Review:
Another great book in the series, however it wasn’t as good as book 3. That really set the bar for me and sadly this one didn’t really life up to it.
I didn’t expect Miranda to be a single mom. Normally I stay away from books with that, not because I have anything against single moms, I respect them but I just don’t like children in my books.
Anyhow I did want to read about Seth because I did like him .
What is this book about:
Seth and Miranda go way back. Well Miranda and Seths mother go way back. Miranda is a dancer, as is Seth’s mother. When Miranda moved to San Diego ( I think is where this book is set) Seths mother asked him to look out for her. And so he did. He spend most nights in the bar where she worked looking out for her. Thats not the only thing he is doing though, he is trying his hardest to get in her pants. There was something about her that made it so he couldn’t walk away. He recons fucking her once would get her out of his system. He isn’t looking for a relationship, especially not with a single mom. Kids aren’t his thing.
Attraction like Seth and Miranda have isn’t something that is easily ignored. When they get together sparks fly and they put the T in dirty. SEALs tend to not show fear and chase a problem head on, but will coming over his aversion of kids prove to be a challenge this SEAL can’t overcome?
What did I like about this book:
I love the sex scenes, there I said it. They where hot. The man/man scene that happend was crazy hot as well. Can’t wait for Dylan’s book.
I liked seeing some of the other characters as well. The fun and the banter remained in this book as well. Its fun reading about all of them.
Overall I did enjoy Seth and Miranda together, her kids where great as well.
Rating:
3 I enjoyed it Stars
I listened to the Audiobook. The narrator did a good job because he managed to clearly convey the difference between Seth and Dylan’s personalities. I was also able to easily forget there was one person doing the narration.
I couldn’t bring myself to like Seth. When I found out about the situation that caused him to make him freak out about Miranda’s kids, I had a bit of sympathy for him, but he was only likeable for a small part of the book.
I don’t know if I could be with a man who didn’t like my kids. Especially if he was around my kids even occasionally. I didn’t feel much about the Seth and Miranda part of the book.
On the other hand, I spent most of my time wondering what was going to happen with Dylan and Aidan. I also thought something might happen with Claire and Dylan.
This book had Seth’s issues, a number of steamy scenes with Miranda, a few cute scenes with her kids, and a few laughs along with a HEA. It was ok.
I’m glad I was able to listen to it via the Audible Romance subscription.

This was my first book by Elle and I quite enjoyed it. Even though it’s not the first in the series it can be read as a stand-alone, so I wasn’t left feeling confused by anything.
I liked the two main characters, however I liked Miranda more than I liked Seth. Once we got to know Seth and the revelation we were waiting for was revealed, I did like him more.
Miranda is a really strong character that was easy to like and admire. She’s a fierce Mumma Bear.
I also was intrigued with how the story had a third narrator, being Dylan, Seth’s roommate. His story sure will be interesting and wasn’t something that I was expecting to want to know how it would play out.
There are a lot of dimensions to this story and it was great to get to know them all. Sometimes the story seemed a little long to me, but at the same time, I think it needed to be told the way it did.
I think I will end up reading more of this series.
