Malik is stepping intoned embracing his unwanted vampire role, but it’s still complicating his life. There is so much growth in Malik and some of our favorite sidekicks! Don’t miss the fabulous vampire ball- it’s hot!
If you’re tooling for your typical vampire story, just keep going. However, if you like snarky, hot vamps and lots of love and drama, quit stalking and take this one home, you won’t regret it!
Absolutely loved the next installment of Malik’s word. Another winner for Kimbra! Some twists I really wasn’t expecting and characters I can’t wait to see again.
Great read! Loved getting to know more of Malik. Looking forward to his next adventure.
Sometimes you have no choice but to give in. But do you allow the status quo to roll over you, or set the whole thing aflame?
Malik accepts that which he never wanted – leadership of the Southern Region of vampires. All the while, some other vampire has gone on a serial murder spree to taint his reign. Fed .up, Malik flexes his inner monster to reform his realm, often to surprising and humorous results.
A fun, interesting, hilarious read.
It’s a great addition to the Vampire Reject stories! Definitely a page-turner that you don’t want to put down!
I thought I liked Malik in his first book. Boy, was I mistaken. The reluctant reject takes a stand in this book, and while I’m being intentionally vague to keep the review spoiler-free, I can safely say that he shows the vampire world who’s balls are biggest, and he does so with great fanfare. Some new characters are introduced, characters I really hope to see more of in future books. I really like the darker spin Kimbra puts on Malik’s story. There’s no gore, sexual content, violence or excessive swearing unless it is warranted, which is hard to find in a good dark UF book. Every word in this book is there for a purpose, and every scene helps to propel the story. This is definitely a five-star story. I would rate it higher if I could.
Wow. Darker, funny, and completely entertaining. I now see why Malik is a legend, he might not necessarily like being a vampire but he’s extremely good at it. This book is full of snark, hilarity, twists and interesting characters. Kimbra is getting edgier and dare I say better with each book she writes. Stanley and Stella are the funniest and most authentic characters. I’d say more but I don’t want to spoil this fantastic story. Read and you will NOT be sorry.
Malik is so much fun. He’s gritty and real and makes you want to be on his team. Come see this reject make big sexy changes to the vamp world.
I love Malik and I am so excited to see him settling into his new position. There are several new characters who add to the exciting twists. I love that Malik is not doing things the way they have always been done. He shows respect for the past with vision for the future. I’m looking forward to seeing what he changes next and how that will affect his realm.
