Dorian Lindstrom, codename Ghost, knows everyone breaks under torture. His five weeks in an enemy prison taught him that with unmerciful precision. He’s put his life back together as best he can with the help from his brothers at Linear Tactical. But he’s never gotten over his love for Grace Brandt, her part in his capture, or the fact that she died. But sometimes the dead don’t stay that way. … sometimes the dead don’t stay that way.
Grace knows her past can’t be forgiven. She’s stayed hidden as long as she could, but now the secrets slowly suffocating her won’t stay buried any longer.
And the man she helped break, the man she’s always loved, is the only one who can stop this nightmare.
She’ll need a Ghost to fight her demons, and he’s more than willing to prove she’s worth the fight.
The Ghost will rise.

Dorian is a member of Linear Tactical team but before he joined he was tortured in a Afghani prison.
He is just trying to survive day to day and has become a loner with severe PTSD. When he finds out that the love of his life is still alive he will everything to keep Grace safe. Grace does not think her past can ever be forgiven but she wants to warn Dorian of the danger coming after them.
This story pulled you in and would not let go till the very last page. I have been looking forward to Dorian’s story and just knew it was going to be great; I was right-it was fantastic. It had the suspense, drama, mystery and romance that you want in a story. I can’t say enough about Janie’s books. They are always a page turned with a few surprises added in.
I received a copy and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion.
If you are looking for a sweet romance, this is not the book for you, but if you are looking for an action packed and thought provoking story then you are in the right place.
GHOST is the code name Dorian Lindstrom, an elite Special Forces soldier that spent 41 days in an Afghani prison. He suffers from PTSD and those days not only still haunt him but changed him forever. After surviving an experience like that, who wouldn’t be?
He keeps himself isolated from the world, except for his former teammates , and long time friends, and working at Linear Tactics.
Dorian thinks he’s hallucinating when the dead woman he loved, also an operative, seems to be around the woods where he lives.
Grace/Ray Brandt, had to stay dead in order to survive, but when individuals from the experimental group she , Ghost, and another Linear Tactic member, Shadow , were part of start dying, she reaches out to Dorian.
This story that is more suspense, than a romance, was at times hard to read. Not my favorite of the series, but still a very good story that makes you wonder what mind altering experiments might actually be performed nowadays.
Looking forward to the next story in the series.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
This is by far the most powerful and emotional story in this series!
Dorian and Grace/Ray were meant for each other. They’re both betrayed by the people they trusted the most. Dorian was captured and tortured. He was made to believe that Grace was dead. He suffers daily from PTSD and the memories of his sweet Grace. But lately he can feel her presence. Could his Grace be alive?
Grace made a bargain after Dorian was captured. She’s done unspeakable things. She will do anything to protect Dorian. Grace’s changed her name to Ray and come back from the dead. Will Dorian forgive her for turning her back on him and the lies she’s told?
Will they get the chance to move forward before everything falls apart again?
They were once two broken halves of a heart when separated. But together again with one heart that beats so strong it can heal the most unbearable pain.
“I voluntarily received this arc book for an honest review”
This story took my breath away.
Ghost
Linear Tactical Series
Janie Crouch
Engrossing story that pulls you into the past, present, and future of Dorian and Ray. Thinking for 6 long years that Ray has been killed Dorian begins to see signs that maybe she didn’t die after all.
Once again a story that wrings your heart with emotions for the characters in such a way that you feel deeply for them. Strong alpha hero and heroine as only Janie Crouch can create.
Set aside plenty of time to read it as it is impossible to put down until the end.
I knew this book was going to be epic but it blew my expectations out of the water.
So much happens in this book I can’t say much but wow, every book in the LT series gets better and better, the stuff covered in this one fascinates me and I can’t wait to read more of it in the next book.
Would give Ghost more stars if I could.
I liked learning more about Dorian and what made him tick. He’s always the reliable tracker and quiet guy who has everyone’s back, but now the team has his back and by extension, Graces’ too. What I found most interesting was Grace and Dorian’s damaged psyches. Dorian had his friends and a trusting doctor to help him deal with events, but Grace had no one. While it was hard not to compare the two and how they dealt with their past, what was obvious was how perfectly suited Dorian and Grace were and just how deep their feelings ran for one another.
I have been super curious about Dorian’s story, but never expected the diabolical background behind his and Grace’s past! (Granted, they didn’t know any of it either, so I guess we were all surprised by what we learned.) Book 5 in the Linear Tactical series has it all-suspense, great cast, old friends, and a few surprises along the way. I think Heath’s book is up next and I’m anxiously hoping for some big answers!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
