Rocque Oliphant has simple wants: a fine sword at his hip, a good meal in his belly, and a lusty wench by his side. His position as the Oliphant Commander, leader of men, ensures the first, and his long-term affair with Merewyn, the clan healer, ensures the second and third. She brings him joy–and pleasure–in ways he once only dreamed of!Aye, things are going well in his life…at least they … least they were, right up until his father–the laird–demanded he marry and start producing grandsons. If Rocque wants to beat his brothers at a chance for the lairdship, he needs to find a willing woman to bear his sons–and fast!
But Merewyn, the stubborn lass, refuses to marry him and won’t tell him why. Rocque can’t imagine spending his life with anyone else! So if he can’t marry another lass, and the one he wants won’t marry him, what chance does he have to secure the title of the new laird?
As the Oliphant healer, Merewyn knows her value to the clan. She is also quite aware she doesn’t need to marry…and the only way she will, is for love. And Rocque, stubborn idiot that he is, won’t tell her his true feelings. Can she be blamed for saying nay to his proposal? But now she’s running out of time and knows she has no choice but to tell him the truth, or set him free, because in a few months, everyone in the clan will know her secret!
Rocque might have more brawn than brains, but he’s smart enough to know he can’t lose Merewyn. But is he prepared for the battle it’s going to take to prove that to her?
Warning: This story contains naughty bits. Lots of them. Ridiculous amounts. Also contains characters and conversations which are funny enough to make you spit out your tea. For the sake of your Kindle, do not drink while reading this book. That is all; you may now carry on.

Wonderful, Delightful & Romantic
This is not a history filled story. So if you are expecting it, you will be disappointed. The Story, characters & plot was Absolutely Wonderful. I truly love Aunt Agatha regarding the Ghostly drummer “Dooooommmmmed”
ROFLMBO
It is so enjoyable to read stories that are all truly individual to the character and not the same old plots and Getting Scott and Bothered is truly an enjoyable read! Caroline Lee has written a madcap romp through the Highlands as Aunt Aretha hearing the Ghostly Drummer and yelling dooomed, “Tis what she said”. I loved reading about Rocque and Merewyn, two head-strong individuals and the appearances from characters from the previous novels that we love. How many times will Rocque ask Merewyn to marry him and will she finally say yea in this melting romance that was pure delight, filled with boundless humor, hilarious events, intense emotions from despair to sizzling passion and the love of one crazy family!
This is the first book in the series I have read and I was not disappointed. Though it was a little more spicy than I prefer, there was a ton of humor and many sweet moments. The family dynamics and clan relationships make me want to read more in this series.
I was just completely delighted with the story of Rocque & Merewyn! Visiting the Oliphant Keep is always such a delight, but I was especially intrigued with the independent Merewyn and the slightly mule-headed Rocque. Somehow they managed to dance around their feelings for a year, while embarking on a passionate affair…never mind that our lady is already pregnant, and refuses to settle for less than love. The naughty bits were especially titillating and there’s no question that they suit each other perfectly. Can’t wait to visit the Keep again soon!
I am loving this series. Merewyn and Rocque are such a great couple. Together for a year Rocque keeps asking her to marry him. She refuses, she is holding out for his love. She is also hiding a secret that makes it hard for her to turn down his proposals. Before he has a chance to profess his love, someone else has their eye on her and will do anything to make her his. Now Rocque must save her and convince her of his love. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
This series is so fun and a little naughty. I’m really enjoying these brothers and their quest for brides after their father declares they are all to find wife’s and produce sons. These are definitely lol stories. I anxiously await the next book.
A romantic comedy set in Medieval Scotland — just what we need now, a brilliant, hilarious escape with a Happy End.
Tis What She Said – after reading this book just try to get that phrase out of your head. This book was such fun and a good laugh is what we all need during stressful times.
Oh what a good life Rocque Oliphant, Clan Commander, has – a good sword, a full belly and a fiery woman in his bed. Now, his father, the laird, has given him & his brothers an ultimatum to marry & the first to present him with a grandson will take his place as the new laird of Oliphant Clan. Rocque has had a long affair with Merewyn, the clan healer, and they bring each other happiness and pleasure but will she marry him?
But Merewyn, the stubborn lass, refuses to marry him and won’t tell him why. Rocque can’t imagine spending his life with anyone else! So if he can’t marry another lass, and the one he wants won’t marry him, what chance does he have to secure the title of the new laird?
Merewyn is a romantic; she will never marry unless it is for love, and her importance to the clan as their healer keeps her life secure without having to marry. She loves Rocque but when he asks her to be his wife, he doesn’t mention love and her answer is a big “no”. Well, I can understand her decision but she also has a secret she is keeping and she must tell Rocque or let him go.
I was gifted the Advanced Reader Copy of this book & all opinions are my own & have been voluntarily given.
Getting Scott and Bothered, by Caroline Lee is a book worth reading. Caroline Lee’s way of telling stories through her books is a work of art. The story was told with ease. The book did not stall or grow boring. Page after page the love story moved with anticipation of what was to happen next.
I was able to understand the Scottish dialect, where I could follow along with the story. The book brought enough steamy scenes between Rocue and Merewyn. So much so, that I thought my iPad would go up in flames from the heat that transpired between the two. Tis what she said. The book did have it’s twist between the villain and Rocue that leaves the reader rooting for the good guy.
All in all, this is a book to read and enjoy. My fellow readers, I recommend this book. Until next time… read on! Tis what she said. Dagnabit, now that saying is going to be stuck in my head.
Tis what she said. Lol, I walked into my own joke. Go ahead. Say it. I voluntary reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.
