Georgia Moon Whiskey has been in love with Luke Hannah for as long as she can remember, but he’s never given her a second look. It doesn’t matter anymore. He betrayed her brother and left town with his tail between his legs. Having bought Luke’s property to expand the family business, Georgia Moon turns Luke’s home into a residence for their bull riding students and moves herself into the master … master bedroom all in the name of therapy to get over the man who never knew he held the power to break her heart.
Luke Hannah has made a mess of his life and has only one person to blame for it: himself. After spending a year in Florida, he comes back to his hometown for the wedding of the man who used to be his best friend the brother of the woman he never had the nerve to ask out on a date. All Luke wants is a second chance, but there is still one secret from his past that looms over his head, threatening to destroy everything.

Jen wrote another fantastic book with all the suspense that goes with it. It’s so sad what one person would do to protect his family. The lies Luck had to live with. Destroying his friend and the horrors his father had done when he was 10 years old. He’s always loved Georgia Moon but if she ever found out about his life, she’d never forgive him. This story was hard to read as far as what Luke’s father did and how he’s tried to protect his sister and her son from anyone knowing what their true names are.
In the first book of this series we saw JW get betrayed by his best friend Luke, at that point we don’t know the reasoning behind it all but it was a pretty rotten thing for a friend to do. Luke also ends up selling his ranch to JW and then moving to Florida to help his sister and her child.
In this book JW and Kitty are getting married, Robert Preston is on trial, and a serial killer who was responsible for Georgia Moon’s friend death is being executed. What is a surprise is that Luke has a major part in all of these events.
Georgia Moon has been in love with Luke since childhood, and she is at a point in her life where she doesn’t need or want any distractions, not even a romance with Luke.
Essentially even as he says he won’t lie to her again, he is lying, but not by choice. It’s a necessity but it is one that could destroy everything with Georgia Moon.
Georgia Moon has to overcome a lot of things in this book, she comes to some not so pleasant realizations and some very emotional ones as well.
I love the way this book plays out, there’s suspense, lots of emotion, romance and some sizzle too.
I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

A wonderful story full of raw emotions, trust issues, secrets, and love. This is the second story in the series and is a stand-alone. I recommend reading the first book to get some of the backstory. Georgia Moon and Luke have great chemistry, but will secrets destroy what happiness they have. I enjoyed this book and the series. Looking forward to the next one.
Georgia Moon is the second book in the It’s All in the Whiskey series and it can be read as a standalone, but I strongly recommend reading the first book in the series, Johnnie Walker before this one. A few events/situations are referenced over the course of Georgia Moon that relate to book one and though they are explained well enough to understand, the flow of the story would be even better with the complete knowledge and understanding of the situations and the backgrounds of the characters involved.
This book is centered on JW’s sister, Georgia Moon and the ex-best friend (more like a brother) Luke, though the rest of the family are also acknowledged as well. Georgia Moon and Luke were both head over heels for the other for years and due to some bad choices and decisions on Luke’s part things went terribly wrong and not only caused a rift between himself and Georgia Moon, but the entire family (hence the ex-best friend scenario) and left lingering feelings of hurt and betrayal that will resonate with her forever. She will never forgive Luke for the things that happened. However, what she knows is not the entire story and when she gets all the information as well as new information from a shocking, horrible secret from Luke’s past that he has kept buried (for good reason) will that be the breaking point for them all?
Luke had legitimate reasons for the actions he took all those years ago. And though, possibly misguided to an extent, he did what he had to do to protect himself and most importantly, his family from danger and repercussions from a certain event in their youth. He believed he had no options and though it gutted him in the worst possible way, the hurt and betrayal were his only path out. Now that he is back to mend fences and right wrongs and hopefully make a new life for himself and his only family will he be given a chance to correct the mistakes or will he be forced to move on, yet again?
This was an interesting, quick read with great characters, plenty of drama, family, emotions, love, and a second chance romance. For the most part, I really enjoyed the story but there were a few times I thought Georgia Moon was a bit over the top with her anger and attitude and being completely unreasonable and lacking any empathy. Not to give away any of the story but in one particular situation Luke and his family’s lives literally depended on him not telling a sole his secret and she was extremely irrational and unmoving on this in any way (even her brothers got it and understood, but her –no). In the end, things were sorted and it was an acceptable ending to Georgia Moon and Luke’s story and I look forward to the next book in the series.
Love this series!
Georgia isn’t ready to face Luke after everything went down between him and her brother but she knew she couldn’t hide from him forever. This is all about attraction that was never acted on before and now when they finally do its when emotions are heightened by the court case against the man that tried to ruin her family and Luke as well as the execution of the man that killed Georgia’s best friend. There is passion, anger, betrayal, heartbreak and hope to draw you in and keep you turning the page and wow good luck not shedding a tear a time or 2 during the book!!
While this book can be read as a stand alone story do yourself a favour and read Johnny Walker first It will give you far more insight into Luke the Hero of this story.
Luke had to make a hard decision and in the process his BF her brother and family where hurt but he did it for all the right reasons. Now Georgia Moon Whiskey’s family has bought Luke’s property and she has moved into his old home even into the master bedroom hoping to forget the one man she has always loved. When Luke returns for Johnny’s wedding will he finally admit that he has feelings for Georgia Moon and will he act on them and what about the huge secret that he is still keeping. Be prepared this one is a tearjerker definitely read at home because I guarantee you will be ugly crying before the end of the story
Luke Hannah sold his ranch to the Whiskey family and left town. He returns, for the wedding of his best friend JW, knowing that he can’t avoid Georgia Moon. She is the only woman he has ever loved, but he has secrets that have kept him from declaring his love. Georgia has always wanted Luke and decides it is time to force the issue, not knowing that what Luke may reveal could tear them apart forever. Luke did what he needed to do both years ago and before he left town to protect his younger sister. Now as events come to a head, will he lose his chance at happiness and love? A truly emotional read about a man who was forced to make difficult choices and a strong woman who must decide whether love can overcome their pasts. 4.5 stars ***** what would you do and how far would you go to protect someone you love? Luke has too much going on with his life, from an evil father to an unscrupulous business associate out to ruin everyone. Georgia Moon is his only love and she gets her heart broken when she gets caught up in his tragic situations. Make it easy on yourself and just rip your heart out and grab some tissues. Some heart wrenching situations, shared love and some hefty secrets. Luke is so burdened with everyone wanting a piece of him and Georgia Moon loves him so much. So very well written and an exciting read! A Jen standard! Can’t wait for the next book in this series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. I also purchased a copy of this book.
I received an ARC for an honest review.
This is one of the many series Jen Talty has that I really enjoy. I am more of a paranormal genre reader (my first was one of the Sassy books she did) and so do not always go for the contemporary. I 1 click’d this series. I like Luke from JW’s story. I thought he made bad choices but was a good person in the heart. This was a very emotional book. I was not expecting the “secret.” I did like the byplay between Luke and Georgia, and it felt real. This is what Ms. Talty excels at – making it real, in the end – love wins as it should in a story. The reason for the 4 stars? I really think there should have been a warning or a caution in the subject matter. It can trigger some people. Give Georgia and Luke a shot. But remember, there is always the burn the first one down…
While technically a standalone (and context is clearly explained), you’ll get a lot more out of this book if you’ve read the first in the series, Johnnie Walker (JW)’s story. There’s a lot for Georgia to forgive in this story, and some of it is difficult to look past. Reading it, though, we’re offered insight into Luke’s history, his childhood, and his need to protect his sister at all costs. And it’s that that makes it possible for Georgia to come to terms with his history with JW in particular. It’s not a book that sits easily; it left me wondering if I could have been as understanding (and probably I couldn’t have). However, the Luke that emerges is both honorable and strong, and, well, that’s who Georgia Moon deserves.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
