Getting Worked Up, Sapphire Falls book two
Phoebe Sherwood is in love with the perfect man. Well, except for the fact that he’s in love with someone else. But Phoebe isn’t the type to let a little detail like that keep her from getting what she wants.
And as she’s plotting how to get him back, she meets the perfect solution—Joe Spencer. The city boy is in town to retrieve his sort-of … retrieve his sort-of fiancé—the woman who stole Phoebe’s man— and when he hears Phoebe’s plan to reclaim their respective soul mates, he’s in.
Bright and sparkly. That’s Joe’s first impression of Phoebe. He’s always been attracted to sparkly things—like neon casino signs, sequined evening gowns and Porsches. In fact, his affinity for those things, and the trouble they can cause, are exactly why he’s determined to change his habits and settle down.
But if he’s going to win his girl back, he’s going to need to learn a new way of life. Country line dancing, guzzling homemade moonshine and getting rid of his custom-made suits are what it takes to fit into Sapphire Falls… and he’s got some work to do.
Thank goodness Phoebe is the perfect coach.
And everything will be just fine… as long as they can keep their hands off of each other and remember which hearts they are trying to win over.
You should read this book if you like quirky small towns, over-the-top romantic gestures, hot descriptive love scenes, naughty words and country music. You should not read this if you don’t like, well, any of the things above.

Reading Phoebe and Joe’s story was fun, hilarious, a bit sad and at one stage I thought my Kindle might burst into flames.
It hurt my heart that both Phoebe and Joe thought they had to change themselves and that the answer to that was to marry their best friends whom they loved but weren’t in love with. I loved seeing them show eachother that they were perfect for eachother just the way they were.
Well, this is pure and simple entertainment. It’s a fun, quick read that has engaging characters. Although those characters are not all that deep, they are fairly entertaining. Getting Worked Up is the second book in the Sapphire Falls series. It took longer for me to get into the story than Getting Out of Hand, the first in the series, but once I did I found it a little more engaging.
Phoebe is the girl next door that everyone loves to hang out with and goes to for advice. She is not the one anyone is interested in taking beyond “good friend” status. She has always known that she’s going to marry Matt, he is her best friend and her perfect match. Now Matt is about to propose…only not to Phoebe. Joe has known Nadia his entire life. They are from the same social circle, grew up together, have similar backgrounds, they are the perfect match. Only now Nadia is about to become engaged to someone else. Yep, that would be Matt. So, Joe and Phoebe team up to stop the whole thing and that’s when all sorts of things start happening and Sapphire Falls residents start watching the action closely.
This one is another entertaining and fun addition to the Sapphire Falls series. I have to be honest, I like The Boys of the Bayou series better, but this series was written well before that one so I’m sure Ms Nicholas’ writing style reflects the experience gained. Now I need to decide if I want to go onto book three in Sapphire Falls or take a break. Lauren and Travis have intrigued me……..
loved it
Wonderful characters, great sassy dialogues. Couldn’t put down!!
Wonderful
What a great continuation of the series. Loved thinking you are in the hometown good boy to find love in the guy who works with your best female friend.
Sapphire Falls is a great little town. I can’t wait to read more about the town’s residents. I would recommend this to anyone who likes small town romances.
What a very fun story to read. This story had many laugh out loud moments and yet it was still sexy, sweet, and heartfelt. Phoebe was an adorable character and Joe was funny and sexy. I loved their instant chemistry even though they both think they were in love with other people. It was fun reading how they finally realized where their heart belonged. This story definitely kept a smile on my face throughout the reading. I just discovered this series recently so I’m really going to enjoy catching up on the other books of Sapphire Falls.
