. Now she has to save Ghost and prove her innocence or the person trying to frame her for murder will get away with it.
This book is different than the past books but that’s what made this really interesting and exciting. The characters had a past and the past blurred the present. Did she or didn’t she ? Lots of fun secrets come out as the team race against the clock to save the main characters and the feels in this story are full of grit and rawness; poignancy and sadness; love and hope. I can’t wait to read the next book in this extremely exciting series by Janie Crouch.
My Rating: 4.8 stars ********
Anyone who has read this series has been waiting for Ghost’s story He is the member of the team who has the severe PTSD that leads t him spending months holed up in the wilderness either that or pounding his friends to get rid of his aggression
Dorian “Ghost” Lindstrom saw the love of his life Grace”Wraith” Brandt blown up in Afghanistan and if that wasn’t bad enough he was captured at the same time and spent 41 days been tortured by insurgents if it hadn’t been for a anonymous tip that his team got allowing them to rescue him he would have died there. So why does he now have a feeling that Wraith is following him in the woods confirmed when he received a quarrel to his side with a message .attached. How can a women who he loved and mourned actually be alive and what secret is she protecting. While I had trouble with Wraiths character she had to be this way for the story to work out and ye she did grow in you. This is a masterfully written story that anyone who loves this series shouldn’t miss If you are new to the series please read the other books first as you will understand the world they live in so much better.
This is a great book in a great series. It is full of suspense, intrigue, and unpredictable surprises. The characters are well developed. They are two broken souls that finding healing in each other. I highly recommend this book and series.
Amazing Series.
Ghost is a great addition to the Linear Tactical Series. It is a fast-paced, suspenseful read with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It is full of action, suspense, intrigue and danger but, it is the wonderful characters that pull you in and keeps you pulling for them until the end. I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series.
Ghost was an intense mystery that keeps a reader on the edge of his chair throughout. There are so many twists and turns and little surprises to keep it very interesting and entertaining. The love between Ghost and Ray is so strong that it makes a person ache for them. There is a great family of characters for Ghost and for Ray in the end. This book is as great as the other Linear Tactical Series books I have read and enjoyed.
A story of overcoming the impossible and trusting love. You must read this series. Ghost has always been the distanced one. Preferring the outdoors to being around crowds. He thought his one love wad dead. Events start to unfold and he starts to think his mind is playing tricks on him. He may be haunted by his memories, but he knows Grace and is sure she is out there. Grace comes back into his life and his friends don’t know what to think. They will both be thrust back into their past. One thing they both know is they will do anything to not harm each other or go down trying.
I loved this book. The characters were well developed and the history was well defined. The story was great and the ending was great. I can’t wait to read what comes next.
Close to perfection. (4.5) I have enjoyed the Linear Tactical series, and was looking forward to the next story, Ghost, because I love the series and don’t want it to end. When I was fortunate enough to received an arc for Ghost, I grabbed my coffee and sat down to be entertained. I was not expecting the intense story I received, I was not expecting to hurt for Dorian, to cry for Grace/Ray. To know that even though this is a story, so much can be related to our deployed and veterans. It brought it all home. The twist, OMG, the twist, broke my heart and the strength to which Grace/Ray had to do what she could during that time was mind blowing. The book was so intense in comparison with the others in that series, that to me, it felt a little off when the other characters were brought in to reduce some of the tension. Now I wonder how close the government is in real life to pull some of that off! I highly recommend this book, and you do not need to read the others to enjoy it, but why not treat your self to them 🙂 This was a one sitting read, and then I had to wait to pick up any other book, by anyone, I had to deal with my thoughts and feelings. Thank you Janie Crouch for sharing your talent with us. All thoughts and opinions are my own and were unsolicited.
Incredible!
This is one of the weirdest books I’ve ever read and also one of the most wonderful. There’s no way to describe the trust and love among true soul mates and also between soldiers that have fought along side each other it just is. The intensity and the depth is something unbelievably strong that cannot be severed by mere mortals no matter how evil and determined. The characters are as remarkable as the story itself and are brought alive through the words of this masterful author.
Warning: This is a super difficult book to put down and requires determination to do so.
Guarantees: You’ll be hooked almost instantly, and you’ll be glad you read it!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
This is the fourth book in the Linear Tactical Series by Ms. Crouch, each book can be read as a stand alone, but not reading the previous ones means your missing out on great action, romantic stories.
Dorian Lindstrom, known as Ghost, is a former Green Beret, captured and tortured in an Afghani prison six years ago. He has slowly returned to the land of the living thanks to a lot of psychiatric sessions and the care of his teammates in Linear Tactical, who have become his family. Severe PTSD is just one of his problems. He was captured when he lost concentration on his mission, seeing a woman he cared deeply for blown up. She shouldn’t have been there. Her name was Grace, she was known as Wraith in there Covert Black Ops team called Project Crypt. He can’t get the picture of that explosion out of his mind.
Grace Brandt, now known as Ray, did not die in that explosion but at times wishes she had. It was her fault Dorian was captured, and her plan is to warn him the Project Crypt was not at all what it seemed. She suffers from unbearable migraines, nose bleeds and dizziness which seem to have no rhyme or reason when they manifest. She finally reveals herself to Ghost to protect him and hope he will help with her plan to obliterate Project Crypt.
Ghost is fast paced, with lots of twists and turns that will keep you thinking. The second chance love story is hot, and picking up with the other Linear Tactical characters is very enjoyable. Can’t wait for the next in the series.

Wow!! This book was amazing. Full of action and some twists to the story. Ray was a fantastic character and I really enjoyed her. Dorian was also fantastic and I was so happy he got his story! When the two get together to try to find an assassin the chemistry was hot and some sexy time was included. Linear Tactical’s previous characters were also included and it was great to have them included. This was just an fantastic story all the way around. I loved it!!!
My, my, my..what did I just read??? It was SO intense! And intensely good! Edge of my seat reading. I hardly even know where to start. So I guess I’ll start with the main characters. Wow, they were 2 severely skilled, severely damaged, complex people. I liked them and the depth that they both had. Also it was easy to fell like I was pulled into their drama. With everything that they both went through and were still going through the love was still there. But don’t get the idea that it was going to make everything easy for them.
Secondary people in this story pull their weight and add a lot to it.
When it comes to this series, and this book the author’s middle name should be a rather long one. Like “Surprises Galore, heart-pumping, someone who is writing outside the box.”
P.T.S.D is also addressed in a deeper way than a lot of other stories.
As I got quite a bit further in the book my suspicion of a particular person grew. I was practically shouting, “What about ___? What about ___?” Yes, I was right about that but then the author also threw a huge monkey wrench that I didn’t see coming! Man, I love that!
I also enjoyed the author’s personal note about what it was like writing this book. I’m glad that she persevered! It went far beyond my expectations!
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
I received an ARC for this book. I have enjoyed reading the Linear Tactical series. Each book takes you into the background of each person. Finally, I got to know Ghost (Dorian). Ghost was brought into each book as a member of the team, providing help for his friends when needed. In the past, Ghost loved Wraith (Grace) another operative involved in the same secret project with him. He was captured while trying to save Wraith from a bomb. Years later, he feels her presence in the forest. He has always wondered if she was dead. When the two reunite, they become involved in a mystery regarding their past. Ghost tries to save Wraith and she him. The love they feel for each other is precious and has survived hardship and separation. The characters are strong and unforgettable. Of all the characters in the Linear Tactical group, I have always been partial to Ghost, the loner. Can these two solve their problems? Will they be able to have a life together? I would recommend this book to everyone.
Numb. My brain and emotions are numb. This book put me through the wringer. Dorian has always been one of my favorite members of Linear Tactical. I know part of it is the wounded warrior, but another part is the strong silent alpha. These are archetypes that just do it for me. So, when I learned that his perfect match is another strong silent wounded alpha warrior, it was like feeding me catnip. I couldn’t read this book fast enough. I has my suspicions early on and I couldn’t wait to find out if I was right or way off base. Turns out, I was both. And the plot threads that have been set in place for Shadow’s story leave me salivating for the next book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
Ghost is the fifth book in the Linear Tactical series, and the hero of this book is the elusive Dorian Lindstrom. We know from previous books that he doesn’t play well with others, although we’ve never really known why. He’s known to go wandering in the forest for weeks on end, away from civilisation.
In his book, we find out why. We also meet Grace Brandt, also known as Wraith. She’s been dead for six years, but has no choice but to seek out Dorian when she finds out something that threatens both their lives and the lives of others they once worked with.
Dorian is desperate for answers – why is Grace still alive? Why is someone trying to kill them both? What secrets does she know that she’s not telling him? He’ll do whatever he has to do to keep his LT family safe, even if it means sacrificing the only woman he’s ever loved… or himself.
Every time I read a Linear Tactical book, I think I can’t possibly love it any more than the previous one, but every time Janie Crouch proves me wrong. With strong characters you’re cheering for, twists and turns in every chapter, and a revelation that you won’t see coming, the storyline and the romance will draw you in and keep you hooked.
Dorian has always been an intriguing character in the previous Linear Tactical books in this wonderful series. His story is very powerful and extremely emotional. Ray is someone from Dorians past whom he thought was dead, killed just before he was captured and inhumanely tortured. Their story is complicated as all the twists are unravelled but totally awesome. This is an absolutely brilliant series and should not be missed.
Oh how I enjoyed Ghost’s story! It was full of action packed drama I just couldn’t put it down the whole time I was reading it. I half expected as much as all the other books in this series had pretty much been the same way. Ghost aka Dorian is such a lovely character, you just can’t help but feel for him. A victim of being held captive and tortured for weeks had left him mentally and physically scarred. He had fared worse because his one girlfriend had died at the time of his capture….. or so he thought. It was great to see a small glimpse into the mind of Dorian and his true feelings. This series really is fantastic and if you haven’t read any in the series, you are definitely missing out. Best read in order and this is book 5. It had been such a ride, that i can not wait to read what Janie had in store for us next!
I have been intrigued by Dorian’s character since the first book of the Linear Tactical series and only grew to love him through the books. Janie did not disappoint with his book and has given Dorian the story he so richly deserves, and has done so with such vivid and heartfelt emotions that the reader is left overwhelmed by the power of this book. I knew I’d be hooked right away and I wasn’t wrong. The pacing and the plot of this book is heart racing and mind blowing. The plot is full of not only romance, but intrigue and mystery. A formidable combination!
Fast-paced and a bit grittier than previous the stories in the series, this was a tough read at times as both Grace and Dorian deal with the lingering after effects of severe trauma. Watching Dorian’s struggle with panic attacks and Grace’s stress can be seen as difficult for some. However, their commitment to finding the truth, dismantling the group that is hunting them, and rebuilding not only their relationship but a life that they can share with others shows the strength in both of these characters. Definitely a must read for fans of Janie Crouch and this series.
I’ve been waiting for Ghost’s book since the start of the series and I am not disappointed. I was totally engrossed in the book and couldn’t put it down. But now, I’m letting waiting for Shadow’s story. So many questions! I need answers and hopefully, Shadows will give us some.
