Four and a half stars. This is a funny, silly story and I loved it. Ruthie and Baggy are something else. Roxy is the good girl who gets jilted on her wedding day. They decide to take the honeymoon in Hawaii anyway. Kai is every girl’s dream guy except for one thing. This is a great afternoon read or in case you need a pick me up.

When Roxy gets left at the alter by her groom it is her fun loving grandmother along with her sister who takes over and they head out to the islands where Roxy meets Kai who does a little bit of everything at the resort including giving Roxy some romance along the way. Lovely story with romance and some really cute fun.

GETTING LEI’D is the first book in the Escape series. The books in this series can be read in any order.
This was one of the best rom-coms I have ever read. Who needs sleep when there is something this good to do (read) instead? It is fun, flirty, light, sweet, and innocently romantic. That does NOT mean there isn’t a good bit of steam. This should not be shared with the teenagers!
I loved that Kai and Roxy were fully emotionally involved long before the clothes came off. In fact, that was an important factor of this story… but I won’t tell you why.
Somewhere around here I have a copy of ALOHA, BABY! You can bet your last jar of Nana Lana’s Coconut Balm that I will be reading it as soon as I have a break in my blogging schedule!
Note: While I received this book as a gifted copy via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Getting Lei’d by Ann Omasta. The book is a good contemporary romance that I found very entertaining. The chemistry between the main characters is perfect. I found this story to be very enjoyable and steamy; a good mix of drama, sexy scenes, and strong characters and of course HEAs. ENJOYED!
An intriguing read that I enjoyed the banter and at times was hard to put down. Exciting twists and great chemistry. An enjoyable read I would recommend.
I really enjoyed this story. Hawaii with a jilted bride, a flaky sister and a crazy grandma, My kind of laugh. Certain parts are lol and others? Well, that’s why romance is written. A good time!

What a fun, light, and sexy read. I was pulled in from page one. Roxy, Kai…and everybody needs a Baggy. Love. Love. Love.
What a wonderful read. Living way at the bottom of the world, in New Zealand I read this in our summer. A great beach read.
I absolutely loved this one! If you’re looking for an amazing rom com, don’t pass this one up 🙂
This book made me an Ann Omasta fan.
This is the first book in the Escape series by Ms Omasta and I read it for an escape. Meh. It didn’t pan out as I had hoped. The story is told rather than letting the reader experience it. The characters were static. Of course, the entire story takes place within a week’s time so I suppose there isn’t time for things like character development or more than telling of a tale. This is definitely not much more than an afternoon read that’s got a jilted bride, a crazy grandma, and an impulsive sister all going away on an adventure in Hawaii. There are laugh-out-loud moments and crazy antics to make up for the shortcomings of this book.
I both read the ebook and listened to the audiobook. I was kind of disappointed.
When reading the book, it seemed more like someone was reading you a book instead of engaging you in a story. I could see where the story could be really entertaining with the quirky grandmother, but I never felt that connection with the characters.
Roxie was dumped, at the altar, via text, and her best friend FROM GRADE SCHOOL was involved, but by the time she got to Hawaii, it seemed like she had forgotten about it. She saw Kai and was laser focused on him.
For me, it felt like there were a few holes in the story. I’m not 100% sure it would have made a big difference. I don’t know if I would have felt that connection, even with additional information.
I’m not sure how I felt about Kai and Roxie. I know Kai was supposed to look like Jason Momoa with a gap in his teeth, but I honestly can’t remember what either Roxie or Ruthie was supposed to look like. I got a hint of attraction between Roxie and Kai, and it never seemed to become any more intense. No real chemistry.
Listening to the Audiobook was not much better. I really wanted to like this book. The narration was bland. Once again, I felt like the book was being read to me, almost as if the narrator was reading a newspaper article.
It was a quick, easy read and listen, but it was just ok. I purchased the book and voluntarily listened to and reviewed the audiobook.
I liked it!
Very short and fast paced read. Loved the concept and characters but it read more like an outline. Needs to be fleshed out. Everything seemed to fall into place too easily and the characters were a little two dimensional.
Ok
A sweet couple. They jump into love so fast I was a bit put off. Thought in theory it’s romantic, I just didn’t think they had developed the relationship enough. The ending was pretty great though.
Just ok
This one was just ok.Kind of didn’t care for the name Baggy. And an Adonis virgin didn’t really hold up. Not really the normal kind of promos made to a dying mother. He should have been smart enough to to reason that the meds were making here delusional
