Heart of a Marquis is a sweet clean Regency romance. I really enjoyed the well-developed characters. There were many little plot twists to keep my interest. Charlotte is a wonderful character who sees the best in everyone. Emma was a jealous, nasty, entitled prima donna, a wonderful villainess!
A Marquess and a Secret is a very intriguing story with two characters, a marquess and an injured soldier, trading identities in the search for true love. Lord Rivehhall does not want to be fawned over for his title. Lord Michael Astor, a second son, thinks no woman will look at him with his injured leg. They meet Miss Richards and Miss Carron. The ladies have their own issues with family members’ debts. Much confusion reigns because of the switched identities. Will everyone find an HEA or will this be a disaster? I very much enjoyed reading this fascinating book.
The Earl’s Regret is another very satisfying story from the very talent Joyce Alec. Normal for the time, the main characters are betrothed as children. Lord Mallon’s devious cousin was a nice plot twist. Three cheers for Lady Elizabeth making such a strong resistance. I could not put the story down!
An Earl’s Wager is a very entertaining Regency romance. The plot had some interesting twists to hold the reader’s attention. The characters were well portrayed. This was an interesting character study. I highly recommend the book.
I own these 4 books separately so I did not buy the box set.
Four very good stories that once I started this set I was not putting it down until I was finished it. The books have drama, danger, suspense in some form in each story, a well-written set that I enjoyed reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Gentlemen and Brides collection is a wonderful set of books with engaging characters. This is totally clean, safe to share with your daughters, and interesting The heroines are sweet and kind, yet strong. The heroes are good and handsome outside and within. The villains are formidable and realistic. The fight is real, but love is just as real. Enjoy this collection!

4 Regency romances.
Jaded, not really interested in finding a bride or not trusting women, the gentlemen still fall for the one woman, who is different from the rest.

The stories are entertaining, but not really anything special. Still – fun to read on a weekend or holiday to relax with a book.
These books were enjoyable reads. I like that they were a nice escape from my everyday life and I really enjoy the Regency period the books were written in.

Review Gentlemen and Brides by Joyce Alec
Heart of a Marquess
A Marquess and a Secret
The Earl’s Regret
An Earl’s Wager
The Earl’s Agreement
Oh, the foibles and ridiculous rules of London society in the 1800’s. The “ton” had special rules for all manner of behavior. A woman’s reputation could be ruined if she wondered into a room occupied by a lone male and was found before she could escape such a compromising situation. This is regardless of the true situation. Once compromised if they did not marry, she would be relegated to spinsterhood.
A man with a title was forced by his parents to marry of woman who was at least his level of “nobility” and produce an heir and a spare. Love was never considered, nor was a man’s character often taken into consideration as long as he was part of the ton and had money. Women were also bartered as part of business deals.
Joyce Alec, the author of this set of novels has taken these rules and crafted beautiful love stories around the culture of the British nobility. She has done a fine job of portraying life at that time. I enjoyed each book for different reasons, but they all had one thing in common. They were all entertaining and inspirational in their own way.

There were some good characters and situations. I am a sucker for a “happily ever after” ending.
A delightful five-book box set to fill a long weekend, with enough plot twists and tension to avoid cloying. You will get no spoilers from me.

This box set contains 4 Regency romances with lords, strong women, mystery, and love, along with quite a few extra books for your reading enjoyment! Below is a review of one of the books I enjoyed from this collection to give you an idea of how wonderful they are!
>>> Reviewing “AN EARL’S WAGER” <<< George, the Earl of Hartley, laughingly greeted his friend, Viscount Morton. They were preparing for the new Season in London where they would meet the eligible ladies and dance at the balls -- but George still found the idea of marriage repulsive. His preference was to just forget about his duties to his title and fully enjoy his freedom! Since this was the first Season for Lady Ellen Newton, daughter to the Earl of Fancot, her mother gave her rules of etiquette to follow. And her friend, Lady Charlotte, warned her about the men with roguish reputations to be avoided at all costs! Propriety was everything in that period, and behavior was scrutinized carefully! But unknown to Ellen, Lord Hartley and Lord Morton made a wager that George could steal a kiss from the lovely Ellen, despite her being warned about him and despite her father’s ruthless protection of his daughter. But being unchaperoned with a Lady, and even one quick kiss, is the kind of dishonorable behavior that would be considered scandalous in polite society! When he finally forced an introduction to her, she barely looked at him and refused to let him sign her dance card. This was not going to be as easy as he had assumed. He would need to completely change his ways and pretend to be a gentleman if he ever hoped to win his bet! This was a delightful book – the “battle of the sexes” always makes for a good and humorous story! Lady Ellen was a perfect young lady. Lord Hartley was the rogue he was known to be. The story line was paced well, with touches of humor interspersed to take out any sting of an insult. How far would George go to win his wager to have his White’s tab paid for the Season? What was he willing to do, and would he actually succeed after the strong rebuff he had received? Grab a copy of this charming story and see how it all turns out. You will equally enjoy the other books in this collection! Don’t miss out!

This collection of five sweet Regency romances is worth the read. No ditzy females and no overpowering alphas. The women in these stories are all worth knowing. No sex scenes but a certain amount of sexual tension in most of the stories. Good reading.
