Georgia Clay is the first in the Southern Promises Series by K. G. Fletcher. Through the whole story, I felt like I was dreaming. Clay and Katie were such interesting characters to follow along in their journey. I love country music and cowboys, and the fact it was partly in Nashville this was right up my alley. I loved how each of the characters grew into who they really wanted to be with each other, not because of each other. The book was fast paced and easily read in one sitting, did not want to put it down. Would definitely recommend for those who love adorable country love stories!
Georgia Clay (Southern Promises Book 1) by KG Fletcher
4 out of 5 Stars
Georgia Clay had me screaming at my phone! In some parts because I was laughing, and in some parts because I didn’t want the character to do what they were choosing. This story has all the feels and knows how to use them.
Katie Parker went to her 10 year highschool reunion for her best friend, Stacey. Katie was a workaholic and liked it. She had time in her hectic schedule for things that mattered, work, family, work, and friends. Did she mention work? Katie had climbed her way to almost the top of the ladder at her insurance firm because she earned every rung. Coming out of the bathroom at the reunion, Katie bumps into Clay Watkins. Will this accidental meeting turn into more than just bruised toes?
Clay Watkins discovered his love of music early. He always knew it was going to be his dream. After graduating high school, Clay makes his way to Nashville and builds a name for himself before heading back for his high school reunion. Bumping into Katie was just another way the fates were looking out for Clay. As Katie and Clay get to know each other all over again Clay is offered the chance of a lifetime. Could it be that Katie is the missing piece for Clay? WIll Katie have to choose between her dream and Clay’s?
The emotional rollercoaster that KG Fletcher takes you on from the beginning has a true payoff in the end. In between the cheers and jeers, the characters worm their way into your heart and take root there. I am glad that this is a series so I can see where Katie and Clay go!
I absolutely loved this book. It is the first time I have read a book from author K. G. Fletcher. It was amazing. I was holding my breath and my heart stopped I’m sure as I continued reading. The reuniting of Katie and Clay at their high school reunion has sparks flying. The characters are so likeable and you want everything to work out for them. They live 4 hours apart. Will the long distance and their busy careers make or break them. I couldn’t wait to find out. A great book to cuddle up in a comfy chair on the beach or inside by the fire. I’ll say it again, I loved, loved this book.
Absolutely loved this gorgeous read! It was one l couldn’t put down, it made smile! Katie & Clay getting reacquainted at a 10 year school reunion! And the sparks fly! Love both these characters, couldn’t be more perfect! A must read!
Georgia Clay is Book 1 of the Southern Promises series by K.G. Fletcher, and my personal favorite of the 3 novels. It can be easily followed as a standalone, however if you plan to read the series as a series, pay attention to the side characters! This book gives excellent insight and builds up ALL the characters rather than just the leading 2. This book was super easy to get lost in. Once I picked it up, I didn’t want to put it down. Clay is an all out Southern gentleman, and Katie, born in the south, is also a city girl through and through! I loved following the ups and downs and uncertainty of both characters as they navigate their relationship. I loved that it was 100% romance, and there was no subplots to detract you from what the book was actually about. 5 out of 5 stars!
Georgia Clay book one Southern Promises Series Written by KG Fletcher
5 Stars
This book was such a refreshing read. I had just finished a darker series and needed this type of book. I instantly fell in love with these characters and was championing for a HEA for them.
“He was her song; the melody that had been missing from her life.”
I love how their back story was intertwined into their current lives. I felt like I was getting to know their internal feelings along with them exposing their personal thoughts to one another.
I love the friendships, chemistry, loyalty and love for family, the struggle of balance with work and a new relationship. So much of this book can be relatable to many. From love, loss, taking a leap of faith and wondering if everything your hoping for will come true or be pulled from under you just as all the pieces start to come together.
I’m looking forward to Hartford’s story in book two Georgia on my mind. I hope characters from Georgia Clay are sprinkled into his story. I’d love to see where their journey takes them.
This first book in the Southern Promises series is a heart warming romance that will leave you feeling enlightened. Clay will have you swooning within in minutes of his introduction and Katie will have you wanting her as your best friend. Their story is one of true love, it is what love songs were written about and it is about fate and destiny. As the words entice you further into their story it will have you wishing you could be sitting in the back of that truck on a clear night hearing his beautiful voice as it caresses your soul. Georgia Clay is a story that will make you believe in a love that is worth everything. Such a beautiful story to bring this series to a magical start.
Clay and Katie Parker, love them! I felt like I was right there in this book with them. Georgia Clay is so entertaining, and the characters are amazing. I can’t wait to read Georgia On My Mind!
Georgia Clay (Southern Promises Book 1)
By KG Fletcher
Georgia Clay is book 1 in the Southern Promises series by KG Fletcher, this book is well worth the read. This is also my first book by KG Fletcher and I can’t wait to see what happens in the series. Katie is a business woman and very independent in the way she thinks. Clay is now a famous song writer. Katie doesn’t know this and when they meet up again there is an instant connection between the both of them. The background on Katie and Clay is that they met in high school nearly ten years ago. Clay had always had a crush on Katie and ten years later it was no different. But the problem in their way is the distance that they now live apart. Is their connection strong enough to endure a long distant relationship?
Georgia Clay is the first book in the Southern Promises series by K.G. Fletcher. I managed to read this book in an afternoon because I couldn’t put it down.
Katie had no idea what would happen to her when she agreed to go to her ten year high school reunion. I think we all have that one person from our youth that we play the what if game with. I know I do, and even after all of these years I still think of John from time to time.
Clay is sigh worthy. I’m a sucker for the southern accent and I could just imagine his sexy drawl while reading.
I have books two and three in this series in my kindle and ready to go. Can’t wait to get started.
5 Star
Georgia Clay (Southern Promises Book 1) By KG Fletcher is the first book in the Southern Promises series. Holy Wow I loved everything about this book. This is not my first book by this author and definitely not my last.i love this author’s ability to grab ahold of you and keeps your attention to the end. I literally couldn’t put this down once I started reading. This story is about Clay and Katie and second chances. While Clay is a songwriter, Katie is in the insurance business. These two went to high school together and run into each other at their high school reunion. That night is spent in the back of his truck talking all night. These two pulled at my heart strings and I was a little emotional in some parts. Will Clay tell Katie how he feels? He’s always had a crush on her .Can Katie take a chance on Clay? I highly recommend reading this book especially if you want to know what happens. I can’t wait to read more from this author.
Georgia Clay by KG Fletcher is a country music song. While reading this story, it made me think back to my high school days and see if I can relate to Clay and Katie. To be honest I did get emotional throughout this book. Clay is a song writer and Katie is in the insurance trade. These are two totally different people and lifestyles. It took a high school class reunion to get these two together. Will Clay and Katie take a chance on love or will they let this chance go by?
KG Fletcher wrote clear cut and precise characters which you can relate too. There was always that one you may have a crush on and never act upon it. She took me on an emotional ride. She tugged at my heart strings and my stubborn side. I enjoyed this book and I cannot wait to dive into her other books.
Georgia Clay is the first book in the Southern Promises series and I LOVED it!The story was sweet and emotional and had an easy flow to it.
We meet Clay who is a song writer and Katie who works in an insurance business. Both run into each other at their high school reunion where they spent the night talking to one another. Clay has always had a thing for Katie but has always been too leery on telling her. Their relationship progresses and slowly turns into love. I loved how believable this book was. You actually got to see the relationship grow instead of insta-love connection by page 2.
K.G. Fletcher did a beautiful job writing these characters and I cannot wait for more!
Georgia Clay, Southern Promises- Book One by KG Fletcher. This is a new to me author and I was extremely excited to read this book!!
Katie Parker has always put her career first. So when she attends her ten year reunion, the last thing she ever expected was to end up in the back of Clay Watkins pick up truck. Clay always had the biggest crush on Katie and figured their reunion was the perfect time to pursue her. Will they be able to have a long distance relationship when Clay’s performing career takes a flying leap or are they going to end before they even got the real chance to begin?
I flew through this book. I could not put it down. I am so looking forward to the rest of the serious!!!!
Georgia Clay, by K.G. Fletcher, is the first book of the Southern Promises series. The setting is a class reunion and the question always comes what could possible happen?! Two classmates reunite and sparks abound and the journey begins. The story had a true southern feel to it throughout the novel. You could feel the accents running off the characters and the behaviors evident in their actions. I could not put this story down and read it start to finish in one setting. I really enjoyed the characters and the obstacles they each had to overcome. The author didn’t force the story and you could feel it noting the flow stayed consistent. Beautifully written and looking forward to seeing what’s next in this series.
Georgia Clay by K.G. Fletcher is my first book by this author, and it’s also the first book in the Southern Promises Series.
I had a really fun time getting to know the characters in this book. I have to say that I wasn’t ready to feel all of the emotions that I experienced while reading this book. I was surprised to find that the author had created a good storyline that pulls you in, but keeps the reader entertained. I am excited to see where the author takes this series.
Georgia Clay by K.G. Fletcher is the first book in the Southern Promises Series. This is the first book that I have read by this author and if this book is a true indication of their work then I’ll certainly be reading more.
Katie and Clay meet again at their high school reunion 10 years after leaving high school. Katie remembers Clay as a very quiet, shy boy who only came alive when he sang at a school concert. Clay had a huge crush on Katie at high school. Now Katie is very successful in her job in insurance and Clay is now an award winning singer songwriter in Nashville. Both of them are so busy with their careers that there is no room in their lives for any social life or for romance. However Clay realises that his crush on Katie has not gone away and Katie is definitely attracted to Clay.
This is a very well written romance novel with fantastic characters that you can connect with and will fall in love with. I have to admit that Clay is an awesome character. He’s got everything you would want in a man. He may still be quite a shy person but he’s a totally different animal in the bedroom. There are some rather steamy encounters between our 2 main characters. Of course, the path to true love never runs smoothly and there are some obstacles in the way. How will Katie and Clay overcome these and get their HEA? I can assure you that if you choose to read this book, you will not be disappointed.
We are also introduced to some intriguing secondary characters that will be getting their own story told in future and I can’t wait to see what K.G. Fletcher has in store for us next.
Georgia Clay by K.G. Fletcher a four-star read that will take you away. This is the first book in the Southern promise series and it tells us the lovely story of Clay and Katie and ohh what a story, a story of how two seemingly opposite people attract. Who knew a ten-year reunion could bring such a bang, this was a sweet story with some great moments that will suck you in and spit you out an emotional wreck later. If you like sweet and romantic, then this series will be one for you.
Yall! I really, really loved this book! Georgia Clay by K.G. Fletcher is book one in her Southern Promises series. It was so cute and sweet and honestly perfect. It was a total feel good kind of romance that makes you pang with jealousy because it’s just too darn adorable. I loved how much country music was incorporated in Katie and Clay’s story. I feel like I knew the playlist before the book was over! Katie is a workaholic insurance guru and somehow managed to find the time to attend her 10year high school reunion. (Which makes me feel some type of way because mine is next year! Hopeful for a musical cowboy!!) Katie runs into the super shy new kid from her senior year, Clay. Not knowing his success over the years, they spend an unforgettable night together. From there it’s all a matter of maneuvering their long-distance relationship. I was cheering and screaming and crying right along the both of them during this story. Definitely the perfect pick me up! The story is short and gives you everything one could hope for in a steamy, sweet romance. Cannot wait to read more by this author!!!
A great read about second chances. Georgia Clay is an award winning musician and songwriter who had had a crush on Katie Parker since forever. When they meet by chance at a high school reunion, Clay seizes the moment. Will his nerves get in the way of his love and will Katie reciprocate his feelings?
A great read. Well developed plot. Well develoepd characters like Katie going for what she wants but kind underneath or Clays shyness but passionate nature.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like the natural imagery of the sunrise or the river through the landscape or the stars as something wonderful with senses as if you were actually there. I also loved the passion towards music which was perfectly written with a sense of magic and beauty towards it, in particular the scenes in the live lounge with emotions and music to tell a story. The only issue I would raise is that dialogue kept switching between direct and indirect speech which was sometimes hard to follow. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.
