Now an Amazon Top 100 Bestseller“This enemies to lovers story captures the reader from page one.” — New York Times & USA Today bestselling author SL ScottRaven Elliot blasts into town like a wrecking ball—striking and devastating. With a few simple words, my reliable routine crumbles to dust.“Is this seat taken?”I could close my eyes and let her voice wrap around me like a lover’s caress. But … her voice wrap around me like a lover’s caress.
But this isn’t that type of story.
And I’m sure as hell not that kind of man.
She hovers in my space, batting her lashes and smiling shyly.
The glimmer in her sapphire eyes is a promise of peace.
But I’m not falling for it.
And Raven doesn’t take the hint.
What starts as a battle of wills, explodes into a turf war.
She stands directly in my path everywhere I turn.
No matter how hard I shove, she won’t budge.
Raven seems dead set on driving me insane.
But I was here first.
And I’m not going down easy.
After all, no one ever taught me how to treat a lady.
GENT is a #BitterSweetHeat standalone novel.

Freaking Refreshing!
Trey, a scorching mix of hot grumpy, difficult and irresistible, ends up smack in the middle of Raven’s life when he doesn’t even want to be there.
Hell, he’d rather stay away from her sweet, kind, beautiful, and sexy-as-eff all-around awesomeness any day of the week. Raven SO isn’t his type.
Because Trey’s type is one-night-quickie bombshells he can get out of his bed first thing in the morning. And here Raven is, dancing around town making cupcakes?
Cupcakes as delicious as she is.
As fricking sweet too.
She literally traipsed her perky butt into his town!
Can someone please get her out of his hair???
Trey is disarmingly dirty, a bad boy with a heart so hard he needs it massaged to come alive for a woman. In most novels, this type of book boyfriends meet hardcore, take-no-prisoner women, someone tough as nails who forces him into submitting to love. Well, here’s the kicker that I LOVED about Gent: Raven isn’t your stereotypical hard**s heroine. No:
Spoiler alert: this woman doesn’t only win him over by being her sweet self, but she drives him crazy for her too. Which brings me to my question for the author: how did you pull that one off in such an adorable, believable way?
Needless to say, I recommend this book to anyone who wants to smile, fan themselves, and aww out loud. Enjoy, readers, because I think you just stumbled upon your new summer read.
This is the best book that I have read in a long time. Harloe Rae is a great story teller! You must read this book!!’
OK I have sprouted loud and proud I am not a big fan of insta love but I once again will eat crow. I like these two although to be honest it took a while to warm up to Trey. Raven well she’s all unicorns and happy places and it seems the fact that Trey is a total A-grade a$$hole she sees some redeeming trait in him. OK tons of sex in the craziest of places can be quite fulfilling I will give them that. By the end of the story I had plenty of laughs and aww moments and ok Trey wasn’t so bad by the end. All in all this author brings it to the table. I do love her books and this one is no different. All the feels, minor on the angst and heavy on their story. Raven sees in Trey what everyone hoped was there but wasn’t allowed close enough to find. They work and for her and only her he chose to be her one and only Gent.
Really love all of this authors books. They really draw you in. You really want to hate Trey from the start but there is this nagging feeling like if you just knew the root of the problem his dick persona would be more tolerable and I was right. Wow. Such pain and heart break. I get the shield he wears. Raven is adorable and sweet and was the perfect person to slide under this defenses. Love their banter and their oh so dirty moments. Can’t wait for delilahs book.
Steamy and dirty with a side of heart.
After suffering a tragedy as a kid Trey is Garden Grove’s resident asshole.
Raven just graduated from college and after a rocky childhood is trying to find where she belongs. When her bestie convinces her to move to Garden Grove, she gets a less than stellar welcome from Trey. Hijinks and shenanigans ensue.
Another great read from an awesome author!
5 stars and a cupcake

(Dual POVs)
Raven has moved across state when her friend Delilah asks her to come work in her bakery. Raven goes to the bar Dagos, right after getting off the road, to meet Delilah there. Raven spots the only empty seat at the bar and asks the male stranger if it’s taken. Raven gets a cocky and rude response from Trey, starting a feud between the two. Delilah soon hears about Trey’s tragic past, and softens towards him, as she also understands loss of a family member. Soon, they start a friends-with-benefits situation.
I thought this was a sweet, small town read. I thought Trey’s past somewhat justified why he was a grumpy ass to people around town. I loved Raven’s innocent determination to connect with Trey because he had experienced loss in the past, as did she. I have to be honest, I’m a bit bummed that some of the sexy scenes were skipped over. Towards the end of the book, Trey was a bit sappy at the bar. Granted, he was drunk, but being sappy didn’t seem to fit his character. I absolutely adored the treehouse scene.
Favorite quotes:
”And what? You’re gonna make up for it?” I expect her to shy away, but she stands her ground. “Because that doesn’t sound so bad, Princess. You’ve cockblocked, turned my dick against me, and flipped my life upside down in a few short weeks.”
She squints. “Huh? All I’m offering is an apology and my thanks. What happens with your body isn’t my fault.” -pg 61
I’ve kept myself numb so these feelings are unfamiliar, but not unpleasant. A calming sensation has been soothing my bitterness whenever she’s near. That flood of peace is the greatest drug. Raven is dangerous and lethal, which makes her too fucking good to quit. -Trey pg 162
Harloe Rae has done it again with this story 100% 5star read! Trey is the arrogant ass, but a sexy one at that! Raven is just gorgeous and strong inside and out! Raven just wants to be friends and maybe more? These two end up being friends with benefits, and it was smoking and sizzling, to becoming more than just that! Perfect enemies to lovers romance! Looking forward to reading more by Harloe!
I’ve been a fan of this author but this book just sealed the deal! I’ll read anything she writes! Loved GENT!
This one has it all…sweet, heat, love, angst and super enjoyable characters to read about. I devoured it!
If you like books with amazing chemistry, definitely a must read!
This book was ok I didn’t love but didn’t hate either
Honestly kind of dry in my opinion. It didn’t really hook me like I was hoping.
He never claimed to be a gentleman….and he most definitely lives up to that claim. He is tough, superbly rough around the edges and impossible to deal with. Raven figures he’d be good for a few good times and she’d be able to walk away. Things are never as it seems and she soon finds out that maybe, just maybe…he needs her more than she needs him. My first Harloe Rae book but I’m going back for more!
I always enjoy Harloe Rae’s writing, but Gent was an extra special “sweet-treat” book to read.
Raven Elliot blast into the small-town of Garden Grove, and makes quite a striking impression. She has been invited there, by her best-friend and college roommate, to become the Master Baker in her friend Delilah’s coffee & bakery shop. Her delicious treats and gorgeous looks have made quite an impression on the small-town. Everyone she has met so far has been so warm and inviting to her. Her first night out on the town, was about to change that quickly. For she was about to meet, the worst of the bad boys, named Trey Sollens.
Raven walked into the crowded bar, and hurried to the one empty bar stool. She asked the handsome stranger, “Is this seat taken?” To say he was less than welcoming, is a big understatement. Raven would be the third woman, in about ten minutes time, to call him the same not-nice swear word. She leaves and runs to her friend, and asked, “Is that guy
for real? I’ve never met anyone so rude yet forward at the same time.” Delilah warns her
friend to stay far away from him, “Trey is extra dangerous, like a triple threat. He’s bad for your heart, mind, and soul.”
Trey is a mechanic at his Uncle’s shop named Jacked Up. His uncle is the only person that he can even say he is fond of. He admits to not being a nice person. He never claimed to be a good guy. But there is something different about Raven. Their chemistry is so off the charts. They have a once in a lifetime connection. But in his “charming” way, “This is me Princess. Flaws and all. I’ve warned you off enough, and time is up. Accept me as is or get lost.” It is so hard to believe, he might never see, that she is the best thing to ever happen to him. You know that old saying, “You don’t know what you have till it’s gone!”
I highly recommend this book.
Raven moves to a small town and her first experience is meeting the rude, obnoxious Trent. Trent is a jerk, but it is mostly a barrier he has built to protect his emotions. It was fun to watch the two of them dance around their mutual attraction.
Absolutely love this enemies to lovers romance. Highly recommend it.
I was hopeful for this book, especially with it being a sort of enemies to lovers type read, but I don’t think it hit its mark. Gent was alright. I liked the characters well enough, I just had a hard time with their relationship. Maybe it wasn’t believable enough or I didn’t feel as connected to them as I would have liked to, but I just couldn’t get into the story all that much. Its your typical broody, asshole local boy who sleeps with tons of women and he happens to meet the sweet new girl in town and she can’t help but want him. Gent had potential, it just didn’t do it for me.
I really loved this story. Great read!
I absolutely loved Trey and Raven’s story! Trey is such a hot Dirty Mechanic.
Steamy and emotional romance. Raven and Trey are so hot together. He is a hot, brooding, wounded, filthy mouthed mechanic and she is a new girl in town baker. The attraction is instant, the sparks epic and the heat scorching. I found myself torn between wanting to shake Trey when he acted like a jerk and then wanting to hug him when his tenderness and pain was exposed. With drama, angst, pain and passion this book sweeps you into this story and makes you want to stay.
I LOVED this book!!!!!!
Trey is such an a$$hole and player until Raven comes along. She sees through his crap and finds the broken man underneath. Raven is so sweet and caring. She gives back to Trey just as much as he gives out. They both had such heartbreaking events occur in their lives which just made their connection even stronger. Their chemistry is sizzling and the sex is even hotter.
A great story with great characters. You can’t help but love this dirty mechanic and his baking master Princess
Gent is the story of an asshole named Trey who has built up walls around his heart due to tragedy that happened in his past. He meets Raven and is instantly attracted to her. He makes it quite clear at the beginning that he wants nothing more than sex and she eventually agrees, promising herself not to let her heart get involved. But, Ravens is a sweet soul that knows Trey is capable of love if he allows himself.
