Everyone needs a gramma like Roxy’s!
An light hearted story with excellent characters to entertain. The love is crazy real. HI is the paradise everyone thinks and the natives are fascinating. The only thing that could h as ve made it better was if we knew Kai’s thoughts as well.
It was refreshing to have a main character with such strong convictions.

Getting Lei’d
The Escape Series, Book 1
By: Ann Omasta
Narrated by: Ann Omasta
This is a delightful story, a great balance of humor and heart. I enjoyed Anna Omasta’s writing, as well as her narration. The storylines and characters she created are interesting, they immediately grabbed my attention and held it right to the end. Roxy was a jilted bride, she received a text from her fiancé on their intended wedding day telling her he couldn’t do it and he was in love with her best friend. Her grandmother, Baggy, takes charge, whisks Roxy and her sister Ruthie away in her fiance’s car. Her grandmother is a hoot, love how she got her name Baggy and she sure lived up to it. Next step for the trio is the honeymoon in Hawaii, unknown where they were booked to stay, thankfully someone from the resort is holding up a sign with her ex’s last name. That someone was Kai, a tall hunk of a man who looks like Jason Momoa. A bit of confusion is cleared up and he brings them to the resort. I loved how everything plays out, Baggy meets someone, Ruthie meets someone who then crushes her heart and Roxy and Kai hit it off too. Ann Omasta fit a lot of story into this book, the dialogue is hysterical at times and there are some sweet heartfelt moments as well. Is there a HEA for Roxy, what kind of trouble does Baggy get herself into. I highly recommend this book, it is entertaining and will put a smile on your face.
I listened to the Audible edition, Ann Omasta did a wonderful job narrating her story. She not only created these characters but she brings them to life right off of the pages giving each their own voice and personality. She was awesome at projecting the emotions of the characters into her performance as well as the humor and the drama. Thank you for this great story and listen

This was a great read that had you go through a mix of emotions, sadness at what had happened to Roxy on her wedding day to hilarity with the antics of Grandma, cringing at the lust Roxy’s sister Ruthie has for one of the workers at the resort and the hope that Roxy might get over what happened and open her heart to someone new. There is plenty going on to keep you turning the page and you feel like you are there with them all as one disastrous wedding day turns into an adventure for the 3 of these lovable ladies who keep you entertained all the way and you just hope through it all Roxy finds her true self and lets Kai in!

I loved Baggy (Bad Grandma) she’s perfect! This is a fun, sweet rom-com and one of my favorites by this author. Ann Omasta’s description of the characters, all the craziness Baggy and Roxy get into and the HEA makes this great read. I can’t wait to see what this amazing author comes up with next.
She was dumped by a text message right before her wedding day, then she’s on her honeymoon with her sister and her grandma. This is not how Roxy thought her wedding day would go! Being in Hawaii might be just the thing she needs to get over being dumped via text. A sexy hotel employee could also help her move forward. A funny, entertaining story and the perfect summer read.

This is a fun, light read with plenty of humor. It is a story with drama/conflicts that is resolved relatively quickly. I enjoyed this story very much.

This is book one in The Escape Series a well written story that I enjoyed reading. Getting dump by her loser boyfriend is the best thing that could have happened to Roxy Rose. I liked how Kai, the resort’s hunky and talented chauffeur, bartender, and flame-thrower comes into her life and makes this a great non-honeymoon. And how they get their happy ending that was a surprise.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is book one in The Escape series. I found it to be an interesting and entertaining read. Roxy Rose has her wedding day and honeymoon all planned out. She received a text, yep – a text message, from her fiancee that the wedding was off and everything was done. Roxy goes on her honeymoon with her sister and grandma to Hawaii. Some rest and relaxation is what is on the agenda. The resort bartender, flame thrower and chauffeur, Kai, has set his sights on Roxy. Is it too soon to move on? Is there an appropriate length of time? These two are drawn to one another but what happens when the honeymoon is over?

This is a well written book with strong realistic characters and an entertaining story line. The author does a fantastic job describing her characters and events and paints her scenes beautifully, making you feel you’re there. It’s a light read filled with laughter and fun as well as the “honeymoon” romance. The story moves quickly and smoothly and I enjoyed reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
After the almost wedding, total disaster, the last thing Rocky wants is a honeymoon with Grandma Baggy & her sister. Okay, maybe the hot Kai is okay to look at – or to help her move one – or maybe the idea is as bad as the plan to get married to the type of guy who could dump her callously via text.
Maybe it is time to get over all of it and just get away from all of them, and everything and everyone.
Not taking a chance again after your heart gets broken can end up being the last chance you have at a real romance and a full family of your own life.
Good luck Roxie! You are going to need it- one way or another!

I thoroughly enjoyed this and would have happily kept reading if it was even longer. I adore romantic comedies. The more outrageously laugh-out-loud they are, the more I love them. And this book is one of the funniest things I’ve read all year. Straitlaced Roxy is a misfit in her mostly zany, definitely quirky, family. Kai’s an enigma; a strong silent type who’s keeping his secrets close to the vest. Watching as Kai and Roxy fell in love was utterly adorable. And the cast of eccentric secondary characters stole the show. There are even a few of the supporting cast I would love to see in stories of their own.

Roxy got stood up at the altar – the classical scenario of groom and best friend.
Her sister and her grandmother decide to help her get over her Blues by travelling with her on her honeymoon trip.
What she did not expect was to meet Kei, a wonderful man who makes her glad she still is single.
A fairly straight story with a few small twists, wonderfully written and highly entertaining with the antics of Ruth, the sister and Baggy, aka Bad Grandmother.

Roxy’s grandmother Baggy is a riot deciding to steal the groom’s car and hijack the Hawaiian honeymoon after he jilts her by text on her wedding day. Roxy is attracted to Kai, who works for the hotel she is staying at, but she only wants a fling after her recent experience with romance while he is looking for a woman to wed. There was plenty of humor and sexy moments in this holiday romance.
